This helped so much! Realized the temperature was reading lower than actual. Was able to fix it right up ❤
Awesome to hear, thank you so much for watching. I hope you have a blessed day
This is about to settle so many arguments in my house! Thank you!
I have been in the trade for fifty years and I have to say I have seen a lot of installs and that install is rare (and Beautiful)
@@clifffarion7448 hi 👋 I just happened to come across your comment and I thought I'd take a chance....I've recently had an entirely new a/c compressor & thermostat replacement. Since it's been installed the thermostat seems to be doing whatever the heck it wants. Set at 76 - runs until it reaches 76 then stays on for another 20mns. Shuts off. Room reads 76. System set to 76. Then 5 mns later it kicks back on. Both reads 76 but System uns a/c for another 20, 30+ minutes. Shits off. 2-5mns later back on. The a/c company has come to "check the system" 4 times now. Replaced the thermostat. System was set at 76 all day and house got up to 86 degrees. Blew "cool" air non stop for 4hrs.
Now with new thermostat. House got down to 76° from 84° - Great! But it's back to doing this weird finicky kick off for 2mns then kick back on. Even once the thermostat reads the room temp to match the system set temp it stays running for another 20+ mns.
In 8 years, this place has never had an issue with cooling the place (700sq ft condo) and keeping it cool without it running all darn day until it just broke and needed to be replaced. Now with a whole new system, what the heck could be causing this?
I'm desperate at this point. I've searched, called and tried to figure this out. I'm wondering if the a/c company might be overlooking something? Do you know what possible things COULD be causing this?
Thank you very much for your information, it is very helpful, greetings from North Carolina
Glad it was helpful!
That return on cold side is pulling air from the hotter side, should have put the thermostat at the other end of the hall.
Great video!… Keepin me cool like always, Tad. Thank you!
Thanks for watching!
Good movie to explain offset-adjusted from t-Stat
This helps for people who have a thermostat very near to the stairscase .because that area pushes air down or up
The problem with going (negative) in the summer to get more cold run time
But for winter you gotta change that -3 to +3 so it can run longer in heat for winter time
My Thermostat is Loose hanging by wire on the wall from New Build have you ever heard of that before? Enjoying all the video's.
Great video. I learned something. Thanks
Glad to hear it!
I wish you were in central VA. I'd call you. I have three heat pumps, two 18 yo that run great. One 6yo unit that freezes to a solid block of ice and the fan hits the ice making a hell of a racket. The installing company (of all three units) has been here three times and tell me nothing is wrong, the freezing is normal. Just put it in emergency heat until it defrosts...Really?! The old units never freeze up.
I like your idea of moving the thermostat. The OG thermostat is awfully close to the room addition. Could it be getting heat signals from the wrong furnace?
yes it could be
Nice video man I hope I will be the winner for the camera 📸 from va
I want my thermostat to read lower on cool than actual room temp. Do I go +or- on offset?
Are you saying the thermostat was already inaccurate from the factory? It should display the exact room temperature before you manually adjust it.
No
I'm saying you can adjust it
@TaddyDigest in the video you appear to be saying the thermostat was reading too high compared to the actual temperature.
Try remote Sensor operation might be easier instead of relocating thermostat
That's a good idea
Thank you brother
How do i win the thermal camera!?
Nice 👍🏼 😮😊
What if I need my to run longer in the summer time we have a addition but it's 2 degrees off down there which was do I go minus or plus?
I would say plus because then it will read a temperature that is higher and it will run in cooling longer. I hope that makes sense
Yes I did do plus and yes it worked thank you so much. But I would like to ask you what's the difference in doing the offset vs just dropping the thermostat temperature a degree 🤔 just a question but what I did with the offset worked great.
The difference is, you don't have to turn the temperature down for it to stay running longer
That's great I just wondered.
Can you do a video on static pressure, 😃
yes
I’m 3yrs in an I think I’m doin it wrong. If you could do it on a resi split up flow system would be perfect. Appreciate ya like always!!
Why is it limited to 3 degrees offset
I'm not sure
You could've just easily turn that thermostat up too 68
Good work, the customer wanted it done right and was willing to pay for it.
Many times jobs are done according to what the customer can afford. As far as looks are concerned. People like say well i would have done this or that.
No you do the best job you can with the money you have to work with.
We can even have it GOLD PLATED IF YOU GOT THE MONEY. I ALLWAYS TOLD THEM WHEN I WAS SELLING HVAC, BUT UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WILL WE CUT ANY CORNERS. IF YOUR LOOKING FOR A CHEAPEST JOB THEN YOU MAY WANT TO CALL SOME ONE ELSE. THE PHONE BOOK IS FULL OF HVAC CONTRACTORS.
Hi Tad I was wondering if you would like to work with me an innovative ideas for the hvac we could become pretty rich together I need help building something
Sounds good
Please explain how to switch to Celsius. I can't stand Fahrenheit
@Quentyn73 Fahrenheit warms the heart, though. 😉
