I'm 3 reviews in and enjoying your show. It's my kind of review show, coving games I'm into, with my kind of humor. Not many people out there covering games in any sort of detail close to this.
I used to play this in bars in the early 90s. I have it for the MVS.
I bought this on the Switch just now because of this video (if it's anything like the other ACA I'm assuming it's MVS version), thanks for the heads up!
Played this game loads way more that that game we are not mentioning and still have the MVS cartridge, i used to play tournaments with my mates on this on the weekendsand once you learn it you can get pretty good at it and 2 player games can get very competitve.
i love the neogeo cd because of the arranged sound tracks there were so good but yeah chip tunes rule as well.
16:20 agree soo much.. FM based chip tunes are more memorable. Maybe why I love megadrive aswell.

Great review. I got this for the AES. I can appreciate that you viewed this for what it was worth for its time. Not easy to do these days. For its time, Top Player's Golf was a fine golf game. It took me a while to understand how to play it. I do like the single bar meter for shots. The two click system for games like NES Golf or Power Golf made it tough to get an accurate shot. I would probably say that if you are not a fan of golf games, than this game might not be for you. Neo Turf Masters is more appealing to the casual player. I do like that you can play match or Nassau play against the CPU, something the other game didn't do lol.(of course no Nassau game for that title)
Another great in-depth review, thanks a bunch! Really love the sound comparisons, they're very interesting. Even though golf is not a major passion of mine (to put it mildly, hehe), you've managed to keep me glued to the screen the entire time. See you on the next one!

Great review. I remember watching some other youtuber criticising another golf game which used the phrase 'nice on' as if it were a mistake and supposed to be 'nice one.'

I think you mean FM sound when you are talking about the music. The PSG (well, SSG, but similar) on the Neo Geo is used for sound effects like option selection and when the golf ball is in the air.

Weird, I have the MVS english cart and there is no caddie option. Was this only on the japanese version? I'll switch regions on my unibios and see what happens.
