Silverwood Lake: Mini Jigging For Trout

- In this video, I take a trip to Silverwood Lake on the weekend to fish for some Mt. Lassen Trout. Earlier in the week, the lake was stocked with 5000 pounds of 1-3 pound trout for the first time this season. Being several days after the stock, I tried to fish away from the stocking area (Cleghorn Beach) in hopes the trout have moved out. Fortunately, after some searching, I was able to find a good school of them in a cove closer to the marina. The bite was great in the morning and gradually slowed as the day progressed. This was easily one of my favorite trips in a long time and I hope you enjoy this video.

Silverwood is a great place. I prefer Miller Canyon because it’s more scenic. Every once in a while they will release stock back there.
I agree, I wish they would split the stock and put some in at the marina instead of dumping all 5000 pounds in cleghorn, but I’m sure a lot of them made it there eventually.
They have stocked at the marina before, but it caused too much chaos. People starting fishing off the boat ramp, and the dock, and the game warden yelling at everyone. It was quite funny. @@SaTanBaits
@@ScoutingWater I remember maybe 5 years back seeing 10 guys jigging the launch ramp in the marina with 20-40 trout swimming back and forth. I told my friend to go to miller and we fished there with a few other guys until everyone on the launch ramp got kicked out by the ranger and came to miller as well. 😅
What color patterrnwere you using? I would like to give that one a shot at my lake!
In clear water, I tend to prefer natural colors. This video I used Green Pumpkin, Black/Purple, Black/Mint, and even gold.
