The @iberostar Quetzal is an 350 room resort that surrounds a tropical rainforest within the gated community of Playacar which is a few minutes south of Playa del Carmen.

What can you expect from your Sunny South Vacation at the Iberostar Quetzal? I experienced first class service throughout my vacation from the moment I arrived, at the restaurants, the bars and lounges, all the way through to my departure. This resort is a nature lovers dreams. It surrounds a tropical rainforest and the team does amazing to keep the natural beauty of the area vibrant and the native wildlife healthy and happy. This is a very authentic resort in terms of its look and feel but also extremely well maintained. We loved the vibrant colours throughout the resort.
There are seven (7) dining venues including five (5) a la carte restaurants. Six (6) bars and lounges will ensure you always have your favourite beverage in hand. There are four (4) pools which offer a good variety for all the guests. There is a massive main pool that steps from the beach. A sport pool that offers a little more shade throughout the day, a cenote style adult only pool that becomes quite lively into the afternoon and early evening and a children's pool and splash area. There was so much to like about this resort and in the video I provide my first impressions, and at the end, my wife and I provided the highlights from our stay as well as a few things that were #notourfavourite. I was there April 2024 1st week. Seaweed was minimal. Great video. Love that you respect others privacy.

Oh, did not stay at Quetzal. I was making a remark about the seaweed. But going in December and Im debating between Quetzal or Allegro. Just seems way too too big for my taste.
@@toolrocks10 I've never been to an Allegro property so I can't help you from first hand experience. That said, I advise my clients to look at what each resort has to offer and what appeals to you most. From there you may want to consider the size of the resort, distance from the airport, distance from local attractions/excursions etc. Let us know what you choose.
Iberostar Tucan Quetzal is our favorite. We started going there 10 years ago and already have our 2025 winter break scheduled. Thanks for a well made and positive video.

@@TheSaturn1997 the jungle setting and staff certainly do make this a wonderful resort. I believe I mentioned both in my first and final thoughts in the video.

If so, what keeps bringing you back? After I filmed the video I did hear that there were some musicians that played in the lobby but we missed them every time despite spending a decent amount of time there each evening.

Hey @toolrocks10 this is a great question. It isn't as close as some other resorts I've visited. It is approximately a 10 minute cab right to 5th Avenue. Thank you for stopping by the channel.
