I just find the Imperial Remnant from The Mandalorian to be the most interesting when it comes to their story. They're a group of hardcore loyalists that refuse to stop fighting against their enemy and will do anything to deal damage to them and avoid being captured, even if that means they have to die in the process. They felt a lot more believable than the First Order who are basically "Ahahaha I'm powerful because I'm evil and I'm evil because I'm bad and I'm bad because I love one thing, and that's being evil and powerful!"

I still hate Moff Gideon! Don’t get me wrong, he’s perfectly serviceable but he’s the most overrated Star Wars villain in history! He never wins, kills zero main characters on his own, commands an army of useless morons and we never actually find out why he wants Grogu’s blood and probably never will. Giancarlo Esposito CAN be pretty intimidating but the role NEEDS to play to his strengths. In a show with zero gore or bloody, innocent casualties, Esposito is completely out of his depth and, if he can’t play the gory angle, his characters come off as complex as a slice of bread! His motivations and character traits suck @ss and his thought process is copied and pasted from every other Imp in SW: Oppression brings security. Also, he loses the sword fight and his super droids get swept aside by Jedi Master Deepfake Skywalker!
@@metal_fusion Nope, Anakin was a superb cautionary tale about power corrupting the mind (just delete any scene between him and Padme) and Darth Vader was a ruthless, intelligent enforcer of the Emperor that never lost control of himself or others during the OT!

I joined 7 years ago. The empire are the good guys and really was helping innocent people. The REAL problem was the Sith and Jedi they are the ones who started wars and got other innocent people and planets involved

One again Tamara Ryvora is a good example of subverting exception the right way(something a certain movie fails to do). She was a fanatic believer of Empire and First Order. I can Sympathize and understand her. She went through her struggles by her wanting to be a pilot to be a somebody through hard work and honesty. A lot of surviving Clones were fanatical Imperials, especially the last few batches of Clones, who were raised and trained under the Empire! Many Clones died on both Death Stars, as the Clones still made up a large and prominent minority in the Imperial military even by the time of the Battle Of Endor and Jakku!

One thing that I always thought is that after the fall of the Empire the settling of scores must've been something horrible. Given how the Empire was so hateful and opressive it's not hard to imagine that on many worlds, those who belonged to the regime apparatus or simpathyzed with it must've been hunted down mercilessly after the Empire hold came crashing down.

Nevertheless, there's not been that many enlighted and responsible dictators around the world. Last Queen of Brits is one that comes to a mind, but not many others. However if there's a good dictator that rules with reason and passion then the only problem is succession. Being son of a king doesn't make you a good king, being extremely loyal, responsible and able to listen and relate to worries of your common people is what makes it. Hence as long as we're all humans and no humans can live forever, the next best thing is democracy.
If magic was involved, then the "12-kingdoms" anime style governments might actually work as well, as long as people living in one kingdom would be cohesive enough to accept common rules and not desire something else.
Another highly applicable Churchill-ism is that "Democracy is the worst form of government - except for all the others."
I used to believe in democracy until I found out how easy it is for someone like Palpatine to made his way to the top and because of that, it reinforced what I've read what Socrates said about democracy. His case stated that the people voted for the butchers to become their leader simply because he threwn everyone a feast while the physician is being accused for witchcraft and secret shady dealing with the unholy demons. So yeah, that is why I do not support democracy anymore because it allowed plenty of individuals like Palpatine to rose to power.

Once you throw humans into the mix things don't work as smoothly. It's why the so many times systems work well "in theory". Accountability, though, is key. Dictatorship, absolute monarchy, and authoritarianism have the least amount of real accountability whereas democratic and republican styles have the most; provided they have enough transparency.

Generally speaking, the closer you get to the Core the more the support for the Republic because a lot of wealthy and corrupt Kings, Queens, CEOs and crime bosses ended up out of work because of the Empire - and they were more than happy to lend their help (and money) to the Rebels. The farther one goes towards the Fringe the more loyal people were to the Empire for exactly the same reason - they were happy to see those same people gone and to finally get some real law and order for a change.
Kudos to you man. I’m fairly confident that you’re not a fluent Ukrainian, Russian or Polish language speaker. How are you communicating with folks who don’t speak any of your languages?

This I believe is the first I have hit like for you, and it's because you are doing something practical for Ukraine, rather than sitting behind a screen talking about things with no first hand knowledge (Ukraine not Star Wars) . For example, Naboo was invaded by the Trade Federation and mistreated by the Republic by simply debating and do nothing about the invasion and the subsequent occupation like at all. So I am surprised that Padme is still hoping that the Republic can be reformed despite the fact that it is already the Emprie in all but name! So yeah, the Republic is nothing but a lost cause in my view because its only way out appeared to be the reorganization into the Empire.

I was born and live in Warsaw, in a million years i would not expect for you to be hear, anyhow many people in the capital do their best to help the Ukrainian refugees, my boss hired a middle aged woman from Ukraine, i like her, hard working, and many were give place to stay in my area, as for me... well all I can do is to wear a Ukraine flag pin on my cap,

Somehow I believe that Lyste was later aquitted (or want to believe it), since both Yularen and Thrawn did know a short time later who the real traitor was. I would say it did not fit the usual pattern of actions of both men to let a loyal imperial suffer. So I think Lyste was held for a time (so that the traitor Kallus could think his plan had worked) and later returned to serve the Empire.
A very good example for a true believer is of course Gilad Pellaeon who played a huge role in legends and may (so I hope) play some greater role in new canon too. Legends Pellaeon did only make peace after many years if fighting to save what was left from the Empire (what he achieved), and his stubborn fight did cost the rebels dearly until that point.

What everyone us talkung about and pushing hard is to just keep the killing going. Specually with the White House stating things that can make Russia think that even with a peace deal. All the santions would not be removed unless Their demands are meet. With all the talk of form most western media is to not stop the war but expand it. There is little desire for anyone stop it in the halls of power. If they did they would give a path to peace that both side can agree to. Right now the only thing the west seem to want is a complete surrender of Russia with Putin removed from leadership. Putin is too prideful to agree to this with out bleeding he country dry. He should be punished for starting this war. But this is going to do the opposite. Its hurting the people of Russia and giving Putin the talking points that the west just want ti destroy Russia. And they are just building stringer ties with China and no one will punish China for doing so.

I honestly believe you missed one, sorta: much like Rae Sloane & a ‘student’ Vurawn Thrawn, the Cathar prince (primarily due to the Galactic Empire’s to put one of his parents into power), N’k V’nsable, was staunchly loyal to the Empire in everything except one: he was more of a Realist than an Idealist; he gave reason to Love the Empire, not hate it; he made more [Light Sided] choices than [Dark Sided] ones, was immune to Most forms of corruption, & was barely intimidated by Vader & the Emperor. When the Empire was crumbling, he stood his ground; he ensured that all Imperial personnel who wished to leave were Protected by him & his fellow loyalists when the Rebel Alliance attacked him. When he eventually surrendered to the New Order that the Rebels brought, he was adamantly opposed to demilitarization, expressing that if they don’t stand against organized crime, it’ll end badly, for the entire galaxy & such…
