    thank you so much sir...my question: working on a single building of over 25rooms, is it necessary to use a DB?
    is distance a barrier for direct connection from PABX to the socket?

    • @Tech_Inside_Out

      The DP would not be necessary in a single building.
      Distance is not a barrier at all, you can do the direct connection.

    Hi can i use two or more DP?
    Lets say two storeys, and a detached security room. first floor cat6 are 4 in number, So i punch them down into distribution box and pick from DP with Multicore cable to the other security building, and punch the multicore it into DP and lastly take it from DP with cat6 and crimp into PBX?

    Sir. Let’s say i want to use 1 cat6 cable for 4 rooms next to each other. Single line can I use blue white blue for 1, orange white orange for 2, the third room green white green and the last 4th room brown white brown. ?
    Do they all go to the 2 and 3 pins in the rj11 connector?
    Pls lastly 😅 from the Dp box to pbx, if I punch down from the first line on Dp
    orange white orange,blue white blue, green white green, brown white brown. Will I still be able to pick it same way from dp to rj11 to pbx?

      1. Provided you would be able to separate all the cable pairs in the Cat 6 for the four rooms, it would work.
      2. Yes, pin 2&3
      3. You should be able to pick it from the DP and ensure you do your matching properly

    Sir, I have a question.
    Is it compulsory to include a telephone distribution point (krone)? Can't it be done directly.

    • @Tech_Inside_Out
      @Tech_Inside_Out  10 місяців тому +1

      The krone is used where you need to extend extensions to a distant location eg, another building that is having many extensions. In such a case you will use a multi pair cable and take to that Krone and from the krone you can distribute to extensions.
      So yes, you can wire your lines directly.

    • @Tech_Inside_Out

      The DP is mostly used when transferring the pbx feed to a location through multi pair cables. Eg when extending the pbx to a different building, you would need just a single multi pair cable terminated onto a dp and then pick your extensions from the DP

      Telephone system wiring has a code for the wiring which must be followed. It is a standard to enable anyone other than the one that installed the system to be able to easily trace faults in a telephone system.

    do you really need a distribution point? I have wires set up on each office and central point where all the wires meet. The central point will all go into the switch and the office part will go into the wall sockets. that will work right?

    • @Tech_Inside_Out
      @Tech_Inside_Out  4 місяці тому

      Yes, the setup you described will work. The distribution point works in instances where you have two or more buildings sharing thesame PBX machine. At each building, there will be need for a Distribution point and use a multi core cable from the pbx switch to the DP.

    Why do u need the DP when you can actually wire up from the face plate to the pbx straight? How does the dp help?

    • @Tech_Inside_Out
      @Tech_Inside_Out  5 місяців тому

      Lets take for instance where you are to install pbx in two different structures on one main pbx switch.
      You will require a multi core cable coming to a DP from where you will distribute the phone extensions to the various locations in that structure.
      In such an instance. running single cables to each extension will not be needed, all you need is a multi pair cable run to a DP.

    • @PlentyGistTVGH
      @PlentyGistTVGH 5 місяців тому

      @Tech_Inside_Out thank you. The dp could be exampled as a poe switch which is like a bridge from cameras to nvr assuming that. Just that it confuses when I hear multi core cables and single cables.

    • @Tech_Inside_Out
      @Tech_Inside_Out  5 місяців тому

      @PlentyGistTVGH Multi core cables come as one main cable with multiple pairs of conductors. Eg. You can have a 200 pair multi core cable that you can run so that it can be used to transfer as many as 100 telephone lines to a dp rather than running 100 Cat 5 or 6 cables to different phone locations. It is from the DP that you need to use the Cat 5 or 6.

    • @PlentyGistTVGH
      @PlentyGistTVGH 5 місяців тому

      @Tech_Inside_Out wow this is very insightful. Just yesterday we were to continue an abandoned cctv and telephone line installation, and I saw a bigger cable than a cat6 which had about 8pairs in one conductor and I was totally lost. As previous installer didn't finish running telephone lines but fixed face plates to the wall. Thank u very much.

    • @Tech_Inside_Out
      @Tech_Inside_Out  5 місяців тому

      @PlentyGistTVGH Yes, that 8 pair cable is an example of a multi core cable. As I mentioned, you can get bigger and larger pairs depending on your project type.

    • @Tech_Inside_Out
      @Tech_Inside_Out  5 місяців тому +1

      You can do direct cabling into the sockets but in an installation where there are different buildings connected to one pbx switch, you would need the dp in each building from where you would distribute to the various sockets in that building
