    Thank you for the thorough and helpful video! My only suggestion is that you could show how you hang it to dry. I have a new one of these and I'm struggling to get it to stay open so air flows inside to air dry.

      Hey Megan - thank you for your comment! I would recommend you check out Ospreys reservoir user manual for hang-dry tips. Osprey also makes a cleaning kit that comes with a custom hanger that helps keep the bag open while drying upside-down. A link to the cleaning kit is provided within the video description. Enjoy!

      Thanks for your comment! The Osprey brand provides a cleaning kit that comes with a hanger, that helps keep the reservoir open while drying. I have the cleaning kit linked in my description of the video, so you can check it out. :)

    I have this water reservoir and I am not 100% satisfied with it. I love it as long as it's in my Osprey pack that it came with. I really liked it and moved it to a different Osprey pack (without the magnet) and found out that the tube kept separating from the reservoir. The pack kept hitting the quick connector and releasing it. I was so disappointed when that kept happening. Water started leaking on my pack and I had to take the pack off to re-attach it to the reservoir. On a short day hike of 6.5 miles, I had to remove my pack half a dozen times.
    The magnet helped keep it in place on the original pack, but I added a snap to the hose to keep it in place on my other packs. I also love the ease of filling it and the top closure.

      Hi Kim - thanks for your comment! That is such a bummer to hear about your experience with this reservoir, when not using an Osprey pack. While many packs come in a variety of shapes, sizes, and can accommodate a wide variety of reservoirs, you may still run into an integration problem, like you've described. May I ask what pack brand you were using with the reservoir when you started experiencing issues with the tube separating from the reservoir? I've used this reservoir with my REI packs, Kelty packs and Salomon packs without experiencing integration issues. Note that some of the packs I own are 10+ years old and were still able to accommodate a newer designed reservoir model. It would be nice to note this specific pack brand as a good alert for others, that this type of reservoir may not integrate with some packs, since it was not specifically designed for them. Thanks again for reaching out! -A

    1. Amazing video!
    2. Where did you get that pack? My Daylite Plus does not have an external compartment for the bladder

    One tip for cleaning and remove the plastic taste from any reservoir is to add one of those tablets used to clean dentures (“Steradent” in the UK)
    Is there a gunge cover for the bite valve?
    Any tips for fitting a Sawyer Mini?

    • @avocgearreviews4521
      @avocgearreviews4521  2 роки тому

      Hey! Thank you for the great tip on getting rid of the plastic taste! Yes! There is a cover available for the bite valve - check out the links below in the description of this video. I have a link to the Osprey bite valve that you can purchase on Amazon. You might be able to find a plastic adapter at the hardware store for fitting the Sawyer Mini water filter onto the tube of the Osprey reservoir. I think I've seen these small plastic adapters in the plumbing section before - give it a try! Enjoy!

      @@avocgearreviews4521 Thanks! In the end I went for the original Hydrapak 2L and modified it by adding a quick connector fitting between the hose and the mouthpiece. I also purchased a Cnoc 2L bladder. With the help of another quick connector set I now have four options:
      1. Fill the Hydrapak with clean tap water.
      2. Fill the Hydrapak with stream water and fit the Sawyer Mini inline with the drink hose.
      3. Fill the Cnoc with stream water, fit the ‘in’ side of the Sawyer Mini to the 28mm outlet and fit the Sawyer straw to the ‘out’ side. Squeeze the water into the large opening of the Hydrapak.
      4. Using another male quickfit connector on the end of the straw, follow step 3 above except remove the mouthpiece on the Hydrapak and squeeze the filtered water into the Hydrapak via its hose. This might be easier when my rucksack is fully packed and I can’t easily get to the top of my Hydrapak. I’ll see…
