What is amazing to me is that housing use is permitted in all the building code zones. In Australia the zonung is so strict that I have neighbours who have one floor of their house which they are only allowed to have people do short stays, and not allowed to have a full kitchen on that floor without getting their property rezoned.
Zoning laws were created by the oil and auto industries in the 1920s to force people to buy cars by making sure they could have housing near work or shopping. Longer distances mean you have to own a car to live and that insures their profits. It’s nuts.
I would love to take advantage of this. I don't require work since emy wife and I both work remotel, but I have no idea how to get into Japan under these circumstances.
i live in the US and the housing market here is terrible for me and my spouse even though we both make a good living. we are thinking of retiring in Japan for higher quality of life but affordable. thank you so much for this info
You can hear people fart in those houses. Horrible places. Small, far away, crowded, noisy... Cheap yes but you wouldn't want to live in those houses more than 2 years. You wouldn't want to have children living in those houses. Japan has so much empty space. They should focus on places other than Tokyo, Kyoto or Osaka. We need inakas! Thanks for the video. Maybe speak a bit faster, use more stock videos, publish one video every week. It'll help the channel. Also people like me appreciates your videos but they are niche. So maybe have some videos that anyone would want to watch too.

Great video like always
Until 4 million people a year start moving there and drive all the prices up. Then it won’t be cheap.

The video was great
This is sooo circumstancial on the structures rather than problem endemic in the system.
