I agree that I wish the Passat was still available. I have a 2025 Jetta SEL and like it, but there was something more upscale about the Passat and the ride of the longer wheel base was bit smoother. Interesting thing I've noticed, the 1.5 turbo in the 2025 feels just as quick as the 1.8 turbo I had in my 2014 Jetta and gets even better gas mileage. Overall, a very nice car.
Best wishes for 2025 Anthony! The VW Jetta Sport is a great looking car and well optioned for the price. If I was looking for a compact sedan I would step up to the GLI with the six speed manual. Great that VW gives drivers with different priorities choices. Thanks for your informative reviews my friend.
Great review Anthony. In my opinion, this is the best looking car in the class and is really well equipped for the $$. Of course I wish it had my power lol. If I were getting this trim I'd want the manual for sure. Have you done a review on the 25 GLI? If not hopefully you can do one sometime. The Passat was a great model and I also liked the CC a lot. Do you remember the Phaeton? i mean it was nice but not many wanted to pay 100 grand for a VW lol 😁85 was the high here and I'll take it. My friend in Buffalo said it was 10 there yikes! Hope all is well and that you are having a great day Anthony
Thank you James. It looks like YT fixed the extra videos for the members. I have been having problems with it and I have the GLI coming it is awesome. Great value, performance and it’s still an everyday vehicle. Were you able to see the X4 video posted today? I have had some issues with the membership uploads. I remember the Phaeton! It was amazing but unfortunately it was badges wrong and with the VW logo 100k is an easy no. How is your back feeling? I hope no wildfires are around on your side. Kids went to my parents for the weekend so I couldn’t get them for the livestream but it went well. Happy Saturday James
@@HawkeyeRides Oh I look forward to seeing your GLI review! My back has been a lot better thanks God. The shot really did so much good but it lasts for so long. Next step is to talk to a surgeon and go from there. Thank you for asking. It's still super dry here but no wildfires thanks God. Oh do your folks spoil the kids? I have a feeling they might lol. Have a good one Anthony
Picking up my SEL, or Highline with sport package up in canada, soon. Pretty nice car, oddly enough almost got a 2023 A4 teknik and truthfully... the cars felt almost the same until i hit 120kph. The extra 10k for the A4 wasnt worth it for me when the SEL/Highline with the sport package was so similar
Are the front seats different in the Sport over the S model. VW calls the front seats sport comfort seats in the Sport. Are they more firm, more supportive? I know the cloth is different and the piping and the pattern but is that all that is different?
Own a 2024 Jetta Sport manual. Only 2 negatives, but they are pretty big. 1) In the heat of the summer, that 1.5 engine bogs like crazy from a stop. To the point of being dangerous. You get used to it in the manual and can rev it out. Can't do that in an auto though. 2) The 4 speaker stereo system is one of the worst out there. And they don't make it easy to upgrade. And the cost to upgrade to even a decent sound system is several thousand dollars. That's a lot to put into a $23K car. The best trim as you mentioned, is the SE with no sunroof or wheels package. That MSRP is just under $25K. VW's current $1000 cashback plus dealer discount becomes a great deal. And their cashback can go as high as $3000. (June 2024) My MPG on the highway is 47+, so over 600 miles on a tank. Just a great car overall. Excellent review BTW!
I love the Jetta but you can’t ignore the history of unreliability vs Toyota, Honda and Mazda. I actually shopped a Sport w/manual last year but the dealership wanted almost $4,000 over sticker, ridiculous. Bought a Mazda instead.
@@matthewhenderson5070 I would never pay over sticker and I make sure none of my teams I review with does that crap. Congrats with Mazda great vehicles
you keep saying it's a better deal than Honda or Toyota because it's less expensive. That difference is quickly made up in resale value making Honda and Toyota the clear winners for value and reliability. they price it lower than the competition because no one would buy it otherwise. I hope it doesn't take 3 different torx bits and 20 minutes just to change the air filter
@@liveoak7838 your difference isn’t made up by resale because if you pay more it should have a higher resale as the price is higher if it’s lower then the vehicle is an even better deal. I explain a lot of details too, not only price by the way 👍
I really like the styling on this trim. Cloth seats are so much cooler in the South. Wish they would give the standard Jetta the same tuning as the more powerful new Taos and wish this had paddle shifters. Great fuel economy and prices way below Honda Civic.

When is the 25 GTI coming out?
Should be in the first quarter
I think that the Number 1 in the USA is the Civic but this is also not bad. Thanks 😀
