Thank you for this video. I work at a factory and I chew through gloves very quickly, typically breaking down quickest through abrasion and slicing. I will have to get a pair of the Milwaukee! I've been using the Wells Lamont Hydrahide but this video has given me a new perspective. If you haven't already done a video on it, what about one on the best safety sunglasses? Abrasion resistance, puncture resistance, shatterproofing, hardiness of frame construction, etc. Thanks again!!
@@DMSparky +1 for mechanic being terrible. I spent a little more than I normally would hoping they would last and after 2 weeks threw out $35 gloves. I've been using $2 pvc gloves for nearly a month now. I'm just using ratchet straps! It's not hard work!
I love how thorough your tests are, so we can make the decision about what to purchase based on specific performance rather than trying to rely on Amazon reviews that comment on how nice an item looks.
Absolutely! What may be right, overall for one worker may not be the case for another. And he absolutely helps us make informed decisions, with this in mind.
"I'll be wearing these gloves as I put my fingers into this trap. I have my decibel meter 5 ft away and will measure how effective these gloves are by how loud I yell."
Interesting test! I work for Mechanix Wear and just want to point out that there are many aspects of a glove that can make it “the best” in someone’s eyes. Mechanix Wear offers a full range of gloves to choose from. Cut resistant models, high abrasion, needle stick, grip, FR, high dexterity etc.. I’d suggest to check them out and choose the perfect glove for your needs. 👍
I wear Kevlar and steel fiber gloves at work. Remember kiddos, when things are advertised as "resistant," it really means "to a degree" and "your mileage may vary." The best protection is prevention. You can't lose fingers if you don't stick you hand where it's not supposed to be. (Mostly)
@@robotpirateisland3430 company I work for uses Hyflex gloves. We required to use level 4 cut gloves. I like the feel of them and they provide good protection. The Milwaukee brand consistently scores the best or close to it in many of your tests. Thank you for putting in the time for us to know that price tag isn’t just brand naming!
Watch more PF and you will see Milwaukee is usually not near the top. Their tools usually do really well, but accessories such as blades, sandpaper, bits, etc... usually dont fair very well.
@@michaelweems679 Yeah which is unfortunate, I have mixed opinions about their hand tools as well. If they’re gonna branch out into other categories they should make sure they’re delivering the same superior quality or just don’t bother. There’s plenty of average and cheapo brands making basic tools and supplies already, we don’t more options in that market segment. I use my tools for work and although I extensively research all of my purchases, it’s really nice when you find brands that you can trust the quality of anything they stamp their logo on. Researching ahead of time is always good practice but it can also be extremely time consuming, if I need a power tool I don’t have to do that anymore because I know exactly who to buy. I want the same thing for all my purchases. Although for hand tools I’m very impressed with Tekton so that’s somewhat solved. Just wish they were for sale at Home Depot, time is money some days.
Yeah Milwaukee consistently scores in the top 3 on nearly every video where they are involved from power tools, bits, blades, heated coats, and even gloves. This channel has taught me to buy Milwaukee and loctite
Every time I watch one of this guys videos I’m amazed at the amazingly unique and simple testing methods he comes up with. I don’t think many people could so consistently get that creative with ways to test literally anything.
One of your best tests yet! Depending on what kind of job someone might want to use their gloves for, you have shown which brands give specific protection for certain tasks.
Milwaukee offers consistency of high performance. That is what matters. Even if it's not performing the best at some task it almost always comes very close to the leader. Others may perform the best in one or two tests, but Milwaukee is always up there in top 3. It makes you trust the brand and just go buy whatever product you need from them without doubting the quality.
I have almost no brand loyalty but I find myself impressed with Milwaukee pretty often in various testing videos. Thanks again for the usual thorough prep and dedication!!
Lol that's the only form of brand loyalty I have. Long before I saw any of his videos. Because their tools are generally the best and save me tons of money and time. It's a company that cares about top quality.
Thanks for doing this test. As a driver, I wear gloves, and I wear thru every type of glove in a short period of time, just by using them on the steering wheel. This gave me some good insight on which gloves might last longer than others.
Can we all take a moment and appreciate the time and effort he puts into these videos Not only are they all very informative but entertaining as well. Keep it up brother, your videos are awesome and well appreciated!
Your tests are always the best you can find on UA-cam You already made me buy some products But as a metal worker, i would love to see a spark or heat resistance tests on these gloves Still give you a thumbs up for all the work, efforts and methodology that you put into your tests 👍🏻
Ya, thinking about the pile of work gloves I have that just don't quite measure up. Now I have a pretty good idea of what gloves can withstand instead of just buying blind.
I actually use those endura gloves at work in a chemical plant environment. One additional plus is they are basically waterproof I actually hose mine off if they become contaminated
You are the STANDARD on UA-cam for product testing. All of your test methods and, relevant targeted testing of the "said" product are on point. Excellent, Excellent, Excellent !!!!
Thanks. Based on your results and the type of work that I do, I chose to go with the ironclad gloves. A different version but very similar. They've been holding up rather well and I'm happy with them overall.
I love that you not only make these, but that you also take the time to research testing standards for the products, like using 180 grit sandpaper for the abrasion testing. So awesome. Thank you.
I finally managed to get a pair of Milwaukee demo gloves a fee months back when I was at Lowes. These guys are so elusive nowadays. I can tell you they are pretty comfortable too. Thanks you so much for all that you do.
One correction: attaching a 5 lb weight to each side of the glove section results in a tension of 5 lb. not 10. It's physically the same as attaching one side fixed, and a 5 lb. weight to the other side.
The amount of time, effort and care put into these unbiased tests is remarkable. Not to mention sometimes innovative and clever too! Thanks for sharing!
I was a boat builder and I used to use these big leather gloves almost like welding gloves without all the extra material, just thick leather gloves that cover the wrist made by a local shop cost me $35 aud
This is the video for which I have been searching. Thankyou so much. Aside from where they are manufactured, the details you've provided for each glove are precisely what is required (and very cool to add and learn). As a woman in a shop for additive manufacturing, I am sad to report that almost no one uses gloves. I'm tired of worrying when I'll get a wound on my hand, whether it's from the band saw (the platform is too small to use a gripping or slider tool on the sides like you would always with a T-square saw) or from deburring 1/4" steel rods lol. I desired the proper gloves for both daily duties, so thank you!
Honestly the work he puts into making these videos and making each test as fair as possible is amazing. This guy deserves more appreciation. Love these videos make they really are helpful.

I love the creative tests that you come up with to try to quantify which product is better. When I first saw the video title, I wondered how on earth could you test something like gloves. You found a way, like you always seem to do!
Great info. Would also like to see resistance to heat/fire, performance and protection in cold/wet conditions, and comments on practical dexterity. Doesn't matter how tough the gloves are if they're too clumsy to actually use while working!
His channel is always the holy grail of testing. Haven’t found a video yet that I haven’t appreciated the attention to detail and work that goes into the testing
It's always great to find out that the best brand is not actually the most expensive one. I might have to get some of those Milwaukee's for my dad when the Christmas season comes around. Thank you for your continued testing of all these various products. Nobody is as thorough as you are. You're the cream of the crop, man!
That was very comprehensive and the presentation was concise and thorough. Kudos to you and thank you for making my next glove purchase much easier and frugal.
Wow, that was a fast turnaround for when I suggested this just a couple of weeks ago. I thought it would be several weeks, or even months, before you would get around to it. Thank you very much. Now I have to try the Mechanix and Milwaukee for all these honey locusts I have. I was hoping you would try some of the other suggestions though, like Superior and Bear Knuckle. And maybe even the needle puncture resistant gloves police use for searches, and animal control uses for animal bites. I guess there's just too many to test them all. A big thumbs up 🙌👍👍👍
As I said previously, I was going to try a pair of the Milwaukee glove for some work in the bush. I have had the gloves for a while now and I must say they they are holding up very well. This indicates to me that your evaluation process was realistic and the results are holding up well in real life. I know this is a sample of one, but I thought you might like to know.
I’d love to see a comparison of leather work gloves. Also would like to see how the “Vermont” brand stands up as they’re a made in America product. Love your work.
If you ever do another glove test maybe put in a category for wet grip. Thank you for the videos. Been watching for many years. Appreciate everything you do.
I'd love to see one of these tests for Welding Glove durability and safety! I burn through gloves like crazy and I've tried a few different kinds but not very many
They're pricey, but Miller's MIG gloves (not their Stick/MIG) are by far my favorite, super comfortable/flexible but have held up really well and no a single burn on the hand. Mind you I'm just a hobby welder, not every day.
I’m not saying I’m the reason y’all have this video. But that’s exactly what I’m saying lmao I asked for this and he did it!! Don’t hesitate to ask for certain videos he’ll do them!!
Thank you very much! It is good to know that price is a reflection of longevity and protection. I do not use gloves with back of hand protection because they are too thick to use with equipment where the hand slips into handles; like chainsaws.

I never really watched UA-cam until Covid-19. I started watching diy channels and ever since this channel was recommended I have been watching because of the extensive testing that he puts all the brands through, very thorough. Great job, I am hooked on your channel.
He has done a video on safety glasses. Not necessary "sun" but you could probably get tinted lens. Search "Projectfarm safety glasses"

@@CartoonWeasel in my personal experience as a journeyman tradesmen Mechanix are awful gloves.

I like the og mechanix's, can still operate a handgun or use a phone in them but they're warm enough for midwestern winter

Thanks! Good Point!
I wear Kevlar and steel fiber gloves at work. Remember kiddos, when things are advertised as "resistant," it really means "to a degree" and "your mileage may vary." The best protection is prevention. You can't lose fingers if you don't stick you hand where it's not supposed to be. (Mostly)
Do you have a recommendation or a brand you trust for kevlar/steel gloves? Looking for gloves that are more durable and strong. Thanks.
Bummer if you bought the most expensive gloves, lost some fingers and saw the bill on your credit card statement whilst convalescing.
What kind of work can you do with kevlar steel gloves? Walking around looking important?
@@robotpirateisland3430 company I work for uses Hyflex gloves. We required to use level 4 cut gloves. I like the feel of them and they provide good protection. The Milwaukee brand consistently scores the best or close to it in many of your tests. Thank you for putting in the time for us to know that price tag isn’t just brand naming!
Almost any test that includes Milwaukee nowadays, I automatically assume they're either going to finish 1st or 2nd. Another high quality test!
Thank you!

You are welcome! Glad to hear!
One of your best tests yet!
Depending on what kind of job someone might want to use their gloves for, you have shown which brands give specific protection for certain tasks.
Thanks!
Thanks for the feedback.

One correction: attaching a 5 lb weight to each side of the glove section results in a tension of 5 lb. not 10. It's physically the same as attaching one side fixed, and a 5 lb. weight to the other side.
