Wait this GENIUS! Instead of a boring video explaining why you should join, it's a cool song with staff and students alike, having fun and singing in a way that showcases the school's faculties.
was sent to this video through the acceptance email, absolutely loving the atmosphere. very clear that I'm going to an academically rigorous school but one whose community knows how to live life and have fun. 14 years old, can't wait to be a student next year
That's awesome to see freedom in the Phillips Exeter and Im glad to come to Phillips Exeter in 2025 if they going to accept my application process Wish the best for you ❤❤
You totally should (apply)! I mean, look into it first, ensure that boarding school is right for you, and more specifically, that PEA is right for you. If you find that this would be a good (long term!) fit for you, definitely apply. It's totally worth it and even if you don't get in, the application and interview experience gives a lot of great exposure.
@@kaitlynfleming1971: Of course! I stand by saying that you should undoubtedly apply, as you don't stand to lose much and will gain a lot of experience. However, if you get in or want to start considering it really seriously, here's a pros and cons list. Hope this helps: PROS: accelerated education, independence, learn to executive function, preview into college, hobby/extracurricular opportunities, global perspectives & meet a lot of new people from all over, academia outside of the classroom. CONS: fees, having (nearly) total choices/control over executive functions can cause downfall, miss out on regular high school experience, homesickness, presence of unescapable bullying if you get into that. NOTE: support systems are immensely important. Some boarding schools (including Exeter) have GREAT support systems, others don't have any. If you're looking at a variety of boarding schools, take this heavily into account. You should definitely have a support system wherever you go.
You should. I applied to lots of these schools and I can tell you that I feel like I have an extreme edge-up in college admissions because of it. You get to know what it’s like to sit down for a huge standardized test, you get practice with recommendations and interviews and essays. Honestly, if you have the resources to pay fees, I’d apply for the heck of it even if you don’t really want to go. The experience you gain is invaluable.
Benjamin Patrick i respectfully disagree that you should apply even if you don’t want to go because it could take opportunities away from someone who really wants to go but i do agree that it is great practice.
I’m going try hard in 8th grade and making a website and with my act score of 26 it would probably get me in for the 9th grade year. Work hard and it will pay off...
Aditya Deora I also got it too lol but I’m going to a private school near me called cranbrook instead since my parents want me to go there and I got a good scholarship there, let’s keep in touch lol
Just be yourself. I know it sounds cliche, but it's honestly really helpful. And I also would study as hard as you can for the standardized tests. Varsity tutors has some free stuff.
