I have owned Volkswagens for the past 14 years with no issues. I have taken my Volkswagens to the dealer exactly on time for all of the scheduled maintenance. These are wonderful cars if you take care of them.

I've owned a 2019 Jetta SEL Premium for a while. Great car. It's fun to drive with spry handling and solid low-end torque, gets good fuel economy, and I've never had issues with it.
My kids have the same issue as Kiddo with the seat belts buckles. They're just really deep.

Get a GTI. That’s what I did. Never ever looked or even considered a Jetta or GLI. my 2023 MK8 GTI is a league above and has been flawless coming up 2 years of ownership since new. Made in Germany too.

If you put people in the back seat, the Jetta / GLI has more usable space. GTI has better seats.

Jetta does have fairly low reliability ratings, but I don't have issues with any of mine. I just remain timely on my maintenance schedule. And due to my driving habits, I'm not waiting 10k miles between oil changes.

@@bh2155 idk this person but if they traded in a 2020 for a 2023 I think there's a decent chance they're not gonna care about the car long term lol. But tbh VW reliability woes are exaggerated, you can't neglect it like you could a Toyota but a lot of people around me have VWs and they all agree that if you keep up with scheduled maintenance the car will be fine in the long run (unless it's one of their EVs LMFAO)
Worth noting that I'm in Canada and VWs in my part of Canada are very common so servicing them is pretty easy, maybe it's different in the US where I see way more complaints lol

Maybe I got lucky, but my 2019 Jetta S was absolutely trouble free for 6 years and 70,000 miles. I replaced it with a 2025 Camry SE, mostly because my son sells Toyotas now. On the highway the Jetta was more fuel efficient than the Hybrid Camry is.

I'm leasing one of these in the SEL trim and I really like it.
Pros: Great gas mileage 30 city/40 highway. Handles well and impressive acceleration for a car rated at 158hp. Upscale dash w/configurable digital cockpit.
Cons: Backup camera has poor image quality. Back door interior feels cheap. Beats audio system not impressive.

Great review guys! I just bought a 2025 Jetta in Monterey Blue Pearl except in the S trim. One thing I noticed is that you can actually do wireless Apple CarPlay with it. On VW’s site it says it’s wired CarPlay for the base trim but in reality I have been using CarPlay the past month completely wireless. Not sure if VW knows this or what’s up but I’m very happy 😃
I upgraded from a 2014 Jetta SE and I’m in love with this car. The standard safety tech is impressive especially the lane keep assist. Also the fuel economy…I recently took it on a road trip averaged 47 MPG!! For the price you pay for the base trim and what you get it’s really pretty amazing

This is a sharp looking sedan. I really like the exterior color and led lighting designs front and rear. I just really like its exterior styling and even the inside is super sharp and has a modern look yet an older 2000s look and is really feature packed. The leather color is very sharp and love all the stitching. The only thing that would stop me from being able to purchase the Jetta is that huge, low, bulky steering column like mentioned in the video. I have longer legs and in every new car I have owned and test drove I always check my knee and if I bang my knees its a no for me. I can tell the clearance in this would be no good for me by how far that steering column comes down to impede on the legs even in its highest position. Another vehicle with a similar issue is the new Prius which is gorgeous as well but the low steering column, odd angle and gauge cluster placement make it uncomfortable for long legged drivers and the second I sat in it I could not get the wheel high enough and it felt like the steering wheel was in my lap. Sucks! Really sucks because I absolutely love both of these vehicles and they are both well worth the money in my opinion.

The knee hitting the bottom of the steering column is what took me away from owning a manual VW GTI back in 2010. This is a crazy good value for under $30k. Toyota Camry with standard hybrid now is still a better value even with the cloth seats overall I think. Wish this was just a bit more powerful. This is more lux than a BMW 3 series (at its lowest trim) in a couple ways. Cooled seats and leather at this price point is next level of value. Honestly the lack of rear seat vents in a sedan is not the end of the world, much easier to heat a sedan cabin than a crossover from my experience, way less open interior volume. The designs VW is putting out are solid, this is one of the better looking sedans IMO. New Tiguan coming soon is also solid!

The 2025 Jetta has a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder making 158 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque. The Taos weighs more and is less aerodynamic so it needs the extra power, and it gets significantly less mpg than the Jetta. The torque is the same. The Honda Civic 2.0-liter four-cylinder is only 150 horsepower and 133 pound-feet of torque. The Jetta has plenty of power.

You do have to do the maintenance when due and best at the dealership or someone who really knows how to work on these cars.
