As a 58 year old learning Fusion 360. You are the best. Might I ad I am a fisherman. Thank you.
Never let them tell you us old dogs can't learn new tricks. 👍
Great job I enjoyed watching this being a wannabe lure maker myself! I make my own flies, spinners and am branching out in to jigs. I recently had a stroke so I watch these videos to keep my hope up.
Thanks for watching... I hope you make a full recovery.
Nice, enjoyed watching.
Great vid series. Love to see how you actually design that head
One of these days I'll make a video showing the process... I just need to find the time.
I'm starting down the rabbit hole on the internet about jig making. So many things to buy to make jigs.
Yeah it's definitely a rabbit hole that's for sure. But once you get set up you can really turn out a bunch of great stuff.
Love the process and your creature bait is awesome.
Thanks
Great Video, Something New to Learn, when your Starting to Fish again after Decades, Now I do Seafood Recipe's
They look great
Thanks..
I love them what a great idea the results are amazing
I would like to try them for walleye I’m in Ohio retired USAF Firefighter thanks for sharing
Gary Demarco 😊
Those turned out awesome! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching.
Really nice! Thank you!
Agreed that gold one with the details is nice!
Dope jigs man!
Thanks....
They look awesome Fantastic job
very good senior work
thank you senior
Very nice man !!! I love the videos
Thanks....
I never thought that you could use silicon as mold for led.... amazing... Great video
I've also turned the designs into the actual molds for people who are pouring lead right into printed molds. Mostly resin printed molds but I saw a guy try it with ABS and it seemed to work well.... haven't tried it myself yet though.
@@TheNeverendingProjectsList you have opened up my mind... I use to make molds for worms extra out of plaster. Thay worked great...but your baits using cad are amazing... I downloaded a cad program and will try to learn it. I will see if this old dog can learn ... hahaha
Try using engine enamel spray paint onto the 3D master mold. It will get rid of the print lines if you want a smooth finished jig. I do that with sand cast aluminum injection molds for soft plastics and it works well! Good video man!
Yeah I've used it on my printed soft plastic molds to get shinier finished baits so it only makes sense it would work for this too... I'll have to give it a go. Thanks for the tip and thanks for watching.
Wow..that creature swimbait is crazy haha. Otherwise nicejob! Love the finished!
Just got the mold for your 1oz jig head. going to give this a go. What would be a really nice is a jig head like this in 1/4oz &3/8oz with a 1/0 hook. Heavy weight small hook for deep lakes like Shasta.
I might be able to make that happen...
Wow !
This guy is a scientist angler ^!^
Mad Scientist maybe 🤣
Those are some great looking jig heads. I love the slit eyes.
Thanks... making custom eyes is a another fun project that's pretty easy also. I show a quick run done on my site on how to make them.
@@TheNeverendingProjectsList Ya, I may have to check that out.
Awesome finished products ! I'm currently experimenting 3D printed molds / 3D printed masters for lures and your channel does help and provide crucial information. Thank you a lot !
Good luck!
WOW sthone !!
I was watching this Part 2 video, as one I came across first, and very intrigued about the beautifully formed lead jig heads.
And then ... I saw the finished products !!! WOW :-) They are beautiful.
It's only mid Feb in 2021 & you're at 2.54K subscribers - I'm not surprised.
Well done.
Ted (Australia)
Glad you enjoyed it!
I guess I'm getting that 3d printer I always wanted. Love the jigs n molds. Great work.
Go for it!
TY,im a machinist,i was struggling with making a wieghted circle hook mold, this is so much easier, will be printing my new mold this week, earned a sub bud, keep up the good work.
Thanks for watching... good luck with your hooks.
What a great series Thank you ! Would sure love to see how you designed the head.
I'll get around to making one soon..
Very informative video. Keep up the great videos
Thanks for information, I have a jig that they do not make a mold for any more. I have been looking how to do it. I'm gonna give it a try.
Thanks for watching I hope it works out for you.
Fantastic , I really learnt something new here. Hemi Fox New Zealand.
Awesome... Thanks for watching.
Really enjoy watching your processes
These look as good, if not better, than the ones I pour in my Do-It Molds!
Pretty darn good. Should work a treat.
This was great. I really appreciate the time and effort to show the process in such detail. maybe I'll have a new winter hobby!
Thanks for watching.
I got a 3d printer today because I wanted to make my own lures and other odds and ends.
Then I learned you could make molds for soft plastics and I was like oh heck yes. Now I find out you can also make molds for jig heads? I think I made a good purchase, might hold off on grabbing another Do-It mold.
I think you are going to be amazed at how much useful stuff you can make with 3D printing.
pretty cool stuff
Thanks for watching
which wire do you use for the baitkeepers?@@TheNeverendingProjectsList
@@getfastfish5020I believe they were made from .040" Stainless Steel Wire from lurepartsonline.com
Very nice
Thanks
Those came out great and the paintwork is incredible!
THANKS
Those were cool jig heads nice job👍
I somehow went from watching videos on how to make your own resin dice to how to make your own jig heads and soft baits. Sometimes UA-cam just knows what I want
UA-cam can be quite the rabbit hole at times that's for sure.
@@TheNeverendingProjectsList Well I'm glad that it led me to your channel. Making my own baits sounds like a really cool idea and I think my father would really appreciate some free baits.
I just watched this whole video! and have no intention of making these on my own... but you had me hooked (pun intended) to my seat watching you complete these nice designs. Great work all around. Tight Lines
Thanks for the compliment.
Great looking heads from a 3D printed mould, going to have to give it a go to make my own designs for these. Great video!
Thanks... I hope it works out great for you too.
Awesome video, finished product is amazing.
Thanks...
Turned out great!
Love it!!! I enjoy learning how to make my own lures!!!
they look really good
Thanks
It's so satisfying when the design and end-product match :) nicely done on the mold, and those jigs look fantastic 👏
Thanks for watching.
these look great gives me ideas on making custom buzz bait heads
Yeah it would work great for that... I've since done some lead body tail spinners and spinner bait type baits too.
Very nice, I've been wanting to start pouring lead
Go for it!
awesome job on the molds and jigs.
Thanks 👍
Look great. Appreciate the detail of your process....
Thanks for watching!
Bastante buen trabajo te mereces bastantes like
You have some true talent there
Thanks
These look great! Excited to try this technique out myself!
Thanks, you should it very rewarding to make your own stuff.
It looks so easy when you use fusion 360 and the jigheads looks awesome. Thanks for your tips and trix.
No problem... I'm far from an expert but I've been using various CAD programs for years so the more you play around the easier it becomes. If I go through it to fast to pick things up just let me know.
Just watched both videos very informative helped me alot 👏
Glad to hear.... Thanks for watching.
Looks great!
Looking good
Great work. I'm working on something similar for the winter lake trout up here.
Nice... Good luck!
Great video. Fascinating...
Thank you!
Wow that’s awesome really cool looking to get into this myself thanks for the help
Thanks for watching and good luck.
Great video
Nice
Awesome! Love em!!
fantastic job.
thats awesome!! i wish i could melt lead to make my own. would love to support the designs.
Thank for watching ... that all the support I need.
Love this content! I do alot of the same things you do. I haven't yet got good enough with cad to make a mold like this but I'm learning. I do have a secret I found that will help you out in the future though. The ladle you are using I have the same one take a lighter and carbon it up. it will make the lead pour smoothly and keep from sticking to it. The lead that sticks to it makes it pour out unevenly.
Thanks that's I great tip... I've done this with a few of the store bought jig molds I've used but I never even thought of doing it with the ladle. I can't wait to try it... it should make a huge difference.
@@TheNeverendingProjectsList no problem it really does make a big difference I smoke all my molds with gulf wax just a tiny amount in the top of lead pot. Careful if you do this it catches fire 🔥 but smokes the heck out the mold quickly.
Very nice job ! I´ve purchased the 3 and 4 tail gruber STL files.
Thanks for the support.
i cant even get store bought molds to turn out that nice.
thanks bunches for the inspiration and especially the helpful teaching. earned yourself a sub 👌🏻
Thanks for the sub!
Great job, I love your work!!!
Thanks
Nice job👍👍👍
Thanks 👍
Awesome job on these! 👍
Thanks.

Thanks for watching.
o damn those look amazing, too bad I'm 2 years late for the give away >_
no me canso de ver tu video, muchas felicidades
Gracias
This is great
Very cool!
Great work awesome
Thanks for watching.
just found your channel, some really nice work. Sub'd, and I'm looking forward to the next project!
Thanks for subbing
Great video just found your channel and I live the content so far. Just a tip for the swimbait heads when you put that bait on it to show the what it was designed around I noticed as a fisherman that the hook gap was not very good. It looks like if you went to a slightly bigger hook it would tremendously help increase your hook up and land ratio I promise. Just something I noticed and wanted to share with you in case you didn’t know. Thanks for the tips there are some really good tips on your channel.👍
Thanks for the tip
Hey, amazing video. I do have a question though. I never tried fusion before I have used cura and others, but how did you get the size hook, diameter, dimensions of the hook into fusion?
Thanks.... Watch Part 1... the design portion is all explained in that video.
Hey, it’s two years later😮 and I still like what you do, they ain’t bad and honestly you could go with a like a gizzard shad color and just draw some scales on the head with a nice glass with a nice set of eyes change the hooks out make a better quality hook and have people buy them because I know they will buy them. Send me a link I’m in Baltimore.
I don't have to to get into selling them but feel free to make and sell your own the files for the mold are available.
@@TheNeverendingProjectsList I tried to look for a few different modes with the underbelly spin and from here in Baltimore when you try to order anything that’s two parts of chemicals, they sent me a piece of paper back before saying I needed a dismantlers license to buy it. I said, I’m not selling anything I’m trying to buy and they asked me that I have a dismantlers license because it’s chemicals and it comes to the ports of Baltimore city I’ve never heard of it before but I try to order some before to make that Apoxsee so I can dump lead into it like you did, is there any laws against the stuff to buy?
nice
😮Wow! at first they look ugly but DAMN after u painted them they look awesome those silver ones and the gold ones are the best i'm sure those fish will eat them like candies 🐠
Yeah... A little airbrushing does wonders.
I have the 1 Oz model of this..what is the exact hook I’m supposed to be using? The description says 4/0 or 5/0 but what hook exactly..
I don't know if you're on mobil and its being cut off or what but the description actually says ..."The Molds were designed around 4/0 & 5/0 Sized Eagle Claw 635 90 Degree O'Shaughnessy Jig Hooks but other brand sizes of hooks should fit the finished mold." hope that clears it up.
Hi, excellent end product. Any chance of buying the actual moulds from you sir?
Sorry... Unfortunately I just don't have the spare time to make molds for others.
can you show us how you made the eyes, awesome video
I don't have a video on making the eyes but I have the process I use detailed on my website at www.theneverendingprojectslist.com/fishingprojects/makinglureeyes/
Sweet, thank you ✊🏾
Have you tried to cut the mold in half, up to the center alignment holes? That way you can use different size hooks in the same mold...
I'm sure that would work great... I think that's how most commercial molds are done but I usually just design around the hooks I have. Even though I do offer my design for sale I'm normally only designing them for myself and not the general pubic in mind.
Amazing works of art!
Some would say the utility disqualifies it as art, but that's BS anyways 😉
Went to Art school for 3 years to find out Art is BS anyway. So I use to call my self a BS Artist. LOL
Could you use something besides lead for the heads? Maybe silicone heads? Aluminum?
I doubt silicone would weight enough and I'm not sure the melting point of aluminum would work with these type of molds but people that want to go lead free usually go with a Bismuth Tin Alloy from what I've heard.
How many casts have you gotten out of the high temp silicone? Ive done this same technique using plaster or concrete and those also lasted about 20 casts, but it costs almost nothing...
I haven’t reached the threshold because I’m only making stuff for myself but I hear it’s about 20-30 pours before the molds will start to degrade. I think a lot is going to depend on lead temps and how quick you are re pouring. I like to let the mold cool a bit after de-molding and in between pours so it doesn’t over heat. Someone also told me to dust the molds with talc powder and it will keep them from burning. I've never looked into the plaster or concrete method but if it works the same... yeah I can see it being cheaper.
I have about a dozen mold max molds that I have made. I’m low tech and pore the mold max over a blank half imbedded in clay. I’ve only ever made a single cavity mold and find it gets to hot after about 10 pores. I’ve never had one fail even after 100’s of pores as long as you never get it to hot. Works great for tin as well. Anyone offer a 3D printing service.
Yeah I only do a few at a time so I haven't had any problems yet. I'm sure there are services out there you could use to try requesting something at www.reddit.com/r/3Dprintmything/
Nice video, you forget some things... Use talc powder so your mold doesn't burn and it will loosen easyer. Next time make a small vent pipe on the highest point of your model ... for the lead fumes... Then you will see it will be the exact copy of your original.
Thanks for the tips... I will definitely try those things out for the next time.
Very good video, do you give the stl file for printer, my friend have a printer , or do you know where I could find a stl file for jig like you, thank to you
Thank you... the files can be purchased from cults3d.com/en/users/sthone/creations
Great video! Does the silicone molds tend to wear out after a few pours?
I haven't hit the limit yet as I only make stuff for personal use... that said I have heard that around 25-30 pours it can start to degrade. I don't pour back to back pours either... I try to let the mold cool in between pours. I've also been told to dust the mold with talc power to help keep them from burning.
does it require vaccum degarassor for removing bubbles ?
I did not use a degarassor for these and they came out fine. I just brush on a thin coat first so there are no surface bubbles and I also used the vibration table to try and let any bubbles raise up off the surface of the mold. I do have a vacuum chamber now though and would probably use it in place of the vibrating table.
hola, soy de mexico y me gusto mucho tu video y tu forma de hacer moldes, yo tambien estoy trabajando en un proyecto parecido a lo que haces, mis propios diseños, te felicito.
Gracias, buena suerte en tus proyectos.
muchas gracias
Every time I went to type a question you answered it! Very good video! Do you know much about cheap mold making techniques that would last for more pours? I heard you can use the same stuff dentists use to mold teeth or something but I can’t find any vids about it
Not that I know of... I've never seen the dental stuff so I'm not sure where you could get something like that.
I have converted a few of my master mold boxes into actual molds and people have be printing the molds out of high temp resin and pouring the lead directly into them and it seems to work from what I've been told. I'm not sure how long they last either but it might be cheaper than silicone molds. (of course I'm not sure what the resin cost either)
