Hi can I use this on a pine table I want to live outdoors on the deck now? I want a clear colour that keeps it as pale as possible is this possible with the clear or should I use something else e.g. danish oil? And would I need to preserve it after sanding? I don't want to use any of the film finishes like water based ones. I want that natural slight sheen /near matt look. I don't mind re-doing it every year if need be.

Can Manns decking oil be used on fences?

Hi there, yes this can be used on fences.
You might like to know Manns have just launched their Premier Fence Oil which is specially formulated for fences but can also be used on all exterior wood.

@@WoodFinishesDirect thank you for your reply. My fence was installed a couple of years ago. It is tantalised timber smooth finish. It has greyed with the Sun. Will naturally remote it back? Do I need to treat with anything first? I’m trying to keep it to a light wood finish. Is your product a paint or a stain / preservative? Thanks in advance for your help.

If it has greyed in the sun and you want it back to a natural colour you will need to revive the wood first. This can be a bit of a bore depending on how much fence there is!
      Two good products for this:
      www.wood-finishes-direct.com/product/osmo-wood-reviver
      www.wood-finishes-direct.com/product/barrettine-wood-reviver
I would also suggest a universal preserver before your top coat to keep out the nasties:
      www.wood-finishes-direct.com/product/barrettine-premier-universal-preservative
The Manns Fence Oil is clear so will only enhance the bare wood below (as in you need to be happy with how your timber looks).
A safer bet might be to use your existing decking oil (you know how the colour will look) as this will even things up.
Or by all means call our Woodcare Experts on 01303477555 and they can advise on other products that are suitable.
