- We wanted to challenge our friends at GCN & GMBN to a Christmas ride with a twist! Manon and Conor from GCN, & Rich from GMBN donned a festive get up and take on the 6 hills of Bath, but it won't be straight forward - who will win!?

Well it was up hills and only 30 km which isn’t long compared to some XC marathon events

I have a version of this challenge, around my house, that I do.
6 flats of my area, slowly, with stops, and make sure I only do the 1 flat.
So weird seeing Rich on a road bike.

Those hills take me back to when I was a youth in Bath training for Cross-Country. Props to Rich from GMBN. What a result!
As a Canadian i ride in cold and snow without hesitation. I do not ride in the rain. Its the worst.

What a trip down memory lane!! I was at Bath Uni from 76 to 80. One of the "rag weeks" I cycled 10 hills! And in my 3rd year I went up Brassknocker every morning to get to class! I think I had a 42/24 max and I even rode a 42 /18 OMG!!!

Lived on Bathwick Hill for 7 months, brought back some happy memories. Ran up it a few times, much preferable was a bimble along the canal 😇

Also, 860 meters in 30 km isn’t really much. We have our local MTB track of 5 km which has 220 meters. So within 20 km we would already have more meters than in this challenge. And that’s in The flat-as-a-pancake-Netherlands! 😎

06:30 - You people are all profesional cyclist yet none of you have ever heard of low gears? Small chainring on the front, big cog on the back. Pedal with high cadence, low speed, lots of power. That's how you avoid ending up in that situation. *shaking my head*...
If you look closely at 6:32 just as the bike falls sideways you’ll see Conor is in exactly that gearing. I think these guys know how to ride a bike. *shaking my head*
God i hate when they don’t stick to the rules. Manon and Connor should have won the push competition!!! I can’t stress the many problems with this video.
