This is the story of an amazing journey with one of the most beautiful pups I have ever fallen in love with.
I received a phone call from Coastal German Shepard Rescue telling me that there was a “Swimmer Pup” who was going to be euthanized unless we got to him in time. They asked me to please hurry, pick him up, and begin treatment right away.
Upon seeing the little white bundle of fur, my heart just ached to get him in my arms and to safety. I held him the whole ride home. He was so still, so quiet...I was concerned that maybe he was also deaf. This little puppy had the most amazing blue eyes I had ever seen.
Once we were home, I began calling the little bundle “Baby.” Baby was so still, so quiet...first thing to do was to give him a feeding of canned puppy food mixed with goat’s milk. He was a very slow eater, not a good sign. Again, he was just so still. I immediately cleaned Baby and wrapped his chest and shoulders in a soft tee shirt wrap.
I made him a nice soft, warm bed surrounded by small stuffed animal toys and laid his tiny body on his side, propped up with the soft toys. He immediately looked more comfortable. I slept beside him on the couch that night in case he needed me.
Once at the Vet’s office, Baby was still so quiet, I held him close. the vet came in and assessed my little bundle. He had concern written all over his face. He told me we usually euthanize puppies with Swimmers Syndrome. I said “I know.” They can’t lift up off their chest, their legs remain splayed out to the side; and they can’t lift their head off the ground.
His diagnosis was that his heart was weak, his pulse was faint. He was limp and lethargic.
Not a good prospect for survival. He told me I can “try” my treatments and also suggested
massage. He said that maybe in 3 months he may walk; but chances are he won't . . . if he survives.
I immediately thought to myself “//I will see you in 10 days” ... although I didn't say this out loud. I took Baby home and started his Acuscope Sessions right away.
Low and behold! He awoke the next morning “speaking” to me...wiggling his little body even trying to lift his limbs. I just know he was asking me ..."More please...More please I feel so much better . . . I'm alive, I'm here and I'm alive! Please don't give up on me." More Acuscope Therapy Sessions were in store for that day.
Yes, I began his Therapy in the morning after we came home from the Vet visit. I did a series of Acuscope Treatments to promote nerve conductivity where the nerve signals emerge from between the Vertebrae along the Spine. I attached plates to treat the back from top to bottom.
Each day there is more improvement, more movement, strength and activity. It really is amazing to witness how fast a little body responds once the nerve and muscle cells are given the help they need to awaken.
He was adopted shortly after this last video by a wonderful young man. We have become email friends and Instagram friends so I can follow Casper’s progress through pictures.

OMG--Is that the cutest puppy ever? You bet he is. He didn't look to healthy but you brought him home. You slept next to him and he knew you cared about him. Since he felt loved, he gave you a very nice gift and that was to open those big blue eyes and show you he was ready to go!! I think you were made for one another. He looks great growing up and I'll bet he is gorgeous now. Hoping you still have that white speed demon!! He's special.

In the wild, natural selection exists because they need to have strong litters who will continue the specie, since there's no humans to do anything. But these dogs are domestic animals. All that pup needed was a chance, and look: He's walking. He's perfectly normal.

ANGELA BARTON I don't use put to sleep anymore. I stopped using it once I was exposed to what it actually means, the truth of it. when you sleep, you wake up. when you are euthanized, you do not wake up. it is simply forced death. we need to stop sugarcoating it

I think your solution was awesome In it’s simplicity. Thank you for your kindness, maybe some others will learn your idea and and act accordingly if presented with something similar. Also, there are other birth peculiarities that ingenuity can address. Why not give it a try isn’t a bad idea.
All my pets have either come from the Virginia Beach SPCA or given to me because someone didn't want them or they kept running away. I have had pets as long as 18 years, and some for 1-2 years. they have all been loved and always remembered. You can't buy love, but you can rescue it. Don't shop! Adopt!

Wonderful inspiring story.
I was wondering what are your thoughts about people who do breeding out of their home. I'm not talking about a puppy mill but talking about people who breed there 2 dogs and later sell the puppies ? I've only come across this one time in my life.

John V unfortunately, this Breeder is one of many who euthanize. Please ask a Breeder their methods prior to buying a dog or, better yet, adopt.
John V , Why? He is doing the right thing.
You people just don't get it. Birth defects in animals are not good.
Even the mother of the dog would shun him and refuse to feed him because weak traits are discouraged.
So get a clue. No one would be willing to pay full price for a dog with birth defects along with the treatment it would take to help it.
How about you "get a clue" about how it is to care? This really shows just how much of a human being you are Ms Temptation.

At the least, you are one of those people who view animals as objects to be "owned" and treated as objects to be disposed of at will. These are little beings with heart, soul, feelings, hopes, dreams and intelligence. They should be loved, valued and respected and treated well. We are not "owners". We are simply caretakers, tasked with doing our very best to love and protect them while we are privileged enough to have them in our lives.
such a brave boy.... i too wanted to adopt a terrier, but when i went to the breeder he said he dnt have pure breed but his terrier gave birth to mix, who looks like Pomeranian... so he was faid up of them, so i adopted that pup as no one wanted to... and whoever did also returned.. i got this pup.. and now she is such a cuttie.. lives happy life... having mixture of pom and cairn terrier ... and happy with us!

the bark on 'day 1' absolutely melted my heart. If he was my dog, I would've never given up on him. Some animals just need a little TLC to get back on their feet. It absolutely destroys me to think about all the poor animals who never got a second chance at life.
