    This woman makes me feel proud to be Black! Thank God for her great memory, commitment, and spirit to this most essential history in Savannah. I trust that this video will spark others to pursue black history. She is truly a celebrity here.

    You are right about people not mentioning anything that alludes to slavery in Savannah. One example is this. When on a tour of the historic houses, I asked what the bars and locks under the porches were for. The guide knew, "To lock the Negroes in a night." I have been on many of these tours over the years, but no guide ever mentioned this before.

    This video was everything. I have learned so much. I began doing my ancestry research and my 3x Great Grandfather was born to an enslaved woman in Savannah and there are so many more family members that came from Savannah who were pillars of the black community. I would love to travel there and learn more! Luten is the last name of my ancestors from Savannah.
