Dude, not all heroes wear capes! I’ve been looking for an affordable way to make my own jig heads and can’t bring myself to dumping a chunk of cash into the gear! I subscribed just for the fact you made this video. Freaking awesome… I’ll be making mine very shortly. Thanks!!
Great information, thank you for taking the time to make this for us. I broke a blade off my old minkota trolling motor, no replacement to be found. I wonder if I could make a mold like this but pour some kind of liquid plastic that sets up hard. Great vid !
Thank you for watching!!! I thank you could maybe by using some type of impact resistant plastic. Or possibly using fiberglass and reinforcement with fiberglass matt.
@@jameshendrick4070 I used worm oil that I use on soft plastics. But you could use a Vaseline or olive oil or even vegetable as long as it keeps it from sticking.
While tubular pvc pipe works just fine. You can heat pvc pipe with a hair dryer or heat gun, etc. To the point, you can easily reshape it into a square, or rectangular shaped pipe!
I use fiberglass resin instead of Bondo for soft plastics because it's thinner and easier to use because it flows into the small crevices easier. I've got a video on my channel showing me using an open pour mold that I made from fiberglass resin and in the future, I'm going to do a video on how I make those.
Great job! As a safety recommendation, it's safer and possibly cheaper to use plaster specially during pouring. Perhaps using heat resistant silicone is the best.
I made it with a 3-d printer but you could make it using pretty much anything. If you really wanted to you could do it without the sprew and drill it out using a step down bit. Or you could carve one out of wood.
Well sonofabitch! Bondo never had crossed my mind for this application. Genius. Cool af man. Gonna try this right away. This video earned you an enthusiastic subscriber. Thanks for posting this invaluable information. Tight lines man.
Have you tried using a 2"x4" rectangular pvc 1foot long & cutting it in 4" long sections. this will make three 4 jig molds. Cut 4 slots in 4" side down 1.25" for the hook shafts, this will allow you to intially put playdo on the bottom .75" thick on first pour. Then once set flip remove playdo & pour other side.
Great vid. Made same mould for knocked off swimbaits. Never occurred to me for lead. Thanks for the upload

Would making a bondo mold like this work for soft plastics as well?
