That lovely squirrel running up that trunk (20:18), looking down at his fellow woodman, splitting some firewood. Greetings from Colombia🇨🇴! Here the woods are massive and very wild, not quite what I am used to as an Estonian 🇪🇪. That makita looking like its ripping good!👍
Happy Holidays Buckin and family, Thank you for all the video time spent this yr an all the encouraging words of caring and just plain kindness Thank You, looking forward to another yr, and im really liking the new Dolmar, nice addition to the tool box.
Got my Dad's Dolmar PS6800 out in the shed. Think I love running that saw more than my Stihl 500i. I would love to cut some more with the old boy but we lost him earlier in the year. Looking at picking up a PS9000 shorty. Love them saws. Bloody hard to come across now. Always enjoy your content Buckin. Have a safe and happy Christmas. Cheers from New Zealand.
Got my 7900 just before they discontinued... High compression... I worked in a hire shop 1984.. Stihl, husky n Sachs dolmar were X3 brand leaders.. STiHL have top spot now . I still like vintage Sachs dolmar.. 🤠 UK

Hey there buckin. I'm a city living guy that loves getting out in the woods I'm on a very tight budget what kind of splitting ax would you recommend on the cheap end price wise. I don't do a whole lot of splitting but just enough to fill wood in my fire pit through out the year.
Have you tried looking at garage sales? You might find something decent enough for cheap, then take the time to sharpen it properly and it'll last for a really long time.
I do have a couple of cheap ones that I used to ask roots in the ground when I did concrete work to set forms. I didn't know if there is a certain style head that's better for splitting or just anything. Thanks for the info 👍🏻🇺🇸
This is the fastest chainsaw I’ve ever seen! I don’t know if is a video effect or stuff like that but seems to cut very FAST! Obviously according to the BBR’s legendary sharpening method!
Man that Dolmar is singing. Not once did I hear it getting chocked out it stayed high in the rpm’s and asked for more. I think if Dolmar’s were properly advertised you would see way more people use them.
I grew up with Makita in professional woodworking with my grandpa. Japanese folks know how to make tools! Especially hand tools that cut. When I visited Japan I bought a kitchen knife from an 800 year old store. Absolutely the best knife I've ever used. Never considered a Makita chainsaw though!
@buckinbillyray I had one of those makita's new off the shelf with a 20" bar. I was buckin logs at the yard with it. In stock form that saw will hold its own. Dolmar for the win today in my opinion.
Buckin, I have enjoyed watching you sharpen chains with a hand file. Can you show some tips using an electric grinder? just started watching your show this year and I’m really enjoying it. Thanks for what you’re doing!
You live in a beautiful part of this world and I would like to spend 6 months to a year in I could talk chainsaws all day with you and axes as well I've been in this field for 43 years now Billy
I was working up in Kalamazoo when Makita bought Sachs dolmar, the shop I was at we sold orange and black and all orange dolmar chainsaws there are very fast powerful machine
Funny you mention the calluses going soft. I'm sitting here with second degree steam burns all over my right hand wishing I could be outside swinging an axe. At least I can watch you do it
Ouch.... spent 4 days in the burn unit back in 84 ...hands have all those nerve endings in them... more nerves, more pain Silvadine cream was the go to back then. Took lots of vitamin E and slathered it on heavy for months. ✅
Hey Buckin I wish I had the money to get one of ur axe's cause I've got a pull of wood outside that I have tried to bust up and every axe I've had I broke it and just left the wood alone cause where my health is not good I wasn't going to stand out there and try to figure something out when I didn't have a good axe and that was nice where u got to meet Clay Walker I grew up listening to his music and always loved his music and what he did for people that needed help with and u be safe and always be careful doing what u do each and every day in the woods buddy
@@BuckinBillyRaySmith Fortunately I don't need any more saws , it's only my few acres I need to look after , as well as my existing petrol saws I added a DeWalt battery pole saw and a DeWalt battery chainsaw , not pro gear but good for my needs around here . Sometimes I hate washing the dirt off my hands thinking they'll soften up. Same with guitar fingers. 20:15 Squirrel!!! I've had my trusty Sachs Dolmar 6400 for 12 years and it works as good as the day I bought it. Glad you finally got yourself one.
It sounds so good man!
I recently picked up a Sachs Dolmar 120, 68cc. Love it!

Thanks for that info. No dolmars around here.
Yep, and makita has owned them for over a quarter of a century now. Too bad they are done with gas powered equipment.

Thanks buckin I knew as soon as you posted this the saw I was watching on eBay would sell lol people love to copy you😂
That blue/black color scheme on that saw looks bada$$!
This just might be my new favorite saw on this channel! We need a race between this one and the Ramshorn exhaust husky!
That saw works good im suprise by makita . Have a good one buddy !

Sadly, Makita, Milwaukee, Dewalt and most other woodworking tools are now made in china... 😪
@@bbarker5766 Yeah it's really too bad. Grab the good stuff when you can!
IIRC this Makita is actually a Dolmar in Makita colors. Not trying to take anything away from it. I still want one lol.
makita bought dolmar, and called them makitas. they are german saws, never made in japan or china.
@@mikecolligan2829 Learned something new today. :) thanks Mike!
That idle pinging on the 266 is oh so familiar. It was the first big saw I bought and most surprising was the pinging and how low the idle can be
I have to say that Makita Dolmar saw is mighty pretty . It has a very feline design .
My grandfather Is giving me a mac 610 for Christmas and the first thing that came to mind was you
Dolmar the best!!!!!!!
Yes
Dolmar....🇩🇪😎
🇩🇪🇩🇪 Dolmar
It does have the worst name tho. 😂
You mean makita lol.
Doesn't matter now, their done with the gas power equipment.
Man that Makita is a nice saw!
Thanks for another great video!
Fantastic video buckin
Hey Buckin!
I think about buying a 500i, but makita seams also pretty wild OMG!!!

Hey buckin, that makita uses a single D for tuning the high jet. You can get them online or I'm sure donny has one somewhere
I got two makita chainsaws ea6100 and a dcs7901 awesome saws.
I was working up in Kalamazoo when Makita bought Sachs dolmar, the shop I was at we sold orange and black and all orange dolmar chainsaws there are very fast powerful machine
I saw the rooster tail a few times. Wow sharp and powerful.
That saw cuts beautifuly!
Hey buckin , I think that Dolmar was not only faster but was running better. But I don't run saws much but that was my take on it.
looks like a highland bull
That Dolmar sounds incredible. I've got to get a custom pipe on my 7900...
Hello, great vidéo thanks which model it is? Thanks
That dolmar is a nice saw the husky was a beast
Does the Myrtle have power steering or just the Armstrong style classic humongous steering wheel???

Sounds great
Buckin, what is it about the alder that will get you. Does it break apart on you or drop a widow maker on you?
Just got my Makita Dolmar saw here in Australia $1400 odd dollars here . Comes with 24" bar . It's hardwood here so much heavier and harder
That's $1,000 aud cheaper than a Stihl 500i which is also 79cc . That seems excellent value for money .
I got mine for $1047 with a 250 cash back in qld Jan 22 awsum saw nearly same grunt as 066
