Things I hate about the Peloton Bike Plus: • 8 Things I HATE about ...
Tier 1 peloton alternative bikes usually lack Metrics such as Resistance Number, Power Output, and usually cadence as well. You can add a cadence sensor to the crank arm to make up fro cadence, but usually you can't get Power (watts) or Resistance Number on these bikes.
Tier 2 peloton hack bikes you can expect to get Resistance Number, along with Cadence, and Power Output in Watts, Usually these bikes include usable metrics data, but lack a nice display or some way to run the Peloton App on the bike without adding your own 1 or 2 screens to the setup.
Tier 3 peloton alternative bike: Stryde is currently my only Tier 3 option. This bike gives you all your important metrics: Cadence, Power, Resistance number 0-100, and total Energy Output. The bike comes with a Tablet attached that allows you to run whatever app you'd like, including the Peloton Digital App.
This is the most expensive and best bike in the lineup. It is the most similar to the original Peloton bike, but you don't have to sign up for the $39 recurring monthly membership cost.

I have to say that although I know next to nothing about the biking scene, peleton options, etc. this video is one of the most informative, most in-depth type of video to explain all the concepts you would need to do in order to get the objective you want. Just want to say Thank You! for these videos. Been going strong with my ProForm Costco bike for a year now, did the mag-resistance hack, and got SPD shoes & pedals for Christmas. I didn't think proper spin shoes would matter so much, but it has been a huge improvement.

We tackled assembling the bike as a family project. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxzg0clhbtRf2gGxPkVETFKJJKGqdsorQu The package is heavy, but I have 2 teen boys that were able to move it. The written instructions were great- we didn't need to watch the videos, but it was good knowing that the option was there if we needed it. After we were able to get it set up, the boys each rode 3 miles and I rode 8 and the bike stayed quiet. The display is easy to reset, and you can put it on whichever setting you are using (time, distance, calories, etc). I will say that my butt is a little sore from the seat, but that could be because I haven't rode in a while. While it is comfortable for me, it was not comfortable with the seat position for my friend (could not move the seat back far enough and he slightly looked like a kid riding a tricycle that he had outgrown). He also said that the seat hurt his manly parts. We are going to look for a different seat that will be compatible with this bike for him.I did purchase the Wahoo Cadence sensor and strapped it to the crank of one of the pedals. This will sync with my Apple Watch, iPhone and will import data in to my Health app. Wahoo does have other sensors available other than cadence. I can also keep either my phone or my iPad on the display and they both feel pretty secure.

Great video! Been taking the Apple Fitness+ classes with my “tier 2-ish” bike for several months and decided to give the peloton app a try with their one month trial. Enjoying it so far on my appletv, but my question is: do you know if I were to get the wahoo cadence sensor would I be able to connect that directly to the appletv to view metrics on the big screen? I’ve figured out that I can get my heart rate/strive score up there with my Apple Watch, but was unsure about the cadence.
I would love to see a review on the Yesoul S3 spin bike.
What would you recommend for tier 1 overall? I’m in between the Sunny SF-B1805 vs Joroto. I’ll be buying a cadence sensor and I have an Apple Watch to track heart rate and I have an iPad to use for peloton app classes. I’ve been watching your videos and still can’t decide!

I am looking into a Tier 2.5: I bought a refurbished Echelon EX5 (which hasn't arrived yet) and the qdomyos-zwift app, which will hopefully allow me to take the Power Zone classes with greater precision (I'm currently approximating using HR zones) and auto adjust resistance.
Do you have a video explaining how to change your bike crank arm ?? or how to maintain your bike so it can last multiple years ??

What one would you choose, joroto x2 vs echelon - For me I dont care about spin classes.. I just want quality, resistance and good drive train like normal bike.. Dont care about the blue tooth, etc - what would you suggest between those two

Looking for your help. I’ve got a peloton bike and am looking to discontinue the all access membership . I predominantly do older rides from the on demand library but the app membership only allows 3 per month. What options do I have with my peloton bike to not have the $40 monthly fee but still be able to access the on demand library 25 times a month? Can I use my peloton with the stride app or another app with on demand rides?

Can anyone tell me if there is an app to create a ride to your chosen songs? I go to the Y 2-3 times a week and it is a 30 mile drive each way. I would like to be able to ride at home. I don’t want to use a streamed class. I am pretty sure, from what I have seen,the music would not be a fit for me. I would love to create my own ride.

@TailHappyTV, can you comment on the Echelon GT+ as an alternative to the Peloton? Would it be considered Tier 2? With shipping it costs around $900, so I'm not sure its worth it compared to the Stryde bike. And what accessories would you purchase to make it similar to the Peloton?
I'm looking for an open platform like the Stryde Bike. We might consider purchasing a Tier 2 bike and purchasing an iPad as well, but together that might cost the amount of the Stryde bike.

unfortunately the scenic rides are not available unless you pay the membership.

Just a heads up. I tried to use my cadence sensor with the Peloton app on my android tablet and it wouldn't work. I could only connect a heart monitor with the app. I had to use my wife's iPad in order to use the cadence sensor with the Peloton app. I did some research and Peloton doesn't give you the ability to add a cadence sensor with the android app for some reason.

yeah after trying peloton app i found out that it only supports the heart monitor, not cadance. bye bye peloton app.
