Hello Cemklc1907, Thank you for your question. I am not sure of the current wait time for a PRTD but I know that in general there have been delays with IRCC and applications that are made. I truly hope that you will hear back on the status of your application soon. I am not sure how much it will be helpful of you check the processing time now for a PRTD since the website would give you information on the processing time indicating if you submit the application today. All the best with your application. Regards, Nicky
Hi Kyari. Thanks for your question. Since you're asking about a PRTD I assume you applied for PR from outside of Canada. The time from medical and biometrics submission to get a PR Visa I assume you are asking about varies for each applicant and nobody can really give an answer for that unfortunately. The visa office processing the application as well as your application details will determine the processing time so I really can't provide a definite answer to that question. I'm really sorry.
I am currently on an open work permit with a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV), and my Invitation to Apply (ITA) for Permanent Residency (PR) has been approved. I have received my Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR), and my PR card is being mailed to my Canadian address. However, I need to travel to my home country, India, before my PR card arrives. In this situation, if my PR card is delivered to my Canadian address while I am in India, should I apply for a Permanent Resident Travel Document (PRTD) to re-enter Canada?
Hi Sid, Thanks for reaching out. Congratulations on your PR approval as well 👏 You will need to apply for a PRTD since you need to travel before your PR card arrives, but you have been approved for Permanent Residence (have your eCOPR). I personally would not recommend anyone to leave Canada without their PR card but to wait until they receive it to travel but I can understand there may be emergency situations that require you to leave soon. You would definitely have to think through it and see if it's something you want to do as there may be risks including the processing time to for the PRTD as well as if you can get an expedited processing. If not, you have to wait for the regular processing time and may be stuck for a while. In the meantime though, you could check the processing time for the PRTD from India and see if you are able to wait while you are there. Not sure how long your visit to India would be but your final decision would be based on your circumstances. I am also seeing mixed information that you can apply for a PRTD before leaving Canada but from the research I did before doing the video, it does say that you cannot apply for the PRTD while still being in Canada. As per information on IRCC's website though, you must apply outside of Canada: "I am outside Canada and do not have a PR card. How can I return to Canada? You need a valid permanent resident (PR) card to return to Canada by plane, train, bus or boat. If you know your card will expire when you’re travelling, renew it before you leave. You can only renew your card in Canada. We don’t send PR cards to non-Canadian addresses and we don’t allow third parties to get them for you. If you’re outside Canada and don’t have a valid PR card, you need a permanent resident travel document (PRTD) to return to Canada. You can only apply for a PRTD from outside Canada. If you try to return to Canada without a PR card or PRTD, you may not be able to take your flight, train, bus or boat to Canada." Here's the link for further details: ircc.canada.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=605&top=22 I truly wish you all the best with everything.
I did my first landing as PR and I started the process after 13 days I left the country to complete my paper in other country and come back . How I can return to Canada before the approval of my card . Is this applicable in my situation. Thanks
Hello, Thank you for your question. My apologies for just responding to your query after so long. I hope by now you figured things out and I'm not sure I fully understand your question. Is it that you were saying you got Portal 1 and responded and then you left Canada to go to another country to complete paperwork and want to know how you can come back to Canada? If that is what you meant, I believe you would have to inform IRCC that you left Canada and where you are and when you intend to return and wait for their response and further instructions on how to move forward to complete your PR process. It is never advisable to leave Canada after Portal 1 before completing the process and getting your PR card as it may take longer to finalize your PR application after you leave before the process is complete, at least that's my understanding. I wish you all the best with everything. Regards, Nicky
Hello Privy, I am sorry that the application submit button is greyed out. It simply means that something was not completed properly and I would definitely not be able to say without seeing the application myself. I hope by now that you would have figured it out it but if not, be sure that you indicated that you are applying for the PRTD from outside of Canada, that you completed all the forms properly, that you answered all the questions and did the declaration and checked any box as well as uploaded the payment receipt. I'm sorry I couldn't provide any guidance as you can understand why. You may seek professional help from a designated consultant or other immigration professional or something qualified to provide such support of you were unable to figure it out. All the best with your application.
Hello Razaullah, Thanks for your question. I'm not clear on what you mean a Canadian working visa but if you mean a Canadian Work permit, there are several work permit types with its own requirements. You must do your research to see which you qualify for and if you are inside or outside of Canada or even need a valid job offer. Here is the link to the information on a Canadian Work permit www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/work-canada/permit/temporary/apply.html A work visa that I know is a visa that some individuals get to travel to Canada of a TRV is needed to travel to the country after their work permit is approved and they are outside of Canada. I cannot assume what your specific situation is so you would have to research on IRCC's website for your answers. All the best.
@@ThroughNickysLens Thank you for your reply. I meant that I'm outside from Canada and I want to get Canadian visa. How can I get work permit to go to Canada and settle myself. Thank you
@@RazaullahZulqarnain Thank you for clarifying your question. The answer that I provided remains the same including the link I shared. You must do your research to find out the options available to you. At this point, you would have to try and get a job offer from outside of Canada from an employer willing to sponsor your work permit via LMIA and go through the process. Those are not easy to get though. You can find and pay a regulated immigration professional to help you or do your own research. Information is readily available on IRCC's website. All the best.
Hi. It's not easy to find an employer that is willing to do any form of sponsorship. Unfortunately I am personally not aware of any employer you can check but maybe see if you can find a list for maybe the Atlantic Canada that can be found by doing a Google search of the respective programs in that part of Canada. It might not be easy to find unfortunately since so many are already in Canada and trying to find ways to stay. I'm really sorry I couldn't help. All the best.
So proud of you!!!!
Thank you so much Mrs. Boothedup! I am extremely proud of you too 😊
