I have hit at Continental a number of times. They too have punch card setup for better pricing. Overall ok, older setup with well used mats etc. Small pitch/put/sand area for practice too. Can get busy, but I’ve never been unable to practice.
Thanks, I really appreciate the information. I am new to TV and just had my first range experience yesterday at Sarasota and it was a good experience. Cannot wait to have the new Driving Range complex in Eastport. I do plan to try Continental because of its proximity to the southern area. Thanks again.
My pleasure, thank you for watching. Glad to hear you had a good experience at Sarasota it certainly is a favorite and go to for me as well. I too am excited for Eastport to finish, it should help relieve driving range congestion at Sarasota. Continental apparently has some of the best greens around so it should be worth playing. Thank You.
Not sure you remember me, We close on our home in Fenney May 6 If you can wait till I get there . I would love to treat you to a round of golf at Glenview. Your fist time play and of course my first. It might make for a great video, new comer to the villages
Yes I remember, that would be excellent. I will save Glenview for you. Typically we film VLOG's on a Saturday or Sunday because Amy is our videographer. If you wouldn't mind sending an email to thevillagesgolfers@gmail.com we can communicate in more detail to set up a time to play. Thank You.
I was targeting the Country Clubs/Championship courses that have all the necessary facilities to work on every aspect of your golf game. The must have list included driving ranges, putting greens, short game areas and bunkers. Bonifay, Havana, Mallory Hills, Orange Blossom, Southern Oaks, Cane Garden, Belle Glade, and now Shallow Creek and the like, only include hitting nets for warming up and full swing. I don't consider that a complete practice facility as the lack of a driving range is a problem for most people looking to practice. However you are correct they all typically have some form of putting and short game area but it's hit or miss on whether you can find a bunker.
6.2 is a serious Golfer, congrats on putting in the work. TV is the place to be for a golfer. They are building a new practice facility near the Eastport with several new courses executive and championship. TV is certainly worth a good hard look. Thank You.
As a serious golfer who lives in TV, I cant say enough about how much better it is to live in the northern area of the TV near Buena Vista. THe ideal place is somewhere near Glenview. You will have golf cart access to 5 driving ranges as opposed to just one in the southern end. If you are like me and looking to hit from grass, it makes a big difference in the winter/busy season. Crowds are an issue in the winter.
The Loblolly short game area is adjacent to the Loblolly starter shack down near Fenney. Loblolly is located at 2197 Fenney Way, The Villages, Florida, 32163. Here is a link to the website: www.thevillages.com/golf/loblolly-executive/
A bit of both. It's true some of the courses were in terrible shape and appear to have been mismanaged (Championship and Executives). Other courses were in great shape and were totally fine, so something didn't add up The official word was that some of the older greens or older courses suffered from a wet winter and root rot. While that may be true some of the newer courses also were closed down for unplayable conditions so I find the truth is somewhere in the middle. The good news is they have been, and are still addressing the issues and I see positive strides.
Great summary … I learned something. I don’t practice very much (ok … not at all; I play Mickylee most every day that I’m not playing a championship or other executive course), but I should 🙄 Maybe I’ll practice more after watching your video. And I appreciate that you included places “outside the bubble” (I’m on a fixed income, you know 😉) I’ve driven by that one on Rolling Acres (a lot). It’s always busy. ⛳️🏌️♂️ I think most of the executives courses have a practice putting green, don’t they? Thanks for including Loblolly. I heard the Continental driving range is very nice. I haven’t tried it, but I have played the course. As always, keep up the great work 👍🏻
I am glad you enjoyed it. Yes lots of free options inside the bubble to practice especially for people on a fixed income. You are correct that most executive courses have putting greens as do the other championships courses i didn't list in my video. Additionally the other championships courses (which don't have a full driving range) will also have various types of short game areas that Villagers can utilize. Continental is on my list for sure as an outside the bubble option. Thanks again.

Great comment, Thank You so much. It's on my short list of places to visit very soon and hopefully they will let me film on course as well.

We are debating moving to TV. I’m a 6.2 handicap and play or practice almost everyday.

There’s a lot of bad media going around regarding how bad the course maintenance has been in the villages lately. What do you think? Facts or fiction?
