Last Layer (Part 4/4) Edge Permutation - How to Solve a Rubik's Cube
Вставка
- Опубліковано 15 сер 2024
- That excitement at the end tho
If you run into a situation with 2 solved edges and 2 non-solved edges, please see the pinned comment about this situation.
Opposite on right - M2 U M U2 M' U M2
Opposite on left - M2 U' M U2 M' U' M2
All opposites - M2 U' M2 U2' M2 U' M2
Diag swap - M' U' M2 U' M2 U' M' U2 M2 U
Note that M and M' are done with respect to the left face. I.e., M' is the same direction as L' (you pull the bottom of the M-slice towards you), and M is the same direction as L.
Also, M2 is really M2', but since they are equivalent most people prefer to just write it as M2.

I Seem to have an unsolvable problem. Can’t seem to find any solutions anyway.I’ve got all layers solved, I’m solving top layer. All corners are correct and in the right spot. Two sides are also correct. Blue and red sides solved, blue and red sides are at right angle to each other with all yellow on top. My green and orange sides are at a right angle from each other and they just need to switch. No idea what to do. Two sides and all corners solves, just two opposite colours need to switch places.
Lauren Watson If this is a 3x3 then you're out of luck trying to solve it with any algorithm, unfortunately. A single diagonal swap like this is known as parity and for a 3x3 means that at some point perhaps stickers or individual pieces were swapped, making it impossible to solve. In that case, your best option would be to remove the two center pieces by turning the top layer 45 degrees and sticking your thumb under the pieces to pop them out. Afterwards, pop them back in the correct places with the top face still turned 45 degrees. Once done, you should NEVER have this problem again, unless somebody peels the stickers off or physically swaps the pieces.
If this is a 4x4, there are algorithms to swap those two pairs of pieces because parity is allowed to occur in 4x4s. If you need any more assistance, just let me know!
Thank you!
I've never removed stickers or removed pieces. This Rubik's cube has been doing this ever since I first discovered the algorithms in the solving guide. Does this mean it was out together wrong?
I've since changed the pieces around and have solved the cube many times now thank you.
Yea, it seems to indicate that is wasn't correct to start :/. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask! I'm glad you're finding success with your cube :)
maybe you have a left cube
Lauren Watson you could take out the two pieces and put them in the right spot
1:40 bar at the back and opposite on the right
2:26 bar at the back opposite on the left
2:58 all sides opposites
3:56 diagonal switches

Thank you sooo much
Thank you!! This helps!!

"If you've made it this far, congratulations, woo hoo" 🤣
Exactly 😂😂😂😂
I know how to do it but I forgot
I made it
@@toxic1242 congratulations, woohoo
Its so easy
I was looking for so long for another way of doing the edges and all the other algotithms were so complicated or weird, but those fit perfectly. I´m amazed. Thank you so much!
And that's how I solve my cube FOR THE FIRST TIME, mixing two tutorials and I billion tries. Thank you... 🥳🥳
I had solved the cube by layer by layer and the last - the third layer was left & by watching this video I solved & it was my first time , my rubix cube was totally solved
Thank you very much for sharing this video on UA-cam 😄
Love this! So helpful and at a pace that allows you to follow realistically. Thank you.
Exactly what I was looking for--I knew there had to be a way, thanks.

Thank you so much @Peter Ho for making th ese tutorials. Ive always wanted to solve a cube and i have finally done it. Thanks so much!!!
Clockwise edges - (R2 U R U R' U' R' U' R' U R')
Anti clockwise - (R U' R U R U R U' R' U' R2)
Opposite Edges - (M2 U M2 U2 M2 U M2)
F edge and R edge switch - (M2 U M2 U M' U2 M2 U2 M' U2)
M means the middle in between L and R. Is goes in the same direction that L would
This was the first one I learned then I forgot and then I could never find the vid that thought me it but then I saw this comment and thank youuuu 🙏🙏🙏
This is the explanation that should have been given in the video.
You are the only person how help properly. Thanks man.
I can't tell you how many times I have run into these problems and I looked up ur vid and it worked! U earned a smashed like bro.
My case is that 2 opposites are solved but the other 2 opposites arent
Bar, 3 Edges opposite on right 1:35
Bar, 3 edges opposite on left 2:26
All bottom edges opposites 2:55
Bottom edges 2 diag switches 3:52
Thanks
😊
this is exactly what i looking for ....thanks men
Thx my g you taught me the numbers which made it 10 times easier.
Ain't no g 🤣
Thank you so much, I was following the guide on my GAN cube instructions, but I got my cube looking like the first example you solved and I kept accidently messing it up. This helped me so much, thank you.
YOU THE BEST BRO LIKE I WAS STUCK ON THIS FOR SO LONG!!!THANKS!!!
Thank goodness this was on UA-cam thanks
I watched this video 2 or 3 years ago..... UA-cam decided to recommend this video to me after 2 years....Back then I didn't even know there is something called PLL or oll... I saw on video, where a guy does the M moves.... I noticed that and I put that video in slow motion and found that one alg..... Then I searched up some senseless stuff and somehow saw this video😅..... That's where I started learning pll and oll..... And now I'm sub 20 .... 2 years back.... I was sub 50 and now I'm sub 20.....#roadtosub10.....
I really thank u.... Because u Brought me into the cubing world.... Before I was just solving the cube for fun and aimless.... Now I have an aim.... Be sub10..... Thnk u ❤
my gosh good thing i found this . the way i solve keeps leading me to this situation
Thanks for showing that because I could not figure out how to do it
i have been in Case 2 many times, I tried to redo again and still Case 2 but I managed to do by your help. Thanks
I solved a rubiks cube first time. Not possible without you..
Thank you so much I love people like u
now i have two methods thanks 🙏🏻 man
exactly what i was looking for i can knock 10 seconds of my time now
Thanks a lot
thx dude I went from 60 sec avrg to 35 sec avrg thx

This exactly what I was look for how to use these m moves to complete the last edges
I know that I may be late to comment this but thank you so much that I learn new tricks in third layer " I feel so proud of my self"
Thank you so much.... Just what i needed
i solved the rubik's cube the first time with the algorithm presented by the "wired"-video, so far so good, but i was looking for a faster solution for the last step. this is exactly what i was hoping for. great. how do you come to these algorithms?
DUDE we on the same world now Sameer weird video was the first time solving the cuberee
i learnd a differant way but i could not remmember the moves so i started to look and found this one and it helped me A LOT
Exactly what I was looking for
Great man very helpful
Finally found what I want,,,,to soo much
That is impressive. You swapped all 4 edges in about 7 moves. I do it a little differently. I can swap 3 edges in 8 moves and I think my way is easier to follow. You can visualize it so you do not have to memorize the moves. Unfortunately to do all 4 edges I have to repeat it so takes a total of 16 moves.
What's the alg?
omg it worked all the other tutorials ive found havent worked but yours helped me to solve my first cube thx soo much
For some reason whatever I do it doesn’t go back my case is 2 edge pieces are swapped but the left and right are solved and whatever I do if doesn’t solve any help
Same nobody can explain it
Read the pinned comment Replies
You cube has 2 edge pieces swapped this isn't a solvable case ... Take the 2 edge pieces out and put them In the right place
@@riditsrivastava497 yeah I solved it back a couple months ago because I took out the centre pieces and solved it! I was so dumb, I had no idea why I took them out in the first place, but it’s fixed.
I just learnt the first shuffle do it around 3-4 times and it will fall into place if the cube is in any of these starting positions 🙂
ive been looking for this patter my whole life 😭
I got a little stuck because I was reading off the description and you put M instead of M' for some algorithms, but thanks anyway better than my other algorithms
Hey, I'm glad I could help! Btw, M-slice moves are done as if facing it from the left side. So M means you push the back of the M slice up, and M' pulls the bottom of the M slice towards you! I'll put a note in the description.
@@PeterHo8888 ooh I thought it was the opposite thanks for your help

tahnks ma men finally i can solv my cube after 4 years of having it
lol jk actually thank you for real becasue you helped me, and other people for solving the cube quicker, and not doing much more moves than ever
thanks dud i appreciate it
Thanks for this! I can now sleep well. 😴
Thanks I was not able to solve by other vid but u r vid was the one which helped me in headlight
Just needed a refresher. Haven’t solved one in months

Thanks for helping me solve my first cube 🙏🙏
Thanks i solved my cube 1st time Thanks man!!!!!

Thank you so much with the opposite pieces in the wrong side helped me solve my Rubin cube that I have been trying to solve for days and this video was really under standble
Thank you so much....
I was searching for this only, I am here after 5 years though 😅😁😆
Thank you so much!!!! I have tried to solve for 13 hours
Your #2 fix worked for Opposite on left. Thank you!
Thank You So Much!! I was very panicked that what to do at this moment but because of this video, I learned how to solve this problem!! Thank You Very Much!!
I solved my first cube because of you thanks a lot
finally did it! thanks, solved my last step. I had to pause the video at each step since you moved too fast for my beginner's eyes. My top layer had all opposites so i used 3:20 to complete it. thanks
I always got stuck in the sixth side and was never able to solve it and gave up years ago it's not easy when you don't know what side to move next without moving all the other sides I guess that's what makes it hard to solve a rubix cube
Thanks this really helped solved my rubics cube!
Rubiks or Rubix
*In my case there are two bars in last layer and two in the bottom as I did it with roux so can you help me with that ?
In top layer bars are next to each other and in bottom bars are opp. Of each other , how can I switch these edges ?*
If you're using Roux, then this tutorial is probably not the best to follow. This specific video follows a 2-look PLL method for CFOP.
For your case, you still need to solve the LR edges on top (step 4b of LSE), and then you can solve the remaining four edges with step 4c of LSE. There are a lot of tutorials out there. Here's one from Kian, who's very well respected in the Roux community (although hasn't been active recently): ua-cam.com/video/YL55b8FljnE/v-deo.html
You can also find Waffle's tutorial here: www.speedsolving.com/threads/waffles-roux-tutorial.11506/. There are UA-cam videos linked here for each of the steps.
If you have any more questions, just let me know!

love your video🤗🤗🤗
Thank you kindly! I needed the third algorithm, I was getting that scenario a lot and it was hurting my time having to do one algorithm 2 times instead of just doing one algorithm. Thanks!

Thank you once again
What if I need to move all the yellow cross to the left but all sides are already ok?
I have two sides across from each other. I have a green in the blue and a blue in the green top center. so opposites on two sides
My cube has blue and green side completed and two other sides have missing edge pieces . Kindly tell about that.
Awesome and clear instructions
thanks a lot dude
Just what I needed for everything.
Thank you for this
Nicely understand
Thanks bro u the best
WHAT DO YOU MEANNN
all opposites doesn't work for me
i do it everytime and it always screws the cube up
My cube's only two blocks left
I had the same scenario just different colors. Btw, thx this helped me a lot
Thx so much
Hi Peter, thanks for the information. I am stuck on two solved sides and other two are either diagonal or opposite switch. Any suggestions?
Sorry, just saw the pinned comment suggesting the solution. All good.
OMG, THANKS A LOT FRIEND ... IVE BEEN SEARCHING FOR THIS ALL THE DAY.... EVERY OTHER PERSON SAYS TO START WITH SOMETHING LIKE "RURUFUR" SOME SHIT!
Tnx dude rly helped
Can you show how to solve if the entire cube is complete besides two opposite edges that both need flipped?
If those two edges' top colors aren't the same color as the rest of the top, then you need to first orient them so the entire top is one color (in this video, yellow). The way my last layer guide is done, you'd need to go back to "Part 1/4 Edge Orientation".
If instead the entire top is one color and you just have two pieces that need to be swapped, see the pinned comment
One side is already solved and the others aren't and I tried the left and right technique and it just changes the color of which one is solved
Pls help. I only have 2 opposites unsolved. How to solve? Its not included on your cases
