Thanks. Got off the airplane after leaving my car parked for 2 weeks, I come back and the tire is completely flat, definitely not safe to drive on, especially on the highway. Your vid helped me figure out how to Jack it up properly. Got home safe. Thanks again! ❤
So glad it helped you out! When i did the video I did have visions of someone stood on the side of a road, frantically googling "how to change a wheel!" Well done for getting it done!
I tried swapping the alloys on my Golf 4 ( same alloys as in the video) to put on steel wheels as I somehow prefer the look but I took the wheel nut lock off (cost me 40 quid as i managed to lose the damn tool) and loosened the nuts, lifted the car up and took the nuts off but the wheel wouldn't budge off, i seen a few videos about kicking it but I was using the jack that comes with the car and I really wasn't trusting it as it wasn't even the type of jack you get on most other cars, I gave the wheel a few light kicks and the car was wobbling and i had a look at the jack and it seemed to be leaning over a bit more so i gave up and put the nuts back on, also I can't find the place to put the jack in frht front of the car? I know in the rear there's the sort of round discs but in the front I don't see them, how much would it cost at a mechanic to get them swapped? I had purchased tyres from a tyre shop and they were gonna replace my wheels until they realised i needed the tool for the nut lock and they didn't have it so i had to get it done the next day at another place, emailed the shop but no reply so far on their prices or if they'd be willing to still do it for free as i did purchase 4 tyres
First things first, if the wheel's not budging, don't go hitting it about while it's only on the jack, because the jack will give way!! It needs to be supported securely before you go at it. I would pop the centre cap off and spray all around the centre of the wheel with WD40 to help release it. If that doesn't help, you will need to give it a tap with a rubber mallet....short sharp blows! A garage shouldn't charge you too much to swap the wheels I'd have thought. Depends really, you might get them to do it for £10-£20 maybe?
@@charlieshooter Try PB Blaster instead of WD 40 for stubborn/rusted hardware. It has really worked for me. (BTW: "WD" stands for "water displacement". WD-40 was the fortieth test fluid, meant to coat metal to prevent water from causing rust... the fluid itself is fish oil.)
So good, thanks! Didn't realise that little "dint" on the sill had a use, thought something had dented it😂
Glad to be of assistance! 👍🏼

What about rear?
Similar, look for the little marks on the sill.
@@charlieshooter Thanks for the quick response I was wondering about where to position the axle stand. at rear end.
The rear beam is probably the best point on the rear.
We jacked it up wrong and bent stuff underneath my mk4.
A guy teaching me how to do it but it's the dumb leading the dumb.
Hope this was a bit better!! The best of us have managed to jack up a car in the wrong place and bent something or another! 😂
You're so handsome 😘
I don't know about that.....but thanks! 😃
