- Hi! This time my friend Agent 223 has acquired a barn-find 1964 Meteor 4 door sedan! It's in nice original condition, but it hasn't been started in over 30 years! Let's have a look at this Canadian-made car (a mix of Ford and Mercury components) and try to get it to run again! No bodywork to do this time, this car is still in its original paint and is a real survivor!
I hope you enjoy a look and listen to this sweet old six-banger Ford; not many of these low-end models remain today! Thanks everyone for watching and subscribing; I have several more episodes on the way!
Cheers,
CWMC
It's been so long since I watched an episode with Stella..... somehow very much more bittersweet than I thought it could ever be. What a great dog!!!
Nice too see the old girl back on the road ..She is real beauty .Lots of beautiful Trim. A real time capsule. Those flat head six are tough .
That's really nice, started like it had been parked for 3 days, not 30 years. I love the styling, a real "so ugly it's cute" car...
love those Mercury-Ford Canadian hybrids!!
We have faith in you. If anyone can do it you guys can eh. Keep em coming.
Growing up my dad had a 64 Merc Meteor, a real basic one... beige with button hub caps and the lowest powered engine option possibly 6 cylinder. It wasn't the prettiest car but it had the largest trunk I've ever seen on any car.
Nice looking car, U.S didn't have Meteor division.
Meteor wasn't a division, it was a retrimmed Ford made for Mercury dealers so that they would have a low priced car to sell, (starting 1964, it was a cheap Mercury rather than a retrimmed Ford).
Love this. Year. Mercury. Thanks
A dog, an old car, camaraderie, the occasional brewski...my support group for my addiction
Your buddy looks like he's the lost Beatles member. Love it.
Very cool video. I like videos like this. Good job with you narration too.
Just sat through a 3 min ad and wouldn’t mind doing it again for CWM content👍
BTW what the f*** IS upstairs Amy lol
I had a 65 Mercury Montclair. With a 390 4 barrel carb. Moved pretty good. Had the window in the back that went up and down.
That car is in excellent condition considering its from a northern climate where most cars are driven through salted roads in the harsh winters of Canada.
Alberta and Sask did not salt the roads in the winter that is more of an eastern Canada thing.
Yes, don't buy a car from Southern Ontario east to the Atlantic. Manitoba west are better cars rust-wise.
TAKE OFF HOSER TO THE GREAT WHITE NORTH.... WISH I COULDA BEEN THERE 4 THIS ONE... ONE OF MY FAVORITE..... I'M ALL GM I SHOULD SHUT MY MOUTH HERE.... WHAT A GEM AYE HOSER???
63 and. 64. Love them
When I was a kid, I used to ask my Dad what the difference was between a meteor and a comet, and his answer was, "Same Thing."
The debut of Shaggy Jim!
That is VERY impressive the way it fired up even with old fuel!
Not too many inline sixes around only in older vehicles will you find these great power plants.
Oh, we had that Hoover floor polisher when I was a kid and would run it on the concrete floor in the basement, it would get out of control and bruise an ankle or two. Nice Meteor.
I once had a genuine Canadian 1953 Chevrolet 210 stick shift 2 door....great car but I was stupid in those days and did not realize one should check oil, etc....it froze the engine while I was driving it...damn...great brush ! Hey, I used baler twine a lot of the time !!
Hey. I'm from Edmonton. Good to find your videos. Doubt I can get through them all. Looks like your having fun. Cheers.
Love this car!!
Nice car and well worth fixin up.
Stel is a very COOL dog...
I have never seen a Mercury sedan with a 6 in it from 1964!
Pretty neat car! Merc body with Ford interior
I'm crazy bout this Mercury!
I have the EXACT same vacuum cleaner! Mine dates from '66. Definitely "goes with" the Meteor.
Love your vids and stell lol ur voice reminds me of ray Romano lol I thought u were from the is lol still love the vids watch them every day keep em coming brother
Austin Waters "Ever since I've been the Champ."
That’s a cool car.
that dash is a 64 ford galaxie 3:49
I have that waffle maker... the one in the backseat. I do like the Eureka.
Wholly sh*t John Lennon there in sunglasses!
Gemme that Hoover floor polisher!
Ok i see now u guys are in Canada. Finding these cars the dash is like a ford galaxies, mercurys were the luxery of fords.
I WANT ONE!
Canada seems to have some cars that are built a little bit different than in the United States I live in United States and Mexico and I have a Canadian dishwasher that has been working since 1982 Canadians know how to build stuff
We know how to take them apart, too! lol
Meteors were sold instead of Fords at Mercury dealerships....and Ford stores sold Monarchs at the high end. Lots of differences in Canada before 1965
I noticed a lot of the cars you get are base models with six bangers.
Thats what the majority of classic cars in alberta are people didnt need fast cars they were just transportation and people didnt have a lot of money
+MrBreeze be nice to see a v8 in his yard
Mmm... VolksWagens! I like just about any older car, but VWs are the only one I've yet owned!
I bet it helps that the gas in it wasn't like the shite we run today! Too much ethanol... DX
I've never seen one with a six in it?
My stepdad and I recently acquired a ‘64 meteor also...can’t seem to find parts anywhere (mostly aesthetic, window handles, headlights, etc) any tips? From Ontario, Canada :)
look for 64 Galaxie or Mercury parts, they will fit....
If it's a Meteor, it's from Canada, eh?
Does Jim still have that Spitfire?
BARN FIND
please help me out, I need to find a good mechanical parts source I just got hips deep into a 64 meteor just like this but with a 390............
GRILLE CHEESE MAKER ON THE REAR SEAT
I've never seen a six banger in a full sized Merc. Must be a bit gutless, eh?
So what happened to this car? My brother's first car was a '64 Meteor, looked just like this one, same color and all....
Hi! My friend Jim Sold this car to a fella who was going to put it back on the road... Cheers!
it burped your half way there
its like ron weasleys canafrench anglia parent car
Must be a Canadian Merc eh?
In my opinion there wasn't an ugly car made in the 60 ' s if I had the money I buy one of every make and model.
Love your videos - hate your f bombs. Couldn't you clean that up and make it enjoyable for everyone. I don't think anyone would miss them if they were gone.
Well, this is the cleaned up version... you should hear the stuff I don't use... I understand that some people are going to be offended by the drinking, smoking, and profanity, but I have accepted that. I didn't think anyone was even going to watch this stuff at all, and it is never going to be "mainstream" anyway.
Please don't think I am angry; I am happy to defend myself politely, and I appreciate your point of view. I am sure the profanity costs me viewers. Nevertheless: I am absolutely relentless on free speech. If I stop saying "f@#&", someone will complain that we say "s#!*" too much, and then it'll be "You shouldn't have those beer cans in there... I don't drink, and it hurts my feelings!" and so on until this channel is just another marxist safe-space for deluded liberals to feel like they have made the world a better place by destroying everything that doesn't conform to their ideology. I understand that it offends some people, but it is vitally important to what is left of our free speech rights (and they are under attack, as we know) that we never cave to pressure to self-censor anything we say or write. Therefore, while I know that the foul language is not vital to the narrative, I have to leave it in as a reminder that we have to be prepared to defend the rights of those who would say things that offend us, or those rights will not be there when we need them. I hope I was able to explain my position; thanks for the note.
My goodness, I didn't know I was entering into a debate about freedom of speech with my comment. I'm as conservative as they come, not a liberal bone in my body. Its your video so if you want to use that language, cuss on. I do find it humorous that you chose not to write out the foul words in your reply, though, it just kind of proves my point. But hey, if the f bomb is one of your building blocks for freedom of speech, cuss on. I can move on to others who share my interest and love for cars yet have an understanding of common politeness in public discourse. Say goodbye to Stella for me.
coldwarmotors I didn't notice too much foul language in your videos in fact I enjoyed Stella being in the videos I was born in 1960 the era that these cars were built and you do not see these cars much anymore.
it's not very reust
Great videos...but constant pandering to the dog, gets irritating.
That’s the point lol
