- After replacing the gimbal on a DJI Mavic Air you need to perform a Core Board Calibration. This is not the calibration done through the DJI GO 4 app. I walk through the software installs and commands needed to complete the calibration.
Highly appreciate your effort, it saved me. Spent three days to figure out problem with gimbal and then it was less than 10 minute job. Thank you man .
Mine was also pointing left-up corner after gimbal replacement. This just worked for me. Greatly appreciated!
Thanks a lot for uploading the video!!! Do you know if this procedure also works with the DJI Mavic Mini?
Thanks so much !!!! You turn back to the life my gimbal ! Thanks man !!!!! THANKS SO MUCH !!!!!!
hi, I'm Italian to do the calibration like this on a mini 3 pro, can you help me?? thanks nice video
Hello there I just wanted to know if this software can work with phantom 4?
Halo,, Do you know calibration gimbal for Mavic Mini 1 or 2 ?
Thanks for the upload, this video just saved me. I replaced my gimbal housing because of cracked lens, but used the old camera and wiring. After turning on my Mavic Air the gimbal would not center and wasn't stuck pointing up and to the side.
Here are the notes I have, feel free to copy and paste. Note my locations and folder names are different than the video OP:
Mavic Drivers download (DJI Assistant 2 tool not needed):
www.dji.com/downloads/softwares/assistant-dji-2
DJI Firmware:
github.com/o-gs/dji-firmware-tools
Download:
dji-firmware-tools-master.zip
Copy folder dji-firmware-tools-master (don't extract) to root C drive (C:\dji-firmware-tools-master)
Rename folder and remove -master (C:\dji-firmware-tools)
Install Python3
Custom Location:
C:\Python3
Run CMD command Prompt
Install PySerial:
cd C:\Python3
python -m pip install pyserial
Check current devices (COM[some number]):
mode
Power on Mavic Air
Connect Mavic Air to PC
Run mode command again to see COM number of Mavic Air:
mode
Set firmware tools directory:
cd C:\dji-firmware-tools
Run Gimbal Calibrations (match your firmware location, Python folder name location, and COM number):
C:\dji-firmware-tools>C:\Python3\Python ./comm_og_service_tool.py COM5 -vv MAVAIR GimbalCalib JointCoarse
After calibration complete (about 15 seconds), pick up and rotate Mavic Air on its side
C:\dji-firmware-tools>C:\Python3\Python ./comm_og_service_tool.py COM5 -vv MAVAIR GimbalCalib LinearHall
After calibration complete (about 40 seconds), pick up and rotate Mavic Air on its side
Power off Mavic Air
Disconnect from PC
You do net get enough credit for this video.
Props!!!
No pun intended.

@@bachisquiri its the same codes, and everything, after 3 days of restless research I found this video and just went for it and worked, I bought a new mavic air 2 camera and gimbal, I installed but the gimbal was not able to align properly with the calibration and lean about 30degrees until I did this

that error is python complaining that the pyserial module is not installed. I walk through using python pip to install the module @ 02:20
