Thx man! I at least can now out-turn fighters in arcade with my spitfire. But realistically, Imma just get some altitude and dive. In the meantime, you earned a sub. This channel is so underrated. XD
I've never gave planes that much attention it wasn't until i started getting extremly bullied by cas that i started grinding my planes. I've never understood the flaps use to put on tighter turns, and i've seen people using it and just out maneuvering me because i didn't knew how to do it. Soo, for pulling out tighter turns i must switch to combact flaps and then put back on raised ones, and do that continously ?
all flaps setting used in combat should only be used in as short time as possible. They can help with tighter turns, but they also reduce your speed and energy. I normally used combat flaps if I can see its just a bit I need to turn tighter in order to get an advantage or to get out of a sticky situation. Take-off and landing flaps can be used for more aggressive turns or when trying to evade someone, but again at the cost of even more speed and energy. The trick is trying to learn if the tighter turning is worth losing a lot of speed and energy. Sometimes its just better to run, gain distance and then head back into a fight :) -
@@8BitDane Thanks man i just have one more question, if i just use the keybind for ''turn flaps'' will i be able to effectively use it, without having to keybind flaps down or up or should i just keybind the flaps down and up ?
Thx for the video, man. I really appreciate your work. However it requires lots of patience to watch you videos. Try working on your voice expression, since you sound like you're about to fall asleep or die :D And pls don't get me wrong. I'm almost 40yo, so I'm not an impatient child anymore, but it still bugs me when I hear your intonation.
Hi Michael, thanks - and yes, I am aware of it, it's a work in progress with the voice, been working on speeding up my speech i the later videos. Mostly when I am concentrating I tend to slow down the speed and cadence of my voice. Ill get there eventually ! 🙃
Within the flaps limits you will turn tighter with using combat and certainly take off or landing flaps. But you will also lose energy faster than just cutting the throttle. It also depends on the plane, some are really good at retaining the energy for a bit even when you cut the throttle, while others drop speed very fast. That goes for flaps too, some designs are better for turning but the plane also loses more energy using them. With cutting the throttle you sometimes turn a little tighter but you can be better off after the turn, while with the flaps you turn even tighter, but have to rely on the engine power to hopefully get the speed and energy back after you are done. BUT if we are talking purely black and white, you do turn tighter with flaps 🙂
@@andynguyen7265 normally if you only have landing flaps, the plane does not need them in order to take-off. You'll gain speed quickly and do not really need them.
The regular flaps key changes automatically to the landing flaps once you are close to the ground and airfield, if that is the situation you are going to use it for. If its for a Top Gun move, I don't think you can do it without going through the single settings.
you sacrifice energy and speed for turning better. So its depended on the situation. If you are 1 vs 1 or for instance you chase one but have one on your tail. Sometimes its better to try escape, get some distance and try again from an altitude advantage. Other times you can use the flaps to intentionally slow down so much that the guy behind you overshoots as well. Just because you have flaps does not mean you should use them :)
Hi Hoshino, you can by altering the angle of attack, so pointing the nose upwards to some degree to still create lift. Just don't take WT flight model too seriously :)
yup learned about flaps real fast when they ripped off in dive
😝🙃
People have mentioned that I am talking too slow in this video, so to reduce your suffering try put the playback speed to 1.25 🙃
thx u man, for accepting my request. as usual very informative video, great help👍

Hi Destroyer, Thank you for the sub, much appreciated ! - glad you got something out of the vid.

Glad you liked it!
Thanks for making a in depth video about flaps
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks alot mate. I always play AB. Changed to play Air RB recently.
Glad I could help
Always find myself using flaps to level myself once I lose my elevator 😂
if it works, it works 👍

he talks so slowly that 2x is actually normal talking speed lol
Am I better off cutting throttle to turn tighter or using combat flaps?

Can you do a gameplay video about the ju 87 and how to use it properly
Hi Agar, I did a dive bombing guide for the Ju 87, have you seen that one ? ua-cam.com/video/Ybf7EDLZKzo/v-deo.html
thanks for your help
Should I use landing flaps or raised flaps when taking off?
Take-off flaps, if you hit your flap key once, that should be set automatically.
@@8BitDane But like what if you only have raised/landing flaps? Which should you use then?
@@andynguyen7265 normally if you only have landing flaps, the plane does not need them in order to take-off. You'll gain speed quickly and do not really need them.

how can i change flaps to landing in one click and not to switch from every flap

Thanks, but I still don't really know when to use flaps I'm combat. The answer here is "it depends". Well... yeah. On what exactly?

pls explain why a plane can fly upside-down if the lift is created as you explained in the video, thx!
