I just got home from watching the movie. It was so intense and left me with so many questions. What a powerful and horrific story. Leonardo needs to win an Oscar for this one for sure. And I surely hope Lily Gladstone wins best actress. Honestly everyone did a superb job in this. It’s been awhile since a film affected me so deeply emotionally.
Have yet to see the entire film yet- but the scene where Lily Gladstone's character responds to Leonardo DiCaprio comment about her skin color just makes my heart melt. With so few words, just the sound of her voice and subtle facial expressions makes me swoon with delight..The sign of a true star...
Me too I love that scene and the phrase Coyote wants money that’s what make me continue to watch the movie just that Phrase and the way she says it , I already watch the move a lot lot of times and I’m no tired of it , I wonder if she know the impact she had in a lot of her fans.
I read Killers of the Flower Moon last year, as well as The Deaths of Sybil Bolton by Dennis McAuliffe, Jr. The young mother who is shot while attending her baby in the yard was "Sybil," portraying Dennis' own mother. The baby portrays him in the scene. He was on a lifelong journey to investigate what had happened to his mother and her people and his book is the result. Fascinating. Since I missed seeing the film at the theater, I finally purchased the DVD and watched it last night. The telling of this period in American history is a gift to all of us. Wonderful film with superb acting. Loved it!
This was probably the most epic (in scale and depth) and tragic movie I have ever seen. So much depth and layers to Molly and Ernest and King is up there for most evil characters on screen. Like Noah Cross.
Native 12 tribes people in Ont. Canadian, history classes taught us about the children that were being taken by force to be “ educated “ in far away school , by helicopters and planes , to the west coast of Canada , some children attempted to get away, the children bodies were found , the survivors talked about the torture I think it was stopped in the 1980’s
DISCLAIMER: I know the FBI are not the saviors of Indigenous Americans. The small number of FBI agents like Tom White (and the surprising fact that J. Edgar Hoover actually wanted the Osage's case handled) does not make up for the reputation the Federal Bureau of Investigation has earned. I was reading the book when news about the film came out. The story of the Osage and Tom White (one of few FBI agents who have fought for Indigenous Americans) is not well known but NEEDS to be.
As someone who is a big fan of the book, I liked the movie but I didn't love it like I loved the book. I don't agree with the shift in focus. I liked the whodunit aspect of the book, and I don't think the role of Tom White should have been diminished like it was in the film. Also, in relation to that shift in focus, Leonard DiCaprio is 20 years too old to portray Ernest, but he would have been perfect as Tom White if White's role hadn't been diminished.
He originally was supposed to play Tom White. The role was written for him. He wanted to play Earnest instead so he was cast as him and Jesse ended up being Tom White.
@@bribrirock24 Leo would have been great as Tom White, the way Tom White was written in the book. However, I think the idea to have Leo play Ernest was just as much Scorcese's as it was DiCaprio's.
When I saw Jesse Plemons show up in the movie all 6’4 275lbs of me started giggling. The man has an amazing way of silently expressing his emotions! Incredible movie.
A book called the life and times of Mexico Talks about the 12 tribes Also talks about The Mud War it was men women and children covered in mud fighting a war with their hands And they won
Why do people care so much about leo dicaprios love life? And why do people act like he’s the only person in Hollywood who dates people younger than him? There’s multiple examples of couples who are 30, 40 years apart in age, which I’m not defending and would never do myself, but it’s nothing new in this industry.
Lily Gladstone can not act to save her life. In every scene you could clearly notice that she has zero acting ability and she delivered her dialogue with zero enthusiasm. But she will be handed every award this season because of affirmative action/diversity/political correctness. So that liberal Hollywood can get a pat on the back from the native/indigenous/aboriginal people of America. Great, congratulations Ms Gladstone for an academy award that deep down inside you know you do not deserve. Another affirmative action awards season. Giving trophies to people who do not deserve any recognition and can not act worth beans, like Lily Gladstone. Did we not learn anything from the Claudine Gay/Harvard scandal? Stop giving things to people who did not earn it! Stop this affirmative action/diversity/political correctness!
Lily Gladstone's character was supposed to be reserved and observant. She did a fantastic job. I hate political correctness too, but this movie had nothing like that in it
It’s just how Scorsese is he did it with De Niro now he doing it with Leo. Hell do lil shit without em like Bringing out the Dead or Silence but yea he works his “team” I guess idk maybe they just got a good ass relationship and honestly they make bangers so idk what’s there to be tired of
Scorsese's made 28 films. Out of those 28 films, only 5 have DiCaprio. So you've apparently not seen TWENTY-THREE of his movies which have nothing to do with "Mr. Leo". Besides, *many* directors often work with the same actors for a few films, it's not uncommon at all.
So you haven't "gotten" a Native-American woman for YEARS...but suddenly it's a movie's fault that didn't exist for all the time you've never been able to "get" one? Pretty sure the problem is you, dude, not a movie. lol
I dont think Ive seen Leo having this level of deep interest and humility towards a co-star, as with Lily. Great on and off screen chemistry.
If she wasn’t over 25 their chemistry would be even better LMAO
Brad Pitt?
I disagree...he has a very close relationship w/Kate Winslet...
Leave his personal life alone, he's an amazing actor.
@@kingkongchief1177 I don't think this person meant that kind of chemistry..
.. @@sararahman7731seriously, if it's consensual, what's it got to do with you..? 🤨🤔😅
Lily Gladstone is so beautiful her face is just stunning to me. Her eyes are so expressive in her acting. The movie was fantastic
Very pretty
Agree a thousand times over. Gorgeous woman for sure. Her soul shone through her eyes.
I think she is like a real life Mona Lisa!
Lily's approach to her character is so interesting - being an access point for the audience to feel EMPATHY for the Osage group is incredible
Agreed
So true for this viewer.
I hope she receives an Academy aAward for her outstanding performance
I'm a history student and I'm still learning at 72 years old. However, remember this is a movie.
Cinema is life, one would say 🫡🙏🏻
Lily Gladstone's performance was mesmerising. No one else came close.

Very profound... beautiful ❤❤❤
I really feel that Leo has learned a lot from her. Just the way he is speaking with such brevity is new for sure. She’s an amazing actor and human.
Lily’s first answer was poetic. They are another level of talented, smart, reverent, and a true beacon of humanity
You can see the genuine love and utmost respect between Leo and Lily whenever they’re together

DiCaprio's portrayal of Ernest has earned him an Oscar nomination. Incredible job!
Can´t agree more. Well done: DiCaprio and Lily.
It was his best performance imo.
Except he was not nominated 😢
She is so real in her emotions, and the connection to Leo's character is clear.
Lily Gladstone reminds me of the Mona Lisa
Finally somebody said it my god
I think she’s far more beautiful than Mona Lisa.
Yes, she is also very serene like the Mona Lisa in the painting.
Saw this yesterday. A movie, a novel, a play is a way for is to see the world for another’s perspective. I’m connected to these people now.
I could listen to Lily talk all day long. She is just Wonderful.
This film was AMAZING! Every actor was great. I’m glad more indigenous films are made and representation of our people is on SCREEN! 🎞️
Lily is a goddess when she speaks we all stop and listen including Leo. She is so special
You can see DiCaprio's respect for Lily. An actor's actor.
She has such an elegant aura 😍

i just love this lady! Beautiful outside and inside!
I cried at the end of the movie
So happy she won 🏆
Jesse Plemons looks exactly like he did in Breaking Bad! Amazing how weight loss can rejuvenate one’s looks
LILY IS AMAZING❤
Jesse Plenoms is in everything now damn. He must go from one to the next. He’s in my favorite ep of Blk Mirror
I'm incredibly proud of him
This is a prolific movie. Leo embodies the scumbag role soo well all the acting was next level.
A sickening yet great story! Bravo to all involved and we need more of this NOT MARVEL BS!
If they made a followup movie out of _Pipe for February_ that's like this but from the Osage POV, I'd watch that today
Leonardo DiCaprio is a genious❤❤❤
Lily deserves an Oscar
Leonardo Dicaprio is awesome. 💖💖💖🥰🥰
The fact that this becomes our educational tool is a gratefulness to me.

Jesse Plemmons really has the face of an old Texas Ranger
It was a hard watch. The Osage Museum can explain the why in the movie...the union suits etc...
Cutthroat Gap, 1833. Make a movie about that Dicaprio.
Lily looks and sounds like an indigenous Maori woman of New Zealand

Amen
I hope Leonardo DiCaprio keeps on making films that are focused on the history of the Indigenous Peoples of Turtle Island (North America) ❤
