As a ex rein main I concur. It's why I stopped playing rein/tank in general. Supports heal everyone but me avoiding me even had a bap who wanted to heal the ground away fro me instead of healing me. this was why I mained supported bc I can;t play if the other rein gets pocketed and I get nothing. I also hate how needy it is as a tank that needs heals I hate that, which was why I mained roadhoad for awhile before I quit.

The starting part is correct for OW1; however, in OW2, many grav cleanse abilities like Moira Fade and Reaper Wraith Form do not actually allow that hero to escape Graviton Surge - a massive buff to Zarya and her general utility. This change can be found in the OW2 beta patch notes for April 29th -- the day the first beta launched.
Not only buff to zarya, from my pov of a sigma main it's been pretty annoying to have such a large amount of characters escaping from flux, if you were lucky enough you had to watch for mei igloo, zaryas bubble, hog heal, orisas fortify, moira fade, bap's lamp, reaper fade to this point it becomes really hard to track all of that abilities for every enemy team member
That would be an interesting concept for a puzzle custom map where you and an zarya have to work together to get rein to shatter a target in increasingly difficult locations

Yellow floodlight on Ilios ruins, little roof in spawn on the 3rd point of kingsrow and other simular places I just don’t get how it works or does it only target sharp edges idk who knows?
Widows grapple i think is a hybrid between balls grapple and reaper/sym TP and mei wall. attaching to closest ledge to your crosshair & closest surface area (wall or floor). I hope this helps explain widow grapple.

CC is to general of a term, do you just mean stuns specifically? CC generally means actions that cause involuntary movement, that includes things that aren't stuns. It just obfuscates the question, if you mean, "why do stuns, stun?" Then the question seems pretty self evident to it's answer.
As a rein main im glad to see techniques like this be showcased more. Always love to play against another good rein who can perform stuff like this makes it more of a challenge.
Coming back from OW Classic, and for some reason Shatter doesn’t have Grav immunity despite the fact that this should have been implemented in the beta, before the time OW Classic is emulating

I remember when you could bunnyhop during a falling Earthshatter, if you had a Lucio speed boost you could jump out of grav by shattering and bhopping just far enough away.
As a zarya main, this is honestly one of the major interactions that make rein zarya mirrors so fun, completely fair and creates so much counterplay and strategy (blocking a grav’d rein shatter feels so good)
I just got this in my recommendations. 3:12 is exactly why I stopped playing ow1. CCs in a shooter based game are actually infuriating since it stops your ability to... Well shoot. It only took the devs 6 years to realize this, while it took me the first 2 heros. (Ana and doom)
The difference between Rein and Lucio can be demonstrated by jump pads: Lucio drops the beat even when he hits the pad while Rein remains in the "hammer down"-pose indefinitely as long as he keeps bouncing. (There are many neat and understated jump pad-interactions because their already situational value is pretty much exclusive to FFA).
do bhopping next! (holding jump when hitting the ground after falling off a ledge, making u jump but not actually counting as a jump - no sound, old rein shatter bhop, etc.)
Now for Rein and Lucio to get damage/shield boosts for time spent falling during their ult cast. Because it feels like it should do something a little bit extra if you're gonna leave yourself vulnerable in free-fall going with a top-rope Hammer/Beat drop.
Also after the zaria buff that disables some ability in grav (like Blink) was introduced. You used to be able to shatter and then hold shift to always charge out of Grav. This was Patched later.

Amazing video as always, this is the best OW content out there. idk what your workload is like right now with the beta inaccessible, but would you consider making a video about Lucio's beat cancel? It's one of my favorite techs in the game, although it seems like it may be absent in OW2? To clarify, if you're unsure what I'm referring to, beat canceling happens when you start the sound barrier animation next to an elevated ground plane and land on top of the higher surface before you would have landed on the surface where you started. It speeds up the beat drop animation and causes the barrier to come out sooner. You can perform it mid air, on slopes, and on certain payloads. I haven't seen anyone else take a comprehensive look at the tech so I'd love to see your take on it!
I played a game on Lijang Tower Garden. The rein got booped off the bridge right as he shattered and zarya grav’d. I was really confused because the grav got the environmental kill credit, but didn’t pull him enough to save him. I guess this is what happened

At 3:12, road hogs ult can actually prevent a rein ult if he keeps rein mid air with the knockback.

you can escape a grounded grav with earthshatter via his bunnyhop ability as well :3 I've seen it done a few times!
