A warning to new tobacco growers- some of these non commercial varieties have very high levels of nicotine. Enough to make you wish you wore gloves when handling it.
I was just pointing out Nicotine is a stimulant nothing to do with smoking or chewing. example- Ecigs or patches or gum ...Nicotine is not a carcinogen
that tabbaco plant looks just like our Mullen, which is a wild growing tabbaco, but if you mix it with burdoc root & make a tea, it's supposed to naturally control & medicinally fix thyriod probelms, if you smoke it, it gives a temporary feeling of impairment. those leaves & the flower heads look a lot a like, though ours grows around 3 to 5 ft tall & can grow in all types of soil
It contains harmine, telepathine, a powerful psychotrophe! I am getting into this, commercial tabacco is a gmo to have no harmine but 7 times has mutch nicotine....
I want some seeds, I've always wanted to grow tobacco, but I never found anywhere that sells seeds. I will have to look into the site, thank you! Now I'm excited.
Nice video, we just got through a ceremony and I've noticed its become a custom to smoke cigarettes instead of Tabaco which, I disagree with. I think we should stop half assing it and bring these plants back into our ceremonies.
While I don't smoke or condone/condemn smoking, it's probably a safe bet that the pure plants are probably far less carcinogenic than the junky mass-produced stuff. One of my ancestors on my mom's side smoked cherry tobacco from a pipe from when he was a child, & only at the end of his life did doctors diagnose him with cancer, that's not even what killed him, he lived into his 80s, he just died of old age! Nowadays, it's the crud they use to stretch the tobacco that makes it far more damaging & addictive. I'm not saying the pure stuff is safer, I just would rather have that than a modern cigarette.
Actually the snus company and government in Europe did lots of studies. The company failed and lost in court cause they wanted to say snus doesn’t give you cancer. They almost won. Academics did prove that it’s the fermentation of tobacco that creates tons more carcinogens or increases cancer causing things. So if you dry tobacco but don’t ferment it that’ll be way safer then fermenting it. And some say the modern companies add things to make products more addicting. It’s maybe possible.
I don't often smoke tobacco, maybe a few puffs from a cigar once a year or so. Still, I think it would be fun to grow my own tobacco and roll my own cigar from it and smoke it. Hopefully I won't get addicted to nicotine though!
It takes a long, sustained effort to become addicted to nicotine. Unless you're smoking a few cigars a day for several months, you'll be fine. Of course everyone is different but, buy and large, you need to really try.
Some tobacco similar to that started growing in my yard in Long Beach, CA out of nowhere. It got REALLY tall in no time. We didnt know what it was until the landlord pulled it and I decided to Google it. It was actually a really pretty plant. Wish it could have stuck around just cause I liked the way it looked with blue-ish green leaves and yellow tubular flowers. I wouldn't have smoked it since I don't smoke and the type we had was apparently a bit poisonous, though.
Good for you in being wise enough not to use tobacco! I saw this and was rather surprised you would grow this, until I watched this video and learned why.
You know I find it interesting that so many people think it's actually the tobacco smoke that kills people. The reality is that cigarettes contain 7000+ synthetic chemicals and additives. And 70 of those 7,000+ chemicals and additives are proven to cause cancer. I find it funny also that people will say oh tobacco kills and then they'll turn around and smoke pot. The truth is much different it's actually the chemicals that kill you not to smoke itself. Why do you think the world health organization annual death reports say there's 0 deaths from weed every year yet there's a 100 deaths from peanut allergies. The truth is many people smoke tobacco for centuries and lived to be up to 100 years old. My great grandpa's living proof of this he smoked all natural tobacco to the day he died at the age of 100 years old he never got cancer and never got COPD. And he was in perfect health and what actually killed him was a drunk driver t-boned him in a fatal car crash. My great grandpa even said that when he was younger prior to chemicals being added to cigarettes no one was dying from tobacco at all.
A proper tobacco barn is a specific type of structure. You just can't put tobacco up in any old barn, especially in a wet climate like the Pacific Northwest.
Does anybody know anything about wild tobacco? This isn't corn. It doesn't seem like it's particularly domesticated, even in anthropological terms. Most of these types of plants have similar wild forms.
I grow Nicotiana rustica I have also grown Nicotiana tabacum. Same growing requirements. Tobacco loves a little bat guano. Same genus different species.
Hey Sean. In with the types of tobacco, did you come across a noxious weed called a Tobacco Tree? Just wondering if it actually is a type of tobacco or not.

Bee Wee what are the side effects of nicotine exposure on unprotected skin?
Nitrous Diecast , same as smoking or chewing too much. Rapid heartbeat, anxiety, nausea, diarrhea. Awful dizzy sick feeling.
WHAT!? same as smoking or chewing too much? Well that's a damn lie! Smoking can give you cancer Where as Nicotine does Not!
NashT - I was just talking about immediate effects. Why the rush to defend nicotine?
I was just pointing out Nicotine is a stimulant nothing to do with smoking or chewing. example- Ecigs or patches or gum ...Nicotine is not a carcinogen

Nicotine is the cure for the venom j5bs. Cant smell or taste? Nicotine will bring that back.
Hey, Shawn. Great video as always. Would you consider selling any of the seeds you are able to produce a lot of?
I'm trying to get some seeds also. Please help!
THIS IS YOUR BEST CONTENT YET!
BETTER THAN BOTH ARROW AND MOUSE VIDEOS!
Was thinking about growing tobacco for my friends who still use it, but the curing part's the rub.

Hey Sean. In with the types of tobacco, did you come across a noxious weed called a Tobacco Tree? Just wondering if it actually is a type of tobacco or not.
