Iberostar Tucan & Quetzal: Complete Resort Walk-thru 2021

A literal WALK-THRU of this gorgeous resort in Playa del Carmen, Mexico! The Tucan and the Quetzal are mirror halves of the resort. There is a jungle wildlife area in the middle, a large white-sand beach with palapas free to use, and a beautiful (deep) pool near the ocean. Pros: The resort grounds are beautiful! Rooms were clean and beds were comfy. This is an all-inclusive resort so food & drinks are included! The staff were very friendly everywhere! Extremely peaceful and a great value (in 2021 when we went). Cons: The food is horrible. The drinks are watered down and the bartenders weren't creative and didn't offer any suggestions other than the normal mojito, daiquiri, and margaritas. You had to ask for specific drinks.

Thanks for the video! I’m going to the Tucan in November. Do u think the swing up bar is still no longer?? And was all the food bad? Or just the buffet? I read the Japanese and a few other restaurants are good.

Last I heard, the swim up bar was open. The Japanese restaurant was GREAT! The other restaurants were bland and lackluster. Stay far away from the steak restaurant.

We stayed on the Tucan side. They are the same hotel, just mirror sides

Hi did you ask to be in building by the beach? I heard main rooms so far from beach . I am so want to be by beach so it is no far away to walk. I have some health issues, can't walk to far . So I am a bit worried

We did pay more for the Jr Suites (in the buildings at ocean front). These were the closest to the beach, but furthest from the dining and main building. The resort is actually quite compact and not nearly as big as the map makes it look. We never felt like it was a long walk at all.

I know you didnt review rooms but I'm curious as to whether or not they stock your refrigerator with bottled water and if there is a coffee maker in your room.

Neither. They give you a glass bottle that you can fill with water at the bottle filling station (next to the ice machine in each building). No coffee maker.

We have been here 7 times with the last visit January 2022 and we have always had a small coffee maker in the room. It is normally stored in the lower cabinet next to the mini fridge. They did switch to the glass water bottles a few years ago for eco purposes with filtered water dispensers in the hallway areas.

@@TheSaturn1997 thanks so much. I just returned and I did find the coffee maker. Hate that i took a small one with me but it all worked out. This place is amazing. Best vacation in a long time
