Good stuff. I guess I could donate an aftermarket TJ bumper to a buddy for his YJ after seeing this video..I was also admiring those original YJ steel rims and centers in the background next to the fence.
Must be nice to have a back-up Jeep!😆 LJ looks great with the 35s. I was wondering about not putting sway back on. I think I have same issue with my probably original front driveshaft. I didn’t replace it after regear and lsd but I did replace the ujoints. Hey I don’t know if you get much vibration/movement on your tire carrier, but I have the EAG trinagulted one like yours and put a hiemjoint bar attached to a piece of angle iron I attached to the stock spare carrier bolt holes in the back door and the EAG carrier and gave it a third point of contact. Made it rock solid.
@@dkhallal double the Jeeps double the expenses lol. The Smittybilt on my YJ doesn't rattle unless I hit a washboard road so I haven't had to mess with it. I wish Rustys or someone would make the tailgate carrier for the YJ though.
I drove my LJ for ten years on the stock 31ish tires but I'm now on 35s and IMO they are the minimum for an LJ as far as aesthetics and performance go. Also, beauty is in the eye of the beholder but the stubby bumper looks better than the OEM bumper on the LJ.
Are you aware of the vibration issues with LJs and steep gears? If the driveshaft speed gets 3,000 rpm or more the front driveshaft can be difficult to balance. Tom woods has a driveshaft rpm calculator. What gears do you have? I think I saw 488 and you should be ok but some guys running 513 or 538 can never get the vibes out. Hopefully a quality driveshaft does the trick, but just a heads up if you did t already know. I’m planning on 488s with my 6 spd LJ on 35s, the driveshaft speed is below 3000 should be ok but something to keep in mind.
Yeah, I have 5.13s now but the vibes started after the belly up and got worse with the lift and stock gears so hoping I can solve it with a new shaft. If not I'll start chasing it like everyone else lol.
You’ll love the way it drives with the Antirock sway bar, so much a better ride on and off road.
@@admin_OutdoorEd also looking forward to not kneeling in the dirt messing with disconnects haha

DexJeeps did a video recently of swapping the pistons out with the block still in the Jeep. If it has no other issues it's not a bad way to go at all.
The LJ has a nice stance with them tires and bumpers on it
@@jk_wrangler13 yeah looks way better with these tires for sure

It's growing on me
Looks awesome. Are you doing a direct replacement engine for the YJ or an upgrade?
@@BubbaMurica I can't decide and keep going back and forth haha
Thanks 🎉
👍
the winch off the LJ is more fitting for the YJ, classic made in the USA warn.
@@Tanner731 agree 100%
