- One of the coolest products I have picked up this year. A collapsible rod that really feels like a one peice. Must have! Kastking makes reels, rods and line and this is one of their best for bass fishing!

If youre looking for a good bait casting collapsible fishing rod, look no more.
I picked this up at aliexpress for $39 bucks, check it out.
Hi Joe..I'm in the UK and just got mine..You're right a little fiddly but great feel when up..Going fishing soon with it..
I am getting better each time. I like it...if seems to load mostly in the first 25% of the rod so I am getting used to casting it BUT its so portable! I guess thats the point.
Lining up those gold bars helps!
Just Bought one , on the recommendation /thought they’d cost much more .
all rounder for different waters . thanks for the well made vid.
I'm in the UK and got the Ranger spin rod and now I've got this one..Both great rods and great value for money..My Ranger has a Mela 2 reel so now I'm going to have to get a Kastking baitcast reel..can't wait...lol..
I am in the UK to and have the kastking Blackhawk 2 and the ranger , don't see kastking in the shops in the UK . But I think for the price they make great tackle.
Mom ! The neighbor guy is fishing in his yard again! Ha ha I do that too, practice. Kastking turns out some slick gear at a price that doesn’t break your bank. Cool stuff joe. Fish on ! ✌🏻🎣
Yeah, cant wait to land one on it.
That’s what ALL of these type of rods need is that line guide ..
Mine will arrive in FRANCE in few days, i will let my advice after Test on French Pike and Perch !
Thanks for this video
Philippe from Burgundy (FRANCE)
Youre gonna love it!
BCSG !! Back at it again , haha cannot resist buying after watching his review's
Dark side true
Hey Thanks Joe Simpson for the closer look on the Rod. Can't really see Upclose with BCSG. hahaha but funny that you said that He costing you alot of money. LOL..
hes very convincing
*The rod itself has an extremely strong backbone but at the same time, an amazing bend **allabout.wiki/z17z** and flex in the tip. The medium heavy tip works well for fishing chatterbaits and spinnerbaits as it has the perfect bend for the job. The medium tip works well for various topwater fishing such as, buzzbaits, poppers, stickbaits and many more. It also is great when it comes to fishing finesse baits and flukes. I would say it's action overall is moderate, and quite lighter than most of my medium/medium heavy rods.*
Good to know! Yeah I like these alot!
i havent seen all your videos but this was kinda funny when you said dressed like a scum bag" had a little laugh at that! Ive always thought about getting one of these rods, do u have a long use review or like a year after review thing. forgot whats it called. long term review
+DeezRMyDays no long term review but I still have it. I use one from Daiwa I like much more. It’s costs 4 times as much though.
I love my motorcycle and I love my baitcaster. This'll allow me to combine the two.
now thats thinking out of the box
Very good review for sure, but I have a question about extending the sections of the rod. Could I use only a few sections instead of the full length of the rod? In other words, could I extend the first three sections and then cast out my bait? Are those unextended eyes movable along the rod? Thanks in advance.
dont think, you may want to use a rod that has four sections that can be switched out...amazon has some. This one is just one extended rod and cannot be broken down.
i have the 8ft. i love it. except my floating guides were installed backwards and dont slide slide all the way to where they should be. but still works fine. i will be odering a couple more of these soon.
Bonita Paint correction and Detailing maybe they could return your rod for a replacement.
i have this rod...it is awsome ...and easy to carry ....
Cyber Axe sometimes I wonder if I like things more just because I buy them or if it’s really good. In this case I really do think it’s that good. Thanks for the sub!!
Joe Simpson yess .it is a good rod...i caught 3 big snakehead on it... and lots of wallago...
I use mine for swimbait fishing it's a 7/1meadium heavy it's great I rip bass out of the water
Yeah they are stronger than I thought. I really have no problem with this rod whatsoever once its set up correctly.
They are great rods stronger than I thought as well
I had the 6'6 medium Kastking blackhawk II. It broke very easily in the center of the rod, at an extension joint. READ THE KASTKING WARRANTY. It is ridiculous. You have to pay to ship the rod to them and enclose $20, just for them to look at it. If they "determine" that it is defective, they keep your $20 and send another rod. If they say it is your fault, they want 1/2 the price of the rod. So, a $50 Blackhawk replacement would cost $20 (shipping & handling) to get there, $20 (shipping & handling) to send back to you, and $25 (half of rod price). You pay $65 for a $50 rod. If its their mistake, the $50 rod costs you $40. No more Kastking for me. They are a deceptive company.
cant say I would replace mine either...thats silly
@@capitolbassfishing I may eat my words. Kastking emailed me back asking for photos of the rod.
Great review Joe! Have you put in much time with it this year? Holding up ok?
Haven't used as much as it's a very niche type product. I did take it to Florida. I haven't found anything as good yet. It's a little fiddly setting it up but once it's set it feels like a normal rod.
What's the durability like? Is it true that telescopic rods don't last as long as 2 piece rod? I'm heavily thinking of buying the rod you reviewed but my hesitation is that it might not last for years compared to a 2 piece. Do you know if the material for blackhawk 2 is good enough to catch bigger fish and still last for many years? Thanks.
Tennis I’ve only had it for a year or so but it’s holding up ok. It’s certainly not tough but it’s OK. 4-5 lb bass would be no problem.
💯💪👊LET'S GO!!! Nice breakdown💯
No Pun intended..."breakdown"...collapsible, get it... :-) thanks.
What reel were you using ?
I think kastking
it was a nice rod till the dam floating guides would move of course and get stuck in a certain position. Was I supposed to fix the floating guides in place? The floating guide would twist and get stuck. So the line would be wrapped around the rod.
no they are supposed to be able to set in place and slide it back out of place when your done. You have to be careful not to "jam" them too tight. if they wont come loose try some reel oil and work with it slowly. Its fiddly for sure - not your fault just have to be careful
thanks for the reply. watched your video again and I noticed you don't have the sheath. Did you not want it or feel it wasn't necessary for it?
@@onlyjuan3828 yeah no sheath but I don't use it very often
Great video ... Is this rod suitable for someone beginner fishing?
I think so! BUT...it takes a little more fiddling arount with it to set up. If you are like brand new...then get a spinning rod set up (I can recommend a few) and start there. I wouldnt focus on portable rods unless its something you have to have.
sliding eyes - floating guides... yeah i bought my BH2 tnx to BCSG too...lol
TheJigFreak thanks couldn’t remember what to call em...”sliding eyes” 👁
Hi, this type of rod, how much weight it can handle?
+soklim rit not a lot of weight but I think a 4-5 lb bass no problem.
i break my rod at the top tips how can i do now? it falling down and break off 😭
wow thats a bummer sorry to hear it broke. Have you contacted kastking? they may have a repair solution. Or...just take one section off and put a new tip end on. ? I dont know.
Hay Joe, you had chance to use on the water yet? Im really thinking of pulling the trigger on one of these. Any more feedback :-)
I have landed a couple 1.5lb'rs and it seems to work well. Its not one I grab when I am fishing local stuff but I am going to Florida in June and it WILL be in my suitcase.
thanks man, im a backpacker over here, this year done Macedonia, Denmark and Sweden. Got Norway in september. Just swictched over to bait-caster real so this looks ust the ticket. Thanks for the imput :-)
lol I bought one because of BCSG too!
TheHangOut yeah kastking owes him a commission. He influences me to buy stuff!
For sure! I have his orange fish lip pliers now too haha!
It's an inferior product, guides are thin, blank is thin. I bought a BC version and found out that most reels don't fit properly on reelseat, it's not a standard size (I've tried a Curado i, Daiwa Millionaire 201 & an Abu reel).
I became a Lil paranoid n decided to check the spinning version as well, found a crack on the blank where one of the moving guides supposed to rest on.
You'll also notice that the moving guides are not well designed/made, they are made of metal and the edges curve out probably to prevent scratching the blank.
Lastly, the drawn lines that are supposed to help the user align the parts & guides are useless+poorly drawn.
After this purchase, I'm going back to four piece travel rods, so much safer and faster to set up.
I was wondering the same, the four piece is cool, what brand would you recommend. I do hate setting this thing up but so far its been OK. Hoping for the best.
@@capitolbassfishing really depends on personal preferences and intended purpose.
Tried the Rapala Trailblazer recently, decent pricing below 100USD the 6'6, 8-20lbs suit my purpose but might be a tad short for most folks.
Have the Valleyhill Buzztriks spinning n BC 6'6 to 6'10 they are well constructed and a Lil underrated, able to take some serious punishment. Got them for below USD150
planning to try the Tailwalk Outback next 👍
Is this the ML / M / MH action rod ???
Hobi Nonton medium but the other options are available
Hey joe which model are you using? Medium or medium hard ( 5-18gr vs 7-21 gr ) İ ordered this with stealth baitcasting reel but my bad i mischose as spinning rod and will reorder the casting versiyon. My goal is to fish perch , pike mostly. The fishes here in our country are not that big unless to have a boat to fish in deep waters.Hence im not sure to order 5-18gr medium version or MH 7-21gr version , which one would you sugggest? Thanks for great review.
Meleutheria medium I wanted to use for “all around” fishing
do you know if they come with spinner reels
They should
they do make spinnin reel collapsable
Bro where is the link of Ali express?
Indian Fisher I think you can find it now on Amazon.
Kindly tell me dragging capacity of this rod and how much weight it can tackle.( Kg )
Indian Fisher not sure in KG’s but it would easily drag in a hard fighting 4-5lb small mouth bass or more. Once extended it feels like a normal medium to medium heavy baitcaster.
3Kg
Can you use braid with it?
yes, i use 30lb, works fine
@@capitolbassfishing thanks man
Does it's strong enough for handle big fish?
+soklim rit 3-5 lb bass but not much more.
What reel does you use?
noor shazwani mohd saleh I use the kastking assassin in this video.
And it fit? My Abu does not fit at all....Bummed, talked to customer service and he said its something that they keep hearing so send it back. I think I'll try and modify the feet a little on my reel to get it ti fit, but again, bummed!
what is the collapsible length. thanks
its like 20"
10 ' needed
How money?
Bùi Quốc Tuân Bùi Quốc Tuân $40
@@capitolbassfishingsent to Viet Nam?
Is it good for pier fishing ?
Raymarkable I wouldn’t recommend lifting anything real heavy with the rod. Plenty strong for catching fish though.
could be too weak to lift a heavy fish very high
