I had the 6'6 medium Kastking blackhawk II. It broke very easily in the center of the rod, at an extension joint. READ THE KASTKING WARRANTY. It is ridiculous. You have to pay to ship the rod to them and enclose $20, just for them to look at it. If they "determine" that it is defective, they keep your $20 and send another rod. If they say it is your fault, they want 1/2 the price of the rod. So, a $50 Blackhawk replacement would cost $20 (shipping & handling) to get there, $20 (shipping & handling) to send back to you, and $25 (half of rod price). You pay $65 for a $50 rod. If its their mistake, the $50 rod costs you $40. No more Kastking for me. They are a deceptive company.

You're like the only guy on UA-cam that has a video on the 8' heavy spinning version. Is the tip as flexible / likely to break as the reviews are saying? How does it compare to an Ugly Stik GX2?
I’m going to Florida keys next month and I’m getting this rod for the plane. I don’t know what size reel to get im gonna target decent fish like 5-15 pounds but I also wanna use this rod in the future for bass. So what do u think I should get
The specific rod I have in this video will be perfect for your Florida trip pairing it with a 3000 or 3500 series reel, I'm my opinion it's going to be too much of a heavy set up for bass fishing

Neither, check out my other video. Valaint Eagle 4000 is what you want, if you wanna downsize to a lighter setup with 3000. I have mine set up with 4000, perfect for salmom and steelhead
@@KushasNetwork man do you recommend this for a beginner, planning to fish near creeks and freshwater only. Do you recommend any other gears from Kastkings cuz they even got reels and other stuff on their shop

Great rod for going to the beach or on a hiking trip near streams and rivers.

Very flexible, and I would not throw anything on this over 1oz
Dont buy. It breaks real easy
Loved the concept, but I went through two of them. Breaks way to easy. I was using a 7.6 casting mh rod.
were you ocean fishing? These max out at 25
My 7.6 MH also broke with the first 5 lb bass... cheap rod. I didnt listen and learned the expensive way

Amazing an entire video review just to see no fish caught to see if this rod works or not.
How is it still holding up?
Still as good as the day it came out of the box! Definitely worth the money

Yes it is, perfect gold trim reel to go with the rod

@@gorebish7950 kastking is a very budget friendly brand and a great start
Telescope rods are only worth it if the convenience is necessary. Durability and sensitivity is never great.
worth it?
Just every penny 👍
Would this rod be OK to catch about 30 to 50 pound fish
That is going to be too heavy for this rod, you might wanna look at the kong rod
20 lbs or less you’ll be fine. Not for salmon striper or sturgeon
