Randy Bachman is a Canadian treasure and one of his great qualities is that he and BTO never took themselves too seriously. They were providing the world with simple 3 or 4 chord rock and roll and they had some great hooks along with some humorous lyrics. They described their career best in 'Takin' Care of Business' in which they say, "Get a second-hand guitar, chances are you'll go far if you get in with the right bunch of fellas" Saw them live back in the 70s. Fun show but really, just went out there and played rock and roll. Loved it.

I'm a 61 year old who grew up in the 60's & 70's and enjoyed some of the best music ever. Since covid made me stay home, I stumbled upon music reactions and became hooked on them. Of all of them I've watched you guys have become my favorites. I love the classic rock and hard rock of that era but I think you guys may be oblivious to the best voice of all time in my opinion. On the men's side there are good singers, great singers and there's Freddy Mercury. On the womens side there are good singers, great singers and there's Karen Carpenter. She won't blow you away with power or soaring high notes but there's something about her voice that goes threw your ears and into your soul. She is the only voice that can give me goose bumps, make the hair on my arms stand up and bring tears to my eyes knowing her back story. If your not familiar with her I would urge you to check her out but be careful or you may be sucked down that rabbit hole. I would describe their music as elegant pop.

My one year old son, Tim, was sitting on my lap(no seatbelt or child car seat laws), and this song came on the radio. My baby son was talking a little bit but that day, he surprised the hell out of us by blaring out, "I MET A DEVIL WOMAN! SHE TOOK MY HEART AWAY!" He proceeded to sing the whole song all the way through! And that, more than anything, is why I love this song. It brings back a very special memory for me.😁

Ok, this is wild. I heard this on the radio LAST NIGHT, and thought, "man, Andy & Alex need to do this." Great choice, gents! This is a hell of a track, imo. Great radio banger,, to crank up while driving, or while getting ready to go somewhere. Really fun song to sing along with. . Totally agree with Andy'assessment - feels like an A, but when you're done you think, "that might even be A+." They drop you in the sauce before you even realize it. Took my younger brother to his first concert here in Vancouver when he was 13 or so - I would'a been about 19. It was BTO. He had been playing guitar for a couple years and was jamming these songs including BTO songs with a neigbour kid in the same apartment complex we lived in. Later on in life that kid became an actor who ended up playing guitar and introducing some kids to some Chuck Berry licks in that Back to the Future movie. Good memories I had about my brother who sadly died in a car crash several years ago. A tad melancholy whenever I listen to BTO now. Love your vids - keep it up.

Randy explains in a great Vinyl Tap show he hosts that the origin of this song is that stuttering within the song was a loving joke to his brother who stutters. The track was only intended to be sent to his brother and never released. It was a throw away track used only in production to calibrate the mic’s and levels before they starting recording the planned album. It was Randy singing.

Undone, from Bachman's and Turner's former band Guess Who. It is soooo under appreciated until you hear it and remember how great it is. That song is in my current rotation and I know it hasn't been on Philly airplay in 30-40 years. Another " BANGER!" is Shakin All Over. That song alone has been covered by the Guess Who as well as the Who, the Queen of Bockabilly Wanda Jackson and Bowie among others. At 55 years old I dig stuff from 50's and on up as well as Classical, Jazz, Blues, Bluegrass, Rockabilly and so much more. And working around the younger crowd that actually like the old stuff gives me hope for music in general.
