I have followed his career since his "Evita" days. He can do more with the relationship between and a lyric and a melody than anyone I've ever heard. What a gift!
It is called "Loving You" from the Sondheim musical Passion. If you search for "PASSION- Loving You- Live At Lincoln Center " you can find a clip of Patti performing the song.
@@katybakerfunshine Agent Gideon, aka Mandy Patimkin is definitely a singer. He has had a career.on Broadway. In fact he was in Evita with Patti Lupone.
@@WMJCPA And was Inigo Montoya. Not that he sang in that, but still. And you missed perhaps his biggest musical role -- starring as George in Sunday in the Park With George. 😁
@@lilliana41 Yes I did miss that. Sadly I haven't followed the Broadway scene much since the early 70's. I am just so entrenched in the classics 40's through the 70's. But there is hope for me. I saw Phantom for the first time in March when they were running Broadway performances on the shows must go on on my cable. I must say I was not a.fan of Andrew Lloyd Webber, but I did love Phantom like most others I know. I am a fan of Sierra Boggess, her talent brings a tremendous freshness to the musical theater.
@@lynnmiller3937 I think he wrote it in a way to depict the emotion of anxiety? Or thats what I think which you should take with a slightly larger pinch of salr lol
@@lynnmiller3937 the first time you hear it it's normal. But like, there are slower versions if u want to understand it, but it's kinda not so hard to understand if ye focus XD
I love Mandy, and I love Patti, but Mandy and Patti TOGETHER? Absolutely priceless!!
Yes. At one point it was called EVITA.
Her silent “ don’t tell Paul “ 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I have never heard the part of the choir girl sang in mixed voice and I adore it! 😍😍😍 Patti is God

I Once saw a countertenor do the 3 roles in the respective octaves... That was like Olympic gymnastics.

That sounds impossible!
I'm a mezzo and I can do it! Maybe I'll upload it to my channel, haha!
This is truly the only song that can put to the test Patti’s blue whale lungs
Patti is INCREDIBLE
I love the way they circle each other at the end
Stephen Sondheim is pure genius.

No pun intended.
2:42 made me actually laugh out loud.
I've watched so many versions of this song, and Patti simply takes it to another level and makes it her own.
This is the best video I've seen in a while ♡♡♡♡♡♡
