Sound off if you're with me guys... This is the most severely under-rated gun channel as far as reviews. Great job Mr. Feldmutze - thank you and keep up the good work.
I personally like piggyback dots on top mainly because I run night vision and when I see night vision the higher the better when it comes to passive aiming. Now even without night vision I enjoy a more heads up style when shooting. Instead of trying to turtle neck into the stock.
Glad to see HK back! Looking good with your ambi bolt release, extended castle nut, ral adaptive battle grip, buffer tube, ejection cover, and charging handle. 45 degree safety, too? Nice! We’re getting a video on your upgrades, right? 😉
Thanks for the suggestion! I actually wasn't planning on doing a video on this at first since I had already done similar videos on my MR556 when it was refinished, but thinking more on it, there was quite a bit of work done on the MR762 for the ambi parts & extended castle nut to fit that would be enough to warrant a video on, so I'll have one up probably in the next few weeks.
Great video man! Love all the HK content. I noticed you have the MK15 on your brief feature of the MR556, I have that as well and recently just got the OG G$ SMR rail.. can’t seem to fit the Magpul angled foregrip anymore as the nub between the screws get in the way… any ideas what I can do or do you have any recommendations what I can throw on there? Can’t decide between the two rails!
Thanks, and glad you're liking these videos! Arisaka makes a handstop that is made specifically for the original SMR that you might want to look into, but I don't know of any angled foregrips that would fit aside from adding a pic rail section then the grip onto that.
@@Feldmutze thanks for the response! How would that work if I buy the pic rail? Just remove the tab at the end of the screw and screw them in the holes? Or do I need special screws?
On the pic rail, I was thinking moreso of using a different grip that attaches directly to it as opposed to the M-Lok one it sounds like you're currently using. There isn't a way to attach M-Lok to the old SMR, it uses its own mounting system.
Nice looking rig you've got there and another excellent video. For my neck length the offset works best for me as well as the fact that I manage to keep the same cheek-weld when rolling the rifle back to the primary optic (I may just be weird that way lol) but your explanation covers both the pros and cons of each set-up and will probably help quite a few undecided shooters. I'm about to send out my MR762A1 for some refinishing work as well. Are you pleased with the service and quality of work on you rifle? Would you recommend them and also, what was the turn-around time? Regards
Thanks, and glad you liked the video! Overall I'm happy with how my MR762 turned out but it did take a while at ~9 months exact. I had Black Ops Defense do the work on this rifle. The reanodization on the upper and lower receiver is excellent, however they were unable to reanodize the buffer tube this time so that ended up getting Cerakoted which I'm concerned about the durability on especially since that sees quite a bit of wear with the stock sliding on it. I also had them mill the lower for the ambi parts and the buffer tube to fit the extended castle nut, all of which turned out great. All in all, the work itself is great but took way longer than it should have. It seems like the majority of delays come from the reanodization process, so if you're fine with Cerakote it would probably end up going way faster.
@@Feldmutze Thanks for the response. 9 months? Ouch! That must’ve been tough without your baby. Yeah there’s no way I’m saying goodbye to my rifle for at least 9 months. I’ll seek out a reputable ceracoater and ship it off for the upper and lower receivers to be done though I’ll still give Black Ops a call to see if they can at least give a ballpark estime for their services Why weren’t they able re-anodize the buffer tube, Would that have added another couple months or something?
If I remember correctly they tried to reanodize the buffer tube but the anodization came out inconsistent and blotchy so they Cerakoted over it. There are some parts they can re-re-anodize and I ran into that when I had them do my MR556 build, but I assume since the buffer tube is already a thinner aluminum it could cause issues to try to repeatedly reanodize that part.
Yes, these are prescription Tactical RX Mt. Falcons. They feel great with Comtacs on, I don't get any pressure points. I did a review on them a few years back too ua-cam.com/video/gVeq48WJ-eA/v-deo.htmlsi=1eQbfBrb054BdicD
Depends on your 45 canted setup and actual dot itself...if you run a setup thats a little furter out to the side or more higher and almost obstructed by tirrets or further forward or back it all has a different posture to use...my 45 degree setup is w a vortex defender and it sits perfect height i can like barely lean the rifle and i start having usable dot...less movemt thn a chin weld w a 12oclock
@@Feldmutze YT deleted my response...I guess ill have to keep it short...its a Warne pic 45 offset mount w vortex defender ST of course running the pic rail base on it

I was researching this very topic a few days ago.
I appreciate the shared info. Straight forward explanation of your experience.

Thumbs up!
Is that a march shorty?
I'm using a March D8V24FIML. It's slightly longer than their Shorty but doesn't need a proprietary mount.
now all you need is a bipod and voila a very sexy DMR
