Illegal Pin or Just Tough Golf? Technically an "Illegal Pin" Rule does not exsist in either the USGA or RNA rules that I am aware of. However this doesn't excuse golf course superintendants from setting a bad pin. Factors such as the speed of the green, the firmness of the green, slope around the pin, exposure to wind and even skill of golfers utilizing the course are usually taken into consideration. An accepted practice that has been brought to my attention is dropping a ball from waist high within three feet near the hole and it shouldn't roll away. Also let me be clear, I don't mind tough pin locations, I just would like them to be fair. Additionally believe the grass is being cut to tight for the winter considering it doens't grow as fast. In my humble opinion there is no reason not to leave them a little thicker in the Winter to avoid situations like this. I look forward to hearing from you in the comments below, let me know what you think. Thanks
If you played the Jubilee putting course (near Mickylee) there were some ridiculous pins there last week or so that, if you missed, would roll back down the hill to a drain … even if you got it past the hole, it could roll back, past the pin and down the hill. Lotta laughs 😂 Just gotta keep smiling. 😊 I haven’t played Truman, but the greens at Mickylee are just awesome. 👍🏻Jerry does a great job there.
Oh I am sorry to hear about Jubilee. The irony of it all is that the Pitch and Putt courses are in the best shape and it's easy to get on and play, go figure. It sounds as if we need more Jerry's around the Villages because something is different this year and some of these courses are in rough shape. Thanks for always having a great comment, we need to try and link up at some point as I have some channel swag for you.
The villages cuts the greens way to close, they brown out and burn out and you get green dirt. The corduroy pattern is great to ski on,not so much to putt on.
I would understand if you did. more to the point as you said hole 6 and 8 were terrible. The backup on the course was so bad, some groups gave up and left.

just tough golf. i didn't see a single ball scare the hole and they all looked like hammered putts.
Definitely tough golf, Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts!

Great comment, thank you.
Was this a level 4 course, or just the time of year ?
This course plays as a level 4 all year round and I was playing from the forward "easy" tees.
I was prepared to disagree about the placement but I would have been so annoyed by those two.

Thanks for watching.

I can AFFORD Orange Blossom... 👍
Auto-correct strikes again! Don't worry, we all make those funny typos.
