Elsa's Procession is my favorite classical piece of all time and Phantom Regiment just plays it so beautifully and amazingly! Astonishing every time!
REAL CONDUCTING!!?!? Too good to be true, God dang.
dean patterson...you are freakin' amazing!!!
Chills every time.
Absolutely fantastic. My God.
Tuba entrance = beginning of my two-minute heart attack listening to this epicness.
Go Phantom!
At 1:45 you can almost feel the power coming from that baton. Truly epic.
Perfect.
Santa Clara Vanguard deserves a real conductor like this!
Actually, kinda surprised they've always been so conservatively "marchy" in their drum majors' style, considering the whole musical approach they've had over the decades...
I conducted the same exact way he did in my college dm audition and it got the head DM spot ;)
Omg the pit is on fire
@isabelle David conducts ostinato and journey through the snow. Dean conducts Elsa's this year.
When I watch phantom regiment show, I would like:"I'm here to watch Dean Patterson only." Haha. Jk. Phantom is great!
It seems rare that a frontline will have a part in a corps song, I wish that was more common.
He was also very far back in the field. He had to play very loudly after playing lead trumpet for the entire show.
thats because the 2011 solo was played at the end of a 15 show...... im sure the guy who played the solo in this video had some rested chops to play with!
More Dean Patterson Videos!!!!
Who is that drum major? Hire him for all epic pieces that need a calm but powerful conductor.
BeeRockPville he’s Dean Patterson. Last I checked, he’s a band teacher at Riverwatch Middle School
i know this means nothing, but that solo sounded wayy better than the 2011 solo
BeeRockPville Dean Patterson
