Thanks for letting me tag along. Reminds me of all the hours that I have spent in the hay field. Your "old junk equipment" is about 30 years newer than the equipment that I used to put up hay....we finally stopped putting up hay in 2019. That old 50's haying equipment probably had a million miles on it by the time we retired it.
Anyone who has grown up or been around farms at all could probably smell that fresh cut hay, I know I could. And happy birthday Shane, cheers from down under .
Love to see that 1150 roll coal ! We had a 1966 806 Farmall that pulled well for its size and you could see the black smoke over the hills for a few miles. I plowed fields for hundreds of hours as kid and now at 70 have a hearing loss to prove it. lol
Happy Birthday, Shane. I just turned 80 and remember what i was doing 20 years ago, long haul trucking. Beautiful scenery and watching you two work as a team is priceless. My dad passed in '63 and mom in '81. Thanks for sharing.
Story time gets one thinking of how life paths are shaped. Glad you do what you do, we need farmers. Shane made it to 60... Life / living feels more appreciated, every year, during the upper years.
born in 59 -hauled square bales-chopped & picked cotton--dug peanuts --dug taters --then worked on a hog/cattle farm- i have had a great life----enjoy every minute spent with FAMILY--Happy Birthday Shane
Sean, this is one of your best videos, in my opinion. Buddy watching you do that hayen, brings back old memories from me in the field. Tell your Dad Happy Birthday.
I have a 1970s Massey, and my newest car is a 2008 Cadillac. But my house is paid for! You are a great young man, good character, just watching you anyone can tell you have a good heart. Don't sweat the small stuff, you'll spend money where and when you need to. Best of luck!
Enjoy your videos of the farming and all the other things you do. Happy Birthday Shane. I did my farming from age six to twelve. Then my dad's health got bad, and we had to sell out. We had a dairy farm. This was from 1950 to 1956. So, you can just figure out my age to. I stay busy now with my yard in the warm weather and my crafts in cold weather. Our hay cutting was a sickle mower and side rake. We had a 1955 new John Deer baler when we sold out.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHANE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great looking hay, and by the way Sean the Massey may be old but it sure gets the job done. Sooner have a paid for one than a new one that is so darn complicated that its almost impossible to work on and owe thousands of dollars on it.
My grandparents had 500 head of white face milkers. So we did some haying back in our younger years . Everything has changed dramatically these days. Nobody does it anymore. So it's nice to see
Lots of satisfaction in mowing n moving hay Shane. Like your dad says it's fun to do .. as long as everythings ticking over as it should. Moisture content looks really good in that hay will be a good fattener. Bushyboy Oz.
When I was taught how to cut hay, I was told to save the very outside round until the very end. That's usually where most of the rocks are. That way if you hit something and break your machine it's not a mad rush to get it fixed so you can finish cutting the rest of the hay.
My mates dad bought a run down farm about 10 miles from where i lived it had a lot of old plantations of pne trees that had gone wild so we cut them down and made them into fire wood he sold me the plantations for $2k each from the proceeds of the firew wood i bought a new toyota truck and a 3 tone truch two new chainsawa and 2 tractors We got the stumps pulled and he planted it in grass and i would help bail the grass using my 140 Hp tractor I loved bailing .that was back in 1960's
A nice Friday night surprise here in Plymouth, MA. where it is a balmy 31 degrees. Watching Texas/Ohio State one one screen with the sound muted and 89 Built on the other screen of my computer with the sound on. I am glad you have decided to go on your own on YT. I always felt you had so much more to offer than we saw on FR. There is noting more satisfying than a hard days work and seeing all of the hay stacked. See you on the next one.
Fine job! Tell your dad Happy Birthday. You guys are amazing. It seems there's nothing you can't do. A man could learn a lot hanging around with both of you.
Fun to watch ..these machines are awesome the way they were designed..My family and wife's family were farmers way back...then the wars enlisted our Grandparents and they ended up all over the United States...and Happy 60th to your Pop
You and your Dad work good together! It reminds me of when I was growing up on the 1500 acre cotton farm working for/with my Dad! Happy Birthday, Shane!
I'll send you some snow 😂😂😂 from NW WI. Thanks for the video of making Hay well done 👍❤❤. Take care of yourself and family and friends and be Blessed ❤️.
Yeah when it cost money that you really can't afford to spend for a mistake that was made it really reinforces the lessen not to make that mistake again pretty well.
Next September my 88 year old wife and I will be traveling from Fort Worth, Tx to Seattle Washington for my US Navy USS Berkeley reunion. We would like to stop by and visit with you on our road trip.
WHERES OL POPS AT ?. EXPERIENCE IS PRICELESS. GOOD FOR GOOD TIMES . MEMORIERS ARE YOU KNOW ? PRICELESS. CANT WAIT TILL NEXT VID . THE BEST TO YA'LL AND YOURS PEACE !
Always put the cutter inside and the tractor along the outside on the first round because the hay quality was never as good on the outside of the field and didn't loose as much to wheel tracks.
Happy birthday to you bud, great job, awesome video, keep up the great work. Any update on the scamp 5th wheel trailer you guy's welded up, I'm sure he made it home safely.
Time spent working with your dad and father in law are memories that you'll enjoy the rest of your life
Happy birthday Shane. 60 is just a number. Keep moving and you’ll be seventy before you know it.
Thanks

Getting to work with family is for sure priceless. Your kids will say the same thing about you.

Screaming Detroit's are one thing but the sound of a Perkin's V8 is its own special treat.

Love listening to the stories. Keep em coming.
Will do!
Sean, this is one of your best videos, in my opinion. Buddy watching you do that hayen, brings back old memories from me in the field. Tell your Dad Happy Birthday.
Wow, thanks

Paid for equipment is priceless. Hell with never ending payments to these modern vampire like corporations.
Like the ones buying up land all over the globe? Farming is doomed as well as anyone that depends on them.
Happy Birthday Shane. Thanks for the ride along. God Bless
Thanks
Love old equipment. Enjoying the content. Keep the video's coming.
Thats actually a fairly valuable tractor if you found the right collector who wanted to restore it, the 1150s were a good old machine

I was watching this ad it snowed in Illinois lol wishing I had some of that shor sleeved weather.
Good job on the video.
This is old footage from 2024
Goid to see you grease it up. Some people cant even do that. Makes the equipment work better and last longer. Good job Shawn
Happy 60th Shane!! The best is yet to come.
Thanks. I’m counting on it
HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHANE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great looking hay, and by the way Sean the Massey may be old but it sure gets the job done. Sooner have a paid for one than a new one that is so darn complicated that its almost impossible to work on and owe thousands of dollars on it.
Great job watching your family work together is awesome.
My grandparents had 500 head of white face milkers. So we did some haying back in our younger years . Everything has changed dramatically these days. Nobody does it anymore. So it's nice to see
All factory farming and that leads to tons of recalls and shortages to raise their profits.....good luck 🇺🇲🇺🇸👽🗿👽
Didn’t realize how much hay you harvest! Family team work makes the dream work!
At least the old equipment you can fix yourself seems like the new is not owner friendly
Lots of satisfaction in mowing n moving hay Shane. Like your dad says it's fun to do .. as long as everythings ticking over as it should. Moisture content looks really good in that hay will be a good fattener. Bushyboy Oz.
Brought back memories. My 2 brothers, my dad and me did hay , hunted and much more together. Realize more now how much fun we has.
Happy birthday Shane...can't think of a better way to celebrate than being in the hayfields.
Thanks
