Just wrecked my knee on the Chester 100 a month ago.. had an x ray last night and could be a long job.. after 24 ultra challenges in 5 years and turning 60 in August I’ve been wondering this last few weeks if I’ll ever get back on the trails again..injuries do that to you.. especially as you get older..I’m sat pedalling on my static bike watching this..and seeing the footage and your mates doing an amazing job keeping your spirits up in this ultra has filled me with inspiration and hope.. to know that I’ll be back.. whenever that is.. to raise the day on the trails once more.. great film Mia..👏👏👏
@@miaoldroyd8331 thanks Mia.. this is why I love running.. and life.. 6 weeks ago the challenge was to do the Windermere marathon and a week later the Chester 100.. the challenge now is to do one full lap of cow hill near where I live without stopping .. 1.39 miles .. life and running are ever evolving new stories..
Love your energy throughout this run and the “be where your feet are” is a life changer! I applied it the following day after watching your video while working an extremely challenging day at work out in brutal weather. What a difference it made! I’m now constantly bringing myself back to the present moment by thinking these words and they are going to be so valuable when I attempt my first Ultra in a couple of months. Thank you so much and looking forward to watching more of your videos! ❤
I'm so glad I just stumbled across your channel. I've been away from running for 8 years and you've just given me the motivation and encouragement to get back out there. Well done on your achievement and thank you!
Thank you so much for this comment Paula. I’m so glad it provided a little inspiration- that’s truly made my day. I hope your return back to the feet is a fun one.
Love this! So much infectious laughing right through! Great spirit of the whole crew and loved your thoughts at the end. Just being present - one of the many reasons we love ultras 🙏🏻
This is the first video of yours that I've seen, and I just want to say thank you for making this. From your amazing supportive crew and little bit at the end about living life despite your fears, it's just what I needed to watch tonight. Thanks and of course well done :)
Brilliant this Mia.. Wayne and all at GB ultras put amazing events on.. I never come home after doing one feeling anything but gratitude at being lucky enough to have been lost in the moment for the duration of the runs.. the world is more than we know.. and doing ultras teaches us that this is true.. fear is a sign post and not a reason to avoid doing challenges..well done on this and love your philosophy..God bless running..🙏
Such a massive well done on your ultra, and what a brilliant video. I completed my first ultra in 2022, immediately afterwards I was like wow, I've done an ultra, that's amazing and I want to do it again. I reassessed about a week later and was like, you know what, I'm good. Your video has pretty much reignited that spark and made me think that yes, I do want to run another. Your attitude, and your pit crew, made the video so inspirational to watch, so thanks to all of you for the positivity, and congrats again on such a great achievement! :D
Outstanding! I'm crafting a new walking curriculum and will be quoting you, "Be where your feet are." Well done and thank you from deep in the heart of Texas!
Thanks so much - no it's not marked, I personally relied (too much) on GPS on my watch, until it died lol! So I've since done a map reading course (and admittedly, still don't feel confident and still rely on my watch!)
Wow quite inspirational Mia, the video and your thoughts at the end, a brilliant analogy on what its about, I've just finished the Snowdon "big" half and signed up for my first ultra next year, I will take those wise words with me, and what a crew
@@miaoldroyd8331 you're welcome. I've signed up for the Hardmoors 40 its local to me on the Yorkshire Wolds, so I do a lot of training up there, familiar territory. Currently reading and watching lots of peoples experiences trying out different ideas and getting some miles in 😊
@@miaoldroyd8331your welcome, I'm doing the Hardmoors 40, local to me, I live on the Wolds, familiar territory. Just learning as much as I can and trying different stuff out on my runs, weirdly looking forward to the challenge 😀
