My First Pavlovas!

- My cousin Jeff taught me how to make a Pavlova years ago and I even made a video about it, but I still hadn't made my own. It's very time consuming and kind of intimidating! He kept asking when I was going to finally make one. He came for Christmas and made one for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day and I was so bummed my son missed both because his flight was canceled. His last night home, I ended up making and serving two of them! I'm so proud of myself for doing it and grateful for Jeff's encouragement. My girls helped me put on the whipped cream and fruit.

I had oral surgery and can’t eat solid food yet, but this looks sooo delicious!!! I’m definitely trying this once I’m healed!! For now, I’ll enjoy it vicariously through this video! Lol

I first tried a pavlova in a Croatian dessert shop, so I thought this was a Croatian or Italian dish - how interesting to learn it’s actually Australian (?!)

@@MusicIsARainbow I really love it when my mum "ruins" the pavs by cooking them slightly too hot causing the sugar to split and create chewy parts through the base and middle. ❤ Pavs are pretty forgiving, you as long as they aren't burnt you can revive even the flattest, most cracked, misshapen mess with cream and fruit. Try kiwifuit and passionfruit drizzled over the top as well, another classic pav combo. Even flakes of chocolate over top is a nice touch.

cracking doesnt matter its very neat - You did a great job !!!!! but u forgot the passionfruit !!!!!- Dont they make meringue in USA ? you can make them like a crown so flat on the bottom and with little peaky things round so it holds more fruit
