It was a treat to talk with him. I actually got chills when he told about Lennon and Elton in New York. The full legth interview is even better. Thanks for watching!
Stuart certainly was in the right places at the right times in his musical career! Great rare EJ photos. He reminds us of the importance of Gus Dudgeon in helping create that classic Elton sound between 1970 and 1976... Thanks for posting!
While Elton's music career was upward and onward, his personal life suffered another tragic loss, of his friendship with John. In the beginning, the tragic synchronicities of his family and emotional life seem to have helped fuel the synchronicities of his musical success.
I really enjoyed Stuart Epps's insights into Elton, the Beatles & Led Zeppelin. He is right about that special period around 1964-1975. Just think of all great albums by the Kinks, Zombies, Byrds, Buffalo Springfield, Dylan, Hendrix, the Who, as well as Elton John, Led Zeppelin & the Beatles.

Really enjoyed this interview. I love all the music discussed here, Led Zep, Elton, Stones, Beatles..... Btw, he seemed to say Jimmy Page struggled to play lead at times but was really good at producing. Care to add to that sentiment. I thought Jimmy was one of the best guitarists of this Era. Thanks Jon, your interview style is fantastic!!
Thanks for watching and for the kind words! Jimmy is an incredible guitarist. However he’s recognized as one who tries to play faster than his fingers will allow. He can get a bit sloppy sometimes. I think that’s what Stuart was talking about. But that’s part of what’s so great about his leads; they sometimes have a recklessness that makes them thrilling!
@@JonBlackstone Got ya. His solos take me out of my mind to a new world sometimes. Guess it's sometimes good to be a novice when listening to music so I don't see all the flaws lol. I appreciate you replying. Have a great Christmas and New Year.
Brilliant. And nice catch on the Tony King detail!
Thank you very much! Sometimes I’m surprised by the stuff I know.😂 I’m sure you’re the same. Thanks for watching!
I get goosebumps on Here And There when Elton announces Lennon. If only they'd filmed it.
Me too. My full length episode contains more of the first song. I tried to give the impression of being there. Thanks for watching!
Love your interviews and love hearing these stories
