Great run! One tip i will mention is the importance of the Zoltan crew members. They are a free power upgrade so their 60 scrap cost is actually more like 35 ish, and due to the way they constantly power their station, having 2 of them in shields will prevent the last layer of sheilds from being affected by ion shots. This is crazy helpful against the final bosses ion attacks, not to mention all the fights that becomes difficult due to ion cannons.
After seeing the hundreds of "NOT EVERY SHIP TRIES TO ESCAPE, THERE IS AN OBVIOUS 'FTL CHARGING' ICON" comments on your older videos, and still seeing you think every ship will try to escape is some wild shit
I'm actually happy that you named the title "WIN", because ive never actually seen anyone win a run of this (the streamers ive seen play it always seem to end the segment or change games before they win a run). Now, i havent youtubed for a winning run either, since im mostly just ambiently sumbling upon it. But nice nonetheless to know that there's a "reward" at the end of the 2 hours that i havent seen.
Love your videos! Can you do more Zoo Tycoon and Roller Coaster Tycoon content? Those videos are by far my favorite. Part of it is definitely the nostalgia of having played both games growing up. A full series playing through each game would be especially awesome!
FTL was how I found your channel and I absolutely love this game, it's great to see you play it again! Have you considered finding a moder to make a multi-player mod? Seeing you play this with a group each controlling an aspect would be awesome, or even a head to head after a few galaxies
Rebel flag ship is like the death star, absolutely destructive yet fatal design flaws, sure lets ISOLATE ALL OUR GUNNERS. Fantastic idea Jim you get a raise!
Seeing you use the mouse instead of the key for that system-Shift+key hurts my soul; it helps notice when power enters and leaves a system but it just hurts.
I’ve run it a bunch of times, the chain laser isn’t better than the burst laser but when used together it’s easier to sneak shots through the shield later in the fight. Most fights go at least three volleys and if you’re laser spamming most have a charge time of 10-12 seconds which means the first volley at 16 seconds is not that much worse and only gets better. Laser spam is so incredibly satisfying and I don’t know why.
Cool map, there is also similar vanilla map with alot of ruins and I remember my units geting stuck in them... The random tau ethereal, getting droped in just to get instantly killed. 😅
Make sure to shoot your flak 1 first to open up the shields and -then- follow up with your laser, beam, whatever. On the boss fight the only thing landing hits were your missles and you could've cooked em with those weapons

Why you put that you won in the title? I like ftl ans I like your videos both, but I watched only one where it was not put in the title. Episode loses all suspense. It is like watching your favorite sport team won, but you already saw all results on twitter.

Heh, just started playing FTL again as well. It is a good game, but the RNG is sometimes too much.
Once he finds the multiverse mod that adds dozens of playable ships in ftl he will ascend

I'm pretty sure you can rename the crew in the ship info tab. There should be a page of your crew. I feel like I remember you can rename them there.
