I know film and digital are different. But here is the thing, as you mentioned in a previous video, despite been shooting B&W film for quite a long time, M11M will from now on be your main camera. Definitely give us thoughts on how well M11M performs (as a daily companion) vis-a-vis shooting HP5+ with M6.

People hype up the low-light on these cameras so I'd really like to see how high of an ISO you are cool with shooting.

I'd love to see a B&W vs Color side by side. I understand the science behind the monochrome sensor, but I really haven't seen any good examples of the benefits.
Via UA-cam you probably won't. But if you were seeing it on your own monitor it would be apparent.
The main benefit is much lower noise at much higher ISO''s. In other words, much cleaner files. This is because the Monochrome sensor captures much more light for the same exposure compared to a color sensor. The second benefit is supposed to be sharper files but from all the comparisons I have seen, this is extremely minimal and is way overstated. Even if you have only modern Leica APO lenses, the benefit is extremely minor. I wouldn't base a purchasing decision on that (sharpness).
It's hard to quantify, but it has its own vibe for sure with the images. I posted a few minutes ago, asking Matt what lenses he uses with it. Like with any camera body, the lens itself has a huge impact on the end results. The images in this video do not look high contrast, which is kind of refreshing IMO. One man's opinion, but super high-contrast B&W has kind of been played out already. The shadow details look quite insane, and perhaps that is one of the benefits...

I feel happy for you. Most will never know how special this camera is. Got mine last week also and absolutely love it. The high ISO performance in this camera is mind blowing. It does slow down your shooting at first… that is until you learn how to zone focus. After that you are faster than with a mirrorless.
I did notice an issue with pattern noise, but I learned it’s actually an issue with Light Room lens correction profiles not supporting the M11 Monochrom. Turn that off in LR and the images look stellar… even at 100k ISO.
I plan to share my personal experiences with this camera over on my channel. Should have something up this weekend.

I'm not sure if you still have an APSC Fuji camera (x100v, Xe4 etc) but I'd love to see a comparison between one of them and this
It's probably going to be something like X100V gives you 80 % of the features for 20 % of the price, how much is that extra 20 % worth to you

Would be awesome to see some portraits and landscapes captured with color filters. There are some solid videos demonstrating how they impact film, but a modern take on them with a monochromatic digital camera would be fun. Congrats on the new rig!

Hope you cover the viso flex as I am 75 now .I used the M10 that the Leica Store in Bellevue loaned out for a weekend. I found that I missed focus about 35% of the time.
I did enjoy using the M10 with the 35mm apo Could you find some older person like me go out with you and have him or her shot the M11 with the viso flex and them give you there feed back how it worked for them. Thanks Matt

I use the visoflex when adapting R lenses or when I use a lens that focuses closer than the RF can, its very specific

Traded in my M10 for the M11M and loving it. I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on shooting at the different resolutions - pros and cons. Also it seems like it's best to pretty significantly underexpose in high dynamic range situations - curious if that's your experience also.
What lenses are you using with that beauty? Summicron?

This is probably silly, but I would like to see what it's like to frame, focus, and shoot with the M11. I love the concept but I can't imagine how it works with the viewfinder.
Really want to get my hands on a regular M11, but way too many stories of issues with it. Very sad to read because it's a beautiful camera and if it's anything like the M10, it must be phenomenal

I do if they’re too clean. Demander is my favorite for this.
As far as I know they never resolved the M11 locking up….I wonder if the monochrome will brick as quickly?

Going form a silver M11 to a black one was also different to me. I feel my black one has a nice weight to it, but feels a bit cheap compared to the silver version. Not sure if you feel the same way?
I bought a black M11 camera a year ago and find it has the right weight to carry all day. The silver version would be a bit heavier.
I would like you to compare with m10m about tonality.
The boys at Red Dot Forum did those tests. The M11M beats the M10M at high ISO. It also has built-in memory, greater battery capacity, USB-C port 😅for data transfer + in camera charging), and the optional handgrip has an Arca-Swiss dovetail.
Do you think coming from a xpro3 to a M10 is a good upgrade? I have an m6 and need a digital Leica but I can find a cheap M10. I know the 10p or R is better but can't afford them

Thanks Matt, love your work. What I’d like to see? Maybe direct comparisons to film including fine grain film and also the use of filters on the lenses to alter response of the sensor, and maybe how this translates to prints. Does adding ‘grain’ to the M11 images make it indistinguishable from your M6 using HP5+/Tri-X? Thanks.

Yeah I'm sure he has Red Green and Blue filters, so why not. I've seen it done. Results can be good but with obvious limitations of needing a completely static scene.
Do you find the evf more precise in focusing ?
It is with very fast lenses.

I own an M10-D and M10M. I’d be curious to hear your thoughts on the differences and improvements between the M11M and the previous generation M10M.
@@jasongold6751 The M10D is a rather unique camera that I will keep until Leica can no longer repair it. The M10M is a different animal; when I go out to shoot in B&W there is no crutch to fall back on in terms of color if I don't capture the shot. I have no plan on upgrading to the M11M; rather, I see very little in terms of actual improvement other than more megapixels.
Seeing you convert to digital is quiet sad and disappointing to be honest… just saying, best wishes!
