I tried to film a video in Asakusa only speaking English!
It was a very hot day and I was wearing a yukata, so my brain was not functioning very well. My English was even worse than it usually is💧
I can speak better than this on a normal day, I promise! lol
    Hope you enjoy the video🤝🏻✨

Are you a Japanese? I really enjoyed watching this video of Ms. Yuka Chan, in which tourist spots and food are shown to educate people like myself about a little bit of Japanese culture. Her English may not be as good as a native speaker, but watching her trying her best to communicate with English speakers like myself makes me feel happy about it. She deserves 👏 from all of English speakers who watch her videos. 👏 👏 👏 to Ms.Yuka.

Also, it looks like the temperature in Asakusa at the moment is around 98 degrees Fahrenheit/36 degrees Celsius (but feels more like 100 F/38 C) 😓 I had no idea Tokyo could get so hot.

It is much worse than that, and even when it says a temperature of 40 or so, the problem is the humidity. @@yutin_jp I really wish more Japanese people would move abroad. It is so rare to see a Japanese community abroad. Its very sad. On the other hand, everywhere I travel in the world, I see Korean, Chinese, American, European communities in places like Africa, South America, Australia, Russia, and even parts of the middle east like Mumbai and Dubai. The only places I have seen large Japanese settlements is in Hawaii, and California. Us Japanese people(My mom is Japanese and my Father is American and I was raised in Tokyo until I was 7) need to venture out more and settle in other areas too! I think it is great you are learning English. It really comes in handy to speak fluid English in Japan, and will benefit you in many ways! Keep up the great work!

@@yutin_jp. if you love Japan it’s much better for you to stay there and not move to another country. Other countries can be very uncivilized and hostile and dangerous Like America. Stay in Japan where it is safer and far more civilized.

"no-sun place" - this kind of attempt and attitude is so important for learners when they get stuck not knowing a word (in this case, "shade")! I always remind them you can probably use simpler words to describe what you want, and hand motions help too. Good job making yourself try this and sharing it to inspire others!

Thank you Yuka chan. You have a strong base to quickly learn English fluently. I think you just need people to speak with on a daily basis, for a couple of hours at least. Online gaming had me go from bad English speaking to fluent really fast, it was long ago but i am so thankful for that, i rarely meet anyone speaking and understanding English as well as i do in my native country.
Gambatte and look forward to next English speaking video!

Awesome! Having an accent is perfectly ok as long as it's comprehensible. Fluency will come with practice. One thing that really helped me is watching English/American shows with subtitles. Best way to learn it is to immerse yourself in the culture :D

I’m from America, and I am very interested in Japanese culture and Japan itself because it’s absolutely beautiful. I was recently in Japan and actually visited Senso-Ji just a few days before this video was made. Thought that was kinda cool. Also your English is actually not that bad! It’s understandable to the native english speaker. I’m also learning Japanese and I’m about on the same level 😅

Whaaa 😱, just stumbled over your UA-cam Channel and had to suscribe instantly, as I only knew you from the rickshaw videos, and your personality seemed so sparkly and wholesome, so happy to have found you 🤭
And no worries about your englisch skills.
I'm german, and although we were taught german since 3th class in school, I still sucked at it when I left in 10th grade 😅
I only got better afterwards, when I started watching many UA-cam videos and movies in english and having some foreign online friends.
With the UA-cam videos and movies I also had to use german subtitles for a long time, and they gave me literal headaches for a while haha..guess my brain had to make some new connections or something.
But then I naturally got better and better without really noticing at first because it happened so organically. Sure I still have to google some words sometimes or how to spell something correctly, but I'm able to speak fluent english with my foreign friends now and I love it.
So, if you want to improve I'd say it's a good idea to gently integrade some english in parts of your life you enjoy and do for fun.
I'm hoping to be able to do the same with Japanese one day, as I love the language and culture and would love to visit one day 🤗

Yuka Chan Konnichiwa! Thank you for the video! I worked with a Japanese company here in the States and they offered a Japanese language school. The school was only supposed to go for one month, but we liked learning so much the school lasted for 8-1/2 months! Japanese language is not easy for me because the order of the words was different. Also, I learned that Japanese have 35 different ways to count, and there are three types of lettering systems like hiragana, katakana, and kanji. So, it was fun to learn Nihongo, but very difficult for me to remember how to speak properly. I think you have done very well with your English language! I see that even when you don’t know the word, you still try, and give the Japanese word like uchiwa. We say “fan” for uchiwa. But, the word “fan” also has a double meaning… it is short form for “fanatic”, but we also call enthusiastic people “fan” as well. This is what makes English so difficult, especially for someone who is trying to learn. Arigatou!
