I cannot stress enough how much I absolutely love when I hear Black people speaking in their true authentic accent, that is unique to where they come from…..specifically relating to the south!!!! You have no idea how refreshing it is to me, as a Black person from the south, to hear us speak without “code switching”.

I love what she said about joyful art. Often when I’m searching for black art for my home , it’s sad, or based in trauma. And while those pieces to reflect a dark part of our history, I desire to be surrounded by images of black joy, peace, and happiness.
