One of the best and most effective movie soundtracks ever made, adventure, fantasy, suspense, mystery. Master Piece The best way to remember you in eternal memory. Goodbye Rutger you will always remain my favorite actor and superhero. The best! like you there are no more. Thank you for all the emotions you gave us. We will miss you unforgettable and irreplaceable. Rest in peace in my heart.
I love this soundtrack, i saw this movie as a child and now when i explored it again a felt in love with Ruthger and Michelle and this music...can listen and dance for hours :) :) pure love
It’s such an epic soundtrack. About 7:56 and the French horn/trumpet, guitar have their solos and the full orchestra is just so beautiful. I can totally see him lifting her up and twirling around. 😍😆 Navarre & Isabeau ❤❤❤
Yep. Andrew Powell (Project mainstay) composed & orchestrated/arranged the music and conducted the orchestra while the Alan Parsons Project band played the non-orchestral stuff and Alan himself produced & engineered everything. This took place right in between Vulture Culture (1984) and Stereotomy (1986)... some fans would consider this the "1985" APP album.
Ever since I discovered this movie in highschool and fell in love with it I wanted a CD of the soundtrack. I looked for one for five years and finally found one at a half price books and it's been the prize of my CD collection ever since.
I've seen many times this movie not only for soundtrack and the same it, but for the story which has shot in the one most periods of the history of middle Evo: the time of ancient riders 👍👍👍😃
read the book way before the movie came out and was totally ecstatic as the book was followed closely. The casting was excellent and although the soundtrack got a lot of criticism, I thought it matched the movie perfectly. R.I.P Rutger Hauer
There's a book?!! (frantically Googles hoping there's a Kindle version...! 😅) Thanks for sharing and I totally agree that the soundtrack suited the movie. It added to the drama and feeling of adventure for the viewer. I always felt like I was part of the action and that feeling owes so much to the wonderful score. Thank you Andrew Powell and Alan Parsons, both 👏👏👏
I agree entirely with the soundtrack. I've no idea why some peole think clasical musci should be used for fatnasy movie soundtracks. this fits the movie entirely. love this film.
I loved this film, and I loved this theme. They don't make these kinds of films anymore. I don't listen to theme songs as much as I use too. The last Theme that touched me was Man of Steel's.

People saying this is the best soundtrack... no. The sound track is what makes this epic fantasy movie damn near unwatchable today. It will never be the timeless classic it should have been because the sound track dates it far too much.
Nah. Gone with the Wind has a dated soundtrack, and it's still a classic. And the theme to Star Wars is so 70's it practically wears flares and long hair, but it's instantly recognisable. The fact that the soundtrack is "eighties" adds to it's legend, not detracts.
@@theshillneckedlizard8364 Dated? Orchestra is still used to this day for modern block buster sound tracks. Orchestral music is literally timeless, that's why it's used so much. No one uses 80s synthpop unless they are deliberately trying to sound "retro", like The Weekend. No 80s synth OST is considered a timeless classic. Not a one.
best top 10 movies of the 80s. it beats the garbage movies of today.
Rip Navarre. 😢

The love and softness in Rutger Hauer voice when he called her Lady Hawk. That went right into my heart.
Beautiful soundtrack ❤️

I have to see this movie again.
In my opinion the soundtrack and story transcends time. It's ageless which is why the music suited the movie and story. I loved it.
So beautiful. I love the guitar and trumpets at the end. Love the movie too. The end of religion and love triumphant
RIP Ian Bairnson and his beautiful solo at the end... one of my favorite riffs by the legend.
RIP Rutger Hauer.
One of the good guys.
Wonderful. Absolutely magnificent. There are no words to describe this music.
Master piece...
I know it's a bit late Ricardo but damn what a comment 🤘😜🤘
My favorite Love story! I never knew Alan Parsons was responsible for the Sound Track. Pure Delight!

Rutger Hauer will always be Navarre,
David Bowie will always be Jareth,
Some performances just can't be topped :)
Love this comment and totally agree. Since these were two of my fav movies growing up, had to add my support to your opinion 😊
And Michelle Pfeiffer will always be Isabeau, aka Ladyhawke.

they don't put it in *anything* anymore...now it's all rap...
+Pheralg too right!
Pheralg that's why I learned to compromise. look up "scenic route" by Panacea.
