The real "old" Salem is really Danvers, MA, but who's counting? The Rebecca Nurse House in Danvers is a major must-visit Salem witch historic house and museum.
I visited this place in the later 1990s with a gang of the usual suspects of the Lovecraft Mafia (such as it was then), including noted weird fiction expert and author S. T. Joshi, and it was a riproaring visit with plenty of laughs. They show a great movie on premises, about the house and grounds, and the Witch Trials, etc.

Now that i hear this history again, i strongly feel that the slave was responsible for this hysteria. She came from the caribbean which is infamous for witch craft. I believe she played the Puritans against each other maybe as a form of revenge for being enslaved. The slaves were not as stupid as people back then thought. I'll have to read the crucible again but im pretty sure the slave jump started all of the hysteria and everyone followed suit. I am very awe struck that this type of hysteria can easily be stroked. Especially in a place like MASS.

Sorry for the tirade but seeing the mask made me wish people were still wearing masks. My friends and I have compromised immune systems and even though it’s 2023 and everyone thinks COVID is over, we are getting sick almost weekly and our jobs are requiring that we take COVID tests each time. Further, when I get COVID it goes straight to my lungs and I have to get special or go to the hospital to prevent dying. 3000 people a week are still dying and a lot of them are vaccinated but immunocompromised. The only way to save our lives and keep us from becoming ghosts is if everyone still wore masks indoors.
How could you live in a state with a town that has the most haunted history ever and be scared of paranormal or 'witchy' activity lol. Sorry your in the wrong place.
