But, what about Alan Parsons?
@@christhawk9049 ???
@@GillesNuytens childhood memory... like this music! And Michelle: une Déesse! (Rutger from out there like Bladerunner's replicant)
@@christhawk9049 I made this from Alan Parsons (Lucifer): ua-cam.com/video/hK2gXMLxfOQ/v-deo.html
Many consider this soundtrack to be a cheesy disaster. But let me tell you a story...
Back then, it was 1991, I had seen Ladyhawke several times since it came out a few years earlier, and I always thought it was one of the most beautiful fantasy love stories ever. Because of that, I liked the music a lot, not least because I also like The Alan Parsons Project enough to find this experimental score cool and refreshing.
Now, there was this tabletop roleplaying game group I was about to start, and for some strange reason I can't remember I had decided to use this soundtrack for it.
Two of my friends, a couple, had asked if one of their friends could join in, a girl I barely knew, and I had agreed to that.
Now, the game began and the music started with that ominous first sounds, and as the first synth tones started, that new girl's head spun around, her eyes met mine, and she said, beaming at me, "Ladyhawke?!"
I didn't know many girls who were interested in filmmusic. To have this stranger sitting next to me who knew Ladyhawke, the movie, so well she recognized the music immediately... I couldn't believe it. She smiled so deeply at me, and my hand found hers...
This year, we'll be together for 31 years, and in a couple of days, we'll be married for 27 years.
It may be a cheesy disaster, and yet it still had enough magic in it to help two strangers recognize each other's souls.
Thank you for creating this. I'll consider it an early anniversary gift. ^^
It's not a cheesy disaster, it's a masterpiece.
@@GillesNuytens Well, I couldn't agree more. But you know... people are stupid.
Aww that's amazing. Might be the one of the best stories I've heard yet. I remember this movie as the first non kids movie I loved. And that music... brings me back to the good times.
The tale of a hawk, a wolf, and a mouse...
Damn, when those violins come in is great. 50 year old kid still loving this movie. It was my gateway to fantasy.
I love listening to your edit of the music. It shows me you've got good ear for music.
I love the music for "Ladyhawke" and I listen to it anytime I'm feeling down or fatigued, and it gives me a an emotional lift
every time.
Thanks for making life better for me and others, with your excellent work! 😀🤗☺️🎶🎵🎹🎻🥁
Thank you very much for your nice comment. This kind of comment also makes me feel a little bit better.
Wonderful music from Alan Parsons Projection, and a great movie with Hutger Hauer, Michelle Pfeiffer and Mathew Broderick. Unforgetable. ❤❤❤❤
Loved the movie. The music was amazing. I'm going to watch it again.
Still love this movie.
So many movies with a billion reactions, and this only has one, needs more people seeing it :>
I'm speechless... Masterpiece!
I started listening to this soundtrack because of Ready Player One. This is great.
Superbe musique et très beau film.
Amazing music for a wonderful movie.
Awesome. Love this film & music. Thanks❤
UN CLASICO DE LA HERMOSA MICHELLE PFEIFFER Y EL VALIENTE RUTGER HAUER
I'll never understand the people that say that this soundtrack doesn't fit the tone of the film, this theme goes soooo hard when the movie starts
It gets pulses pounding. Otherwise I wouldn't have bothered with looking it up. It reminds me of Highlander.
Indeed, it's basically perfect! Both Andrew Powell and of course Alan Parsons, ok, some of the synth work is a bit dated but it totally makes the film :-)
Again, a wonderful extended Cut and what great music ! Thanks Gilles ! 💖
I finally watched this great film. Id seen the trailer since I was a kid. Great actors :))
Ian Bairnson solos at 2:14 and 5:23. You're welcome.
Bellissima colonna sonora e bellissimo film, grazie ❤
MARAVILLA
It is so strange that this track doesn't fit the movie but at the same time it does. It's the same relationship as Berserk and 'Tell me why'
I disagree, for me this music transmits all the determination of the protagonist, Navarrese, to meet his beloved again, despite all the obstacles that are placed in front of him.

FUCK, LOVE THIS MOVIE.
The Best
I remember this movie, i watched at the end of 80s, Rutger Hauer as Ettiene de Navarra, Michelle Pfeiffer as Ladyhawke. good times for best movies. Thanks for post this beautiful theme song.
Been back here several times for this when I hit the gym.
That middle part where it amps up at 3:19 is great stepping it up on the treadmill.
BRAVO ! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
viva bravo y hurra los mosqueperros

Traumhaft......was war ich verliebt in Michelle Pfeiffer...❤❤

I have always loved the madness of the strings when they come in at 3:20
Masterpiece.
I love the movie, the music everything! The happiness of being together at the end.
R.I.P. Rutger Hauer - A class act, the world is a little better because he was here.
❤❤❤ al time favo
I love your website and the choice of music 🎉 You've done a job with this. Keep up the good work 😊 👍 🤗 😋

I totally loved this movie when I saw it as a kid. I have revisited it many many times over the years.
Amazing!
I love it.
❤👍🏻
sigla magnifica❤
I wish this theme didn’t sound so dated in its instrumentation. I loved the film. Even when it was first released the instrumentation felt too remote from the time period of the story. The rhythms helped the storyline, but I wish for something more timeless.
